Flu shots [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
I’m telling you right now, I am never, ever getting a flu shot.
Honestly, whether we're talking about mercury, aluminum, or formaldehyde, none of that sounds even remotely safe to me, so I'd much rather just steer clear of the whole thing entirely. And don't even get me started on doctors—I don't trust a single one of them.

The ExxonMobil clinic over on Main Street, just heading up toward Appalachia—it’s quick and they actually get things done. Good luck!
Broken Hip in Health ·
So, last Christmas, my grandma ended up shattering her kneecap—total patella fracture—all thanks to our beloved local transit system. She had her main surgery at the Trauma Center, and they said everything went smoothly, plus they jumped right on physical therapy; a therapist was even coming by the house every two weeks to get her moving again. A month later, she spent two weeks down in Miami, which honestly did wonders for her recovery. Now, you have to understand, this woman is 67 years old, incredibly vital, and has never even been under anesthesia or broken a bone in her life before this mess. But when I saw her for the first time in May, I was absolutely floored by how much this whole ordeal aged her. It wasn't just physical, either; she completely lost her spark, wouldn't even try to push herself, and was spiraling into this pretty deep depression. Things are finally looking up, but she’s still terrified of letting go of her cane, even though her doctor is telling her straight up that she doesn't even need it anymore. I’m heading back to the States in two weeks to check on her, and while it seems like she’s doing better, I just know deep down she’ll never be quite the same person she was before all this happened.😢
Honestly, I feel like I’ve read just about everything out there already, so I’m actually really glad this finally made its way onto the forum. Since I live here in the US myself, I’ve had to face all these statistics head-on in my own life, which made discovering this information even more eye-opening and fascinating for me. Thanks!😉
Claritin-D??? in Health ·
Whoops, interesting take. Honestly, I haven’t really bothered with allergy meds before, but lately, I’ve officially hit my breaking point. I am just constantly irritable, totally sleep-deprived, and since I’ve been overusing Afrin for a few nights in a row, my nasal passages are so sensitive now that I can't even deal with it anymore. So, I’ve been stuck taking this Claritin for three days straight, though I’m not exactly thrilled about it either. Benadryl works okay, I guess, but that neon pink color is just hideous, and I have to take a ridiculous amount for it to actually kick in. Plus, they knock you out so hard during the day that you become completely useless. Since I spend a lot of time in Washington, D.C., I feel like it would honestly be more cost-effective to just stock up on stuff there because things are outrageously expensive here. Unfortunately, nobody has told me what the prices look like in the US yet.😢
Claritin-D??? in Health ·
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how much Claritin-D usually runs here in the States? Right now, I've got this pack of Claritin-D 24 hour strength—you know, the stuff with Loratadine 10 mg and Pseudoephedrine sulfate 240mg—and it's five tablets for ten bucks, which covers me for five days. I’m really curious about what the typical prices look like around here because I'm wondering if it's actually worth my time to just stock up and bring some back from my travels instead of blowing all this cash locally. It honestly feels like this is the only thing that actually does anything when it comes to fighting off these damn pollen allergies.
Thyroid cancer in Health ·
Well, it really all boils down to how many metastases there are and where they’ve decided to show up. I know people who dealt with thyroid cancer, went through the surgery, and now they're stuck on hormone replacement for the rest of their lives. You can go through radiation and things might turn out okay, but once it starts metastasizing, you just never truly know what you're looking at. It could be the lungs, the brain, who knows? Honestly, I feel terrible about it.😢

Look, I personally deal with super low blood pressure, and when I was on those pills for a while—pairing them with intense workouts and high doses of caffeine along with Ephedrine—I went through absolute hell. Total insomnia, constant jitters, and my heart was racing like crazy every few minutes. I’m telling you, I honestly felt like I could go out and take down a bull; I was wired beyond belief, but it felt completely unnatural. My stomach was a disaster, too. It was just... weird. I can't tell if it was all in my head because I knew I was doing something sketchy, or if that's just how the stuff actually hits your system. Even though Ephedrine is banned for athletes, I know plenty of people around here who still use it at smaller local tournaments where nobody is checking. It definitely works, but God knows what the long-term damage is. Probably not great. In America, people aren't dying just because they're overweight; they're dying because this garbage is advertised everywhere, it's cheap as hell, and you don't even need a doctor's prescription to grab it at any local pharmacy or grocery store. People are so insecure about their bodies that they think they'll drop weight overnight, so they don't bother reading—or they just don't care about—the warnings printed in tiny font on the back of the bottle.
Carnitine doesn't really have much to do with this, and neither do protein supplements. A lot of that stuff isn't necessarily toxic, but you seriously have to be careful and actually educate yourself first. At the end of the day, none of these supplements undergo the kind of rigorous, long-term testing and oversight that actual FDA-approved medications do, so there's no proof of how much harm they might cause, and they aren't subject to strict quality control or ingredient checks. So, just watch yourselves.🙂

