Yeah, that's about it... at least on my end.
I heard on the news that Mercury might be the culprit. I think someone at the hospital mentioned it to me too, though not you specifically. It seems to be popping up everywhere lately; I just hope I have enough immunity so I don't end up getting sick again...
Give me a break, Sam Hall15. It’s just a standard stomach bug. It’s only the first month of the year, the weather is miserable, and it’s hardly surprising that everyone is catching something. Besides, I’m not ninety years old; I don't need a minor virus to knock me sideways. Honestly, you're such a hypochondriac. It’s obvious you aren't a doctor—if you were, you’d know they usually just tell people to hang in there and wait for it to pass. ☕
Several doctors have told me that chamomile isn't the move when you're dealing with nausea; it can actually irritate your stomach further. It’ll probably just soothe your nerves, though even that hasn't worked for me 😁. For stuff like this, I usually stick to peppermint, ginger, or maybe some sage tea.
Anyway, the worst part is over. I didn't end up needing an IV drip since I managed to bounce back on my own 🙂
swiftowl10, I felt the exact same way. It was absolutely brutal. A friend of mine went through it too, though she recovered within 24 hours while I ended up completely dehydrated. I’m heading in for an IV drip tomorrow. It sounds like a classic case of stomach flu. I lost about nine pounds in three days.

Good grief, here we go again, airing our dirty laundry in public. 🙂
Same here, though I mostly just stick to the record player. 😁

Are you up to date on your tetanus shot? 🤣
And then there are those blue light glasses specifically designed for computer use.

Douglas Diaz2, do you have any recommendations for throat infections, bronchitis, or laryngitis—specifically the bacterial kind? Just in case I get hit again. These antibiotics absolutely wreck me. Every time I finish a course for a sore throat, I end up with a yeast infection. 😁

By the way, how did you become an expert in this? Books? Courses?

James Palmer8, have you actually tried this? You can read all the nonsense they print at Walgreens, but at the end of the day, whatever happens, happens.

I once heard a supposedly true story about a guy who managed to control his leukemia using some kind of fungus. Apparently, you add it to milk to ferment it into something resembling kefir, and they claim it can even regulate blood sugar levels.
My mom actually cleared up her rheumatism by drinking chestnut brandy.
A neighbor of mine cured his varicose veins just by taking Ginkgo Biloba tablets.
I used to suffer from severe, frequent throat infections for about three years—every few months, without fail. I tried all sorts of natural remedies, but nothing worked until I finally went the antibiotic route. Once I quit smoking, the infections stopped entirely (honestly, I’d give anything to knock on wood right now and hope I don't catch something 🙂). It wasn't life-threatening, but it was nasty enough.

Which specific illness are you looking into?

I don't think being attractive makes life easier—especially for women. In fact, I’d argue it’s harder for beautiful women. Many end up developing a sort of defensive narcissism because society demands they be flawless, which creates constant pressure over the years. Plus, there's the inevitable stereotype that an attractive woman is just "eye candy" without much substance; people tend to overlook intelligence when they're distracted by looks.😉 This constant focus on appearance can lead to various complexes later in life since their value is tied solely to their face. Handsome men will likely become narcissists too, though they might have it easier because of the attention they receive, but that isn't a guarantee.

Another generalization. I don't believe looks dictate what kind of personality you develop. They play a part, sure, but you can't judge someone's character based on their face. That said, if you're navigating a crowd of strangers, being attractive will probably give you an edge.

Maybe you aren't either, so you're just talking nonsense regardless.😁

Speaking from personal experience: if I make an effort and head to the station looking my best, there’s a much higher chance some guy—regardless of age—will strike up a conversation or offer to help with my bags (honestly, it's one of the perks of being a woman 😍). If I haven't put myself together, that chivalry tends to vanish.
It also fascinates me how people just look right through me when I'm out in sweats looking disheveled. They wouldn't even notice if I were robbing a bank.
The takeaway? It's better to be attractive than not. If you aren't naturally stunning and you're a woman, you'd better learn how to apply makeup. For men, a lack of beauty is generally less of a handicap. Well, at least until people actually get to know you and realize they don't care about your looks as long as you still have all your front teeth 😁

I still remember the definition we were taught back in fourth grade: water is a transparent liquid with no taste or smell. 😁

I drink water from my Brita here in NYC. Even though it still has a bit of a chlorine aftertaste, I’d much rather deal with that than try to enjoy a pot of tea covered in all those floating bits you have to skim off the top. It’s honestly revolting. When I boil water from the Brita, that issue disappears, so at least it serves a purpose. I wouldn't go calling the NYC tap water some kind of miracle elixir, either. Personally, I find it pretty nasty.
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Are those hemorrhoid creams available over-the-counter, or do you actually need to see a doctor first? I’m not entirely sure if I’m even dealing with that, but I might just grab something safe to have on hand, just in case. Anyone have any recommendations?

What bothered me about the Sundance Film Festival was the arrogance of a handful of people—though I don't know them personally. They act as if Sundance is some exclusive extension of an alternative scene you have to belong to just to exist. It’s a certain mindset held by a few people I've encountered, and frankly, I find it distasteful.
Regarding the money, I'm no mathematician, but the locals seem to lean toward a "give everything to Sundance" approach while ignoring all other events. That’s the core issue—not necessarily where the taxpayers' money goes, though in my opinion, you could host a hundred Sundance Festivals for the price of one massive stadium renovation.
Ultimately, I don't agree with everything, but there's truth to be found in this argument.

ruggedmarlin15 basically put into words everything I was thinking but didn't say out loud. To be honest, I had such a blast at the Sundance Film Festival that I completely lost my ability to act like a rational human being. When I said "hats off," I meant it as a genuine sign of respect and an admission that I agree with about 80% of what the author wrote. That’s why 🙂
