The Good Dinosaur (2015) in Movies ·
The Good Dinosaur doesn't quite hit the masterpiece status of Inside Out, but Pixar still delivered a very solid film this time around.

I tapped out at the 30-minute mark myself...

Looks terrible.
The Walk (2015) in Movies ·
In my opinion, this is one of the best films of the year. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was excellent. I'm actually kicking myself for not seeing it in 3D—it still hit home even in 2D, though.
Self/less (2015) in Movies ·
This is easily one of my top contenders for the worst film of the year. Completely hollow—and utterly shameless.
Absolutely Anything (2015) in Movies ·
Grace Sanders24 said:Hands down, the worst movie from Simon Pegg. It was incredibly stupid and just plain boring—honestly, I was seconds away from walking out of the theater.😵

I’ve been scrolling through the reviews online. Most people think the movie is absolute garbage. I’m skipping it—I'd much rather go watch Trainwreck.
Remakes and sequels: how much is too much? in Movies ·
Jessica Gonzalez said:It makes me a little sad whenever I see something like Jurassic World pulling in such massive amounts of money; it feels like all that cash is just fueling a broken system. I guess cinematic art and our modern access to high-quality theaters and TVs should really go hand in hand. I don't know, back in the early '90s, who could have imagined that in the late 21st century, this kind of product would outearn all the classics combined?

It’s genuinely pathetic that things like Twilight, Harry Potter, and Spider-Man are the ones breaking records... just completely inconsequential movies.

Joshua Ramirez2 said:It’s pretty clear we have a massive amount of thirsty lowlifes and thirteen-year-olds in this country. How much did Number 55 pull in?

I’d estimate Number 55 hit around 30,000 to 35,000 viewers.

Picked up the April issue in New York City today.

They stopped carrying it locally, so only Empire is left.
Luckily, they have an international subscription, so I'll stick with that.
They offer a digital version too, plus some discounts.

I used to grab both Hollywood and Paramount Pictures. It's a shame they aren't around anymore.

Fifty Shades just pulled off the biggest opening weekend in American history.
Seventh Son (2013) in Movies ·
granitepanther3 said:So, it's a bad movie? I'm actually planning on seeing it just for Julianna Moore.

Can someone please tell me what happens with Mother Malkin during the movie? 🙂

Don't bother. I had the same thought—figured it might be salvageable because of Julianna Moore and Jeff Bridges, both of whom I genuinely respect—but honestly, there isn't a single redeeming quality to this film.
Seventh Son (2013) in Movies ·
Watched it today. Honestly? It’s a disaster. We might already have our frontrunner for the worst movie of the year—and it's early. Between the hollow script, the actors looking like they'd rather be anywhere else, and that endless, nauseating amount of CGI... just awful. 👎
Big Hero 6 in Movies ·
From what I gather, it should be hitting theaters here in the States this January.
Days to Kill (2014) in Movies ·
The movie isn't quite as bad as I initially expected—it’s just painfully cliché. It works fine if you're looking to switch your brain off for a couple of hours, and honestly, Amber Heard is easy on the eyes...
Sharknado (2013) in Movies ·
I caught him on camera yesterday. I'll get around to watching it later. Honestly? I'm a little spooked...
Groundhog Day (2013) in Movies ·
I really enjoyed it. Two pleasant hours at the theater watching a charming film. Kudos to Curtis. 🙂
Who is the greatest director of all time? in Movies ·
wiredraven82 said:Look, the subject matter is massive—it's a broad survey, so there isn't really a "dilemma" to solve here. My goal was simple: include any director with enough weight and cinematic influence to actually pull votes. I didn't want to pigeonhole myself into narrow categories like "best British directors" or "greatest of the last decade"; I wanted to go straight for the jugular. Honestly, looking back, did I seriously miss that many essential names? Please, everyone else, weigh in—I'm open to being corrected.

You picked the wrong names because Demme, Boyle, Stone, Fincher, Howard, and the rest can't even touch the "heavyweights" like Bergman, Lean (who you also left out), Hitchcock, Hawks, or Ford. The comparison is just ridiculous and frankly pointless.
Who is the greatest director of all time? in Movies ·
What was your actual logic when picking directors for this list? You’ve got Robert Rodriguez, Howard, Lucas, Stone, Demme... but then you completely skip over Peckinpah, Aldrich, Visconti, Tarkovsky, Bresson, Murnau, and Lang. If you're going to put together such a massive survey, at least pick a coherent theme—like "best British directors" or "top indie filmmakers"—instead of this.
Scream in Movies ·
Joseph Chase29 said:Alright, let me start a new thread.😁

Just watching Scream 3 on Max—they had the second one on last weekend, but not the first one. 😢 )
Anyway, it was honestly great to revisit this after not watching for a few years...
All in all—this is easily one of my favorite horror flicks.😍

First Scream is a masterpiece—easily one of the best films of the nineties. I still remember how blown away my friends and I were walking out of the local theater in Washington, D.C. It was summer, August 1996.
