Come on, let me know what she actually said to you

Daniel Smith8 said:Waiting on you, dear 🙂

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll definitely swing by Monica’s to sample those pastries. And thanks for the tip on the cookies, though I've already made up my mind—I'm capping it at about a pound per person.
How did your guests react to the cakes? Did they actually enjoy them, or did you end up with a mountain of leftovers?

man, seriously, so many people kept coming up to me to compliment them... and honestly, being totally objective here—they were incredible. There wasn't a single cake left, mostly because I only ordered eight more than the guest count, plus I had a big main cake too. To top it off, the waiter told me the photographer's assistant straight-up polished off five of them😂.... and who knows where they ended up🤣

hmm... there were about 15 different kinds; 70% creamy stuff, 30% dry pastries... I only managed to eat one single dessert because I honestly couldn't handle anything else... felt kind of bad since I couldn't eat, especially because the food was overall phenomenal

122... man, there is seriously so much food left over that I’m actually feeling a little guilty about the wasted cash... I mean, look, the truth is we didn't even sit down for dinner until 9 PM, so that definitely played a part—people just ended up with way too much on their plates all at once... but anyway, whatever the reason, just a heads-up: don't order more than like half a pound per person

Quick update for everyone, especially for Daniel Smith8 — those cupcakes were absolute perfection. Seriously, way better than that cake we grabbed at the local bakery, mostly because that thing didn't even have real frosting or a dark chocolate rim... everyone was raving about them, even the owner of Traiber himself. And man, they looked incredible—the frosting was laid on so smooth you’d think someone used a level to do it.😍

Oh yeah... and ladies, maybe go easy on the sweets next time... out of the 20kg I ordered, I've still got like 10kg left over. There was just way too much food, and honestly, nobody was really hitting the dessert table hard enough.

Yeah... they're sweet... thanks
And honestly, the price for that cake over at Vincent's is pretty decent too👍

ruggedtrucker16, I already posted them, but here they are again just in case

the only little tweak on my end will be using five-pointed stars on the cupcakes—since that's the whole theme we went with for the invites, place cards, and all that other stuff...

honestly, though, I think the final price is pretty decent... I definitely wasn't expecting that discount

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to Monica’s Bakery... we ended up ordering 130 mini cakes, one smaller cake, and about 45 pounds of pastries today—and the whole thing came out to just $963... plus, she hooked us up with a $67 discount, which I seriously wasn't expecting... 👍
Oh, and one more thing—those mini cakes are actually $3.00, not $3.25 like I said before
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
I'm gonna bring some cupcakes... they're $3.25 a piece... $267 honestly, for 20 people, that's just overkill

It’s the exact same ratio at
my place.

Look, I wouldn't want things to go sideways either, but I've already done my homework—checked a few different spots online... and everyone seems to agree that about five ounces is the sweet spot. I mean, there's always that gamble of how much actually gets eaten, but everyone keeps telling me they usually have plenty of cake left over, so I'm just crossing my fingers that I'll have enough at my place—it doesn't even matter if there's leftovers😁

So, my girlfriends were telling me to go with about a pound and a half per person, but then the baker at the local bakery suggested just over two pounds for eight people—which is actually a bit less... honestly? I think a pound and a half per head is plenty... and in your case, that puts you at around 82 pounds... maybe just round that up to 90 to be safe... personally, if I was catering for 120 people, I’d probably just grab about 45 pounds and call it a day.

Yeah, coming up soon... just about ten days out.😁
I mean, I’m with you—it'd be smart if those girls gave it a shot at the trade show. If they end up being a good fit for the ones who need to buy in bulk, they could honestly save a massive amount of cash.

I ended up going with Monica—she’s doing my cakes, so it just makes life easier to have everything handled by one baker... plus, her sweets are actually pretty good anyway.
I really wasn't feeling the idea of driving all the way out to Columbus just to do some tastings... I mean, sure, if you're one of those girls who can wait until the expo to try stuff, go for it, but I'm getting this wedding wrapped up before then even happens.😍
And honestly, I only grabbed that guy's number for future stuff... like baby showers or christenings, maybe.
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
And look... honestly, that number is even cheaper than everything else we've seen so far... just shoot me the figure so I can get it saved somewhere...

Drew Foster11, man, if you're feeding 110 people, 20kg of stuff is basically nothing—barely enough to cover the basics... though I guess if you've got even more stashed at your place before hitting the wedding, you might actually stand a chance...
jadestag11, honestly, that price sounds like a steal... but won't he jack it up once his small business officially kicks off? I’d love to grab some of those treats, even though I already placed my wedding order... maybe I'll pick some up for other occasions later on.

Check out the wedding cakes and desserts thread—there’s a bunch of stuff written there already... plus, maybe someone else will actually have some useful advice for you too.

Mischa... ugh, moms, right? Mine’s already on my case—like, "what kind of wedding is it even if nobody's wearing a suit?"🤣
And don't even get me started on the cake. If you asked my mom, she’d probably order enough to feed an army—like 90 pounds for a hundred people or something.🙄

Camellia... that looks like a gorgeous cake.

Fear, one of my friends was actually super happy with them.
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
And do they actually cost the same?
uff, man... just a massive crowd... and a mountain of cookies😉
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
Man, why even bother with such a huge crowd? Honestly, if they’re priced differently but taste just as good, just hit up whichever spot is cheaper... did you actually try both bakeries yet?
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
ugh, thanks a million... I guess I've finally made up my mind—I'm definitely ordering 15oz of each...