I tried that stuff years ago and honestly, my body was absolutely screaming at me from the sheer misery of it all. I remember it vividly—sure, I dropped the weight, but my system was totally wrecked in the process. And then you find out later how many women actually ended up dying because of those pills :mad
Tampons in Women's Health ·
Look, if things start getting a little messy while you're out and about, just pop in a thin pantyliner and you'll be totally fine. But honestly, trying to shove a tampon in bone-dry and then having to pull it out later? That’s just a nightmare. And for heaven's sake, never leave a tampon in for more than three or four hours. Also, I don't know where you're getting this idea, but peeing has absolutely zero connection to your tampon usage because the urethra isn't even near it—unless you count having to nudge the string to the side. And if you're seriously thinking about putting a tampon in at 8 AM and leaving it until 4 or 5 PM, that is just 🤮 way too long 😉
By the way, Always makes those tiny liners specifically designed for thongs too 😉

And I’m right back at it again, telling anyone who will listen that these "games for little girls" are basically just high-octane testosterone fests wrapped in pink packaging.😉

Yeah, he’s actually out there playing in his company’s tournaments😁. They’re literally trying to figure out how to squeeze in one last paintball match before they tear down the building they work in. Honestly, I think the whole thing is just ridiculous, especially since I was the one who went out and bought him all his gear🙄now I'm stuck dealing with the fallout of this mess😉

Handball World Championship Spain-Portugal Finals in Other Sports ·
Honestly, we poor souls over here in the States can't even watch the action, so I guess I owe you guys a massive thanks for the scores. Just keep it coming like this, our guys, and keep posting so I actually have something to cheer about 😉
I heard the exact same story about some kid being kidnapped back in Washington, D.C. a few years ago—kidnapped at around ten years old, no less. They actually managed to return him to the very same spot where he was taken, but get this: the poor kid was missing a kidney by then, so, yikes. People were talking about it constantly in all the right circles, too.
As far as doctors go, they absolutely butchered my mother over at Mayo Clinic about twenty years ago, and when she tried to ask for the actual surgical protocol, suddenly the paperwork just "mysteriously" vanished. Every single doctor in the building just started pointing fingers and blaming one another, leaving us with absolutely nothing. I’ve got plenty of other stories like that buried in my family history, but honestly, I bet we all have at least one horror story or another of our own.
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Honestly, once I actually sit down and wrap my head around this, I’m done with all that stuff, period. You can absolutely protect yourself without relying on birth control pills—without flooding your system with hormones and poisoning your body with all kinds of absolute garbage. We just put way too much faith in doctors who, if you ask me, don't even grasp the basic concepts of what they're talking about.😠There isn't even any aspirin left, none at all.😉
So, here in the States, they have this whole system where you can get a little heart icon printed right on your driver’s license, which basically serves as a formal signal that you’ve opted in to be an organ donor after you pass away. Honestly, looking back, I’m actually starting to regret agreeing to it—I guess I wasn't properly comforted or given enough reassurance about the whole thing when I signed up. Once I get settled here, I’m definitely changing my status. You don't even need a formal document; you can always just tell your loved ones directly that if anything ever happens, you want your organs to be donated. I’ve always been a huge advocate for this because I have a close friend who was literally saved by a liver transplant, so I’ve always been all for donation, and I donate blood regularly too, since I truly believe that’s one of the most noble things a person can do. It’s just such a shame that our society has become such a dark, cynical place lately.😠
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Look, I was using them for nearly two years, back when I was on birth control about seven years ago. 😢 Is my period actually going to get back to normal, or am I looking at a permanent risk of blood clots? And even if clots do form, do they just clear out after a while? Honestly, I'm freaking out right now.
