I mean, I’m pretty sure my local baker wouldn't tell me it's enough unless it actually was... I mean, let's be real—it's in her best interest to upsell me on as much as possible anyway...🤷

I’m definitely going with that top cutting cake too, though honestly, it’ll probably look identical to the smaller one...

Hey ladies—quick question about wedding cakes. For those who’ve already tied the knot, how much did you actually order versus your guest count? My baker is telling me to aim for about 1kg per 8 people, but my mom is totally convinced that’s way too little... I really don't want to run out, but at the same time, I have zero interest in throwing money down the drain on fancy desserts that just sit out all night under the lights, drying up or melting into a mess that nobody wants to touch by the end of the night.
I know people have probably touched on these "rules" before, but I really want to hear your actual experiences—how much did you order, and realistically, how much was left over (or wasted)?

Honestly, if that pastry chef wanted to, she’d probably drown the whole thing in chocolate just to please you... I actually asked her about adding whipped cream, and she said she could do it, but since she has to hand-decorate each one to make them look pretty, she’d have to bump up the price a bit—apparently, it's a huge time sink for her. I'll hit you up once everything is finalized, but honestly, if the flavor is anything like the sample I had, you really can't go wrong here.
We’ve actually dropped by their shop a few times to sample stuff, and we even picked up some cake slices to take home—everything was legit delicious. Obviously, they don't have a massive selection like Whole Foods or something, since it's just a small boutique bakery, but the quality is there, and these mini tarts are like three times cheaper than what you'd pay at a big chain like Magnolia Bakery.
Plus, if you check out those photos in the link, you can tell the presentation is top-tier... I actually managed to track down the bride from that wedding in the link, and she told me everyone absolutely loved the desserts.

I’m going to make them exactly like the ones in that wedding link... chocolate and vanilla cakes, with that same half-chocolate, half-vanilla glaze—which I actually love because it feels way more "natural" to me... plus, I'm really not about that artificial stuff.

Anyway, here are a few more pics.

Honestly, I’m not going to make my life harder than it already is—I'll just get everything from Monica. I order her little treats too, so if people dig them, great; if not, hey, what can you do? It's impossible to please everyone anyway.

hey girls, any idea how much those cookies at Kashner's run me?

I pick up treats from La Dolce Vita every now and then—we actually grabbed some birthday cakes from there recently and everything was super tasty—but honestly, I have no clue what their wedding cakes or catering options are like, or even what they charge...

alright, thanks

So, how much are her cookies actually running you, and how many different kinds does she have? Also—curious about the ratio—is it more dry stuff or creamy fillings?

Thanks, but I already made plans for the cupcakes...

Monica's got like a few pounds of cookies sitting there $27 — I haven't actually tried them myself, so I can't vouch for the flavor or anything, and as for the cakes, I'd guess they range from 8 to $3.25 pounds... but honestly, you should probably just double-check with her. I only ever ordered those mini cupcakes, so I never bothered asking how much their standard cakes usually weigh

I'll shoot you a DM
Yeah, I ended up going with them... honestly, I haven't even bothered looking anywhere else... I just realized it’s the one, you know? No point in wasting my breath or my time wandering around looking for something better.
How do I increase my post count? in Forum Help! ·
I haven't actually been active on any of these forums for over a year and a half now... it's honestly kind of wild looking back at how many posts I managed to rack up on here before I checked out😕

Quick question... I woke up today and suddenly over 3,500 of my posts have just vanished into thin air—anyone know what the hell happened?😕

Word is it’s about 10-15 ounces per person...
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
So, look... I already told you this a few posts back.. $3.25 one at a time
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
Look, I know the cake is delicious (well, at least the one I had)—and it looks absolutely stunning... but honestly, I think the price really just comes down to how many people you're feeding and what kind of ingredients they're using...

Yeah, yeah... Monica... honestly, I’d never even heard of them until now... but I went ahead and tried four different kinds of cake yesterday and, man, they were all seriously good...
