Stomach issues / GI trouble in Health ·

Supposedly people end up throwing up, but I don't get how you can vomit after going 12+ hours without eating anything.
Not just asking out of curiosity—I'm scheduled for mine next week.

Trust me, it happens. You might just throw up bile or mucus. Even brushing my teeth makes me feel nauseous.
As for the actual endoscopy? I did it once and I am never doing that again.🙂
How much water do you guys drink? in Health ·
I didn't mean to be rude, but you're wrong on a few points here. You're acting like you have all the answers, even though you were the one being condescending to others in previous threads 😉.
People with hypertension can actually spike their blood pressure by overhydrating, which just makes things worse. Of course, you shouldn't let yourself get dehydrated, but there's a limit to how much water you should be chugging
.
The kidneys need fluid to filter blood properly. However, depending on someone's weight, body type, activity level, or even the local climate, some people might need less water to keep their urine pale and their blood clean. On the flip side, others might find their urine is dark and concentrated even after drinking 2.5 liters a day
.
It all comes down to moderation. You can't—and shouldn't—set a universal daily water intake rule for everyone 👋.

Off-topic note: I'm not a doctor, just a biochemist . 👋
Do you drink tap water? in Health ·
When I'm down in Cleveland, I always go straight for the tap water—it's honestly great 🙏. But when I'm up in Chicago, I’ll grab a bottled water from a local shop, then maybe just stick to whatever's on hand... 👋

Look, osvalde, I respect everyone's opinion, but when you start trying to convince someone their views are nonsense while clearly lacking any real expertise yourself, it just becomes ridiculous. Sorry, but you're honestly just talking nonsense here.

Water helps flush waste products from your intestines and kidneys...
Kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they fail to work right, everything gets offloaded onto the liver. The liver's job is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy. If the liver ends up doing the kidney's job too, it can't operate at full capacity, which means that excess fat just stays stored. /B]

Come on now, who exactly are you to act like such an expert? (Your biochemical mechanisms are only half-right, if they aren't totally wrong.) Or are you just one of those people obsessed with the "healthy lifestyle" craze? 🙂

As far as blood pressure goes, water only helps... /B]

People with high blood pressure SHOULDN'T drink excessive amounts of fluid!!! 😲

You definitely need to stay hydrated. For the average person, about 1.5 to 2 liters a day is fine, or even more if you feel the need—just don't overdo it, and please don't lecture others on things you don't understand. 👋
In the mornings before heading into the office—usually while I'm getting ready in the bathroom—I'll have some Nescafe with extra milk. Once I'm at my desk, maybe one espresso, and then pretty much nothing for the rest of the day.
That’s why I make sure to really savor an espresso out on the balcony during the weekends...
What's the deal with E330 lemon acid? in Health ·
Edward Turner27 said:As far as I know, saccharin is carcinogenic on its own.

I'm not trying to prove that lemon lime soda is inherently carcinogenic. My point is simply highlighting the possibility that trace amounts of additives used during industrial production could potentially be carcinogenic...

It's not about the soda itself, but rather the additives and impurities that might arise during the manufacturing process.

Citric acid is also found in all sorts of poisonous wild berries! Oops! I guess they must be toxic because of the citric acid!!! 😁 🙂
Oily hair, help! in Health ·
velvetsailor23 said:look, some people hate having dirty hair, while others find it greasy the same day they wash it, and for some, it lasts 4 or 5 days... so "a few days" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone.😉

It’s absolutely the same for everyone! Dirt isn't just about what you can actually see.🙄
My hair never gets oily; it’s so dry I could go a month without anyone even noticing it's dirty.
It’s like sitting on a toilet in a public restroom—if there's no visible mess, you aren't going to be grossed out by it, right?😲 😲

velvetsailor23 said:Oh boy... 🙄 skin texture on your hands isn't the same as it is on your scalp, silly. 😛 Washing your hair too often irritates that sensitive scalp skin, which leads to dryness and dandruff—or it just gets way oilier really fast.

And doesn't it feel gross if you go a few days without washing? 😲

I've been thinking about switching to contacts for a while now—honestly, I'm getting a bit tired of wearing glasses all day—but I really love doing my eye makeup. Is that going to be an issue? 😕 Also, what’s the best routine for putting them in and taking them out? Should I apply my makeup before or after putting the lenses in, and then do the same when I'm taking them out at night? 😕 😕

Bradley Ramos11 said:Hold on... Are you telling me people aren't brushing their teeth once a week, or washing their legs and everything else once a month during the holidays? 😁

p.s. No boyfriend of mine is kissing me in the hair.

Don't get ahead of yourself! Just wait for summer and head to the beach... or just wait until next year... 😎

velvetsailor23 said:Isn't washing your hair too often actually bad for you?😕

We wash our hands occasionally, brush our teeth at least twice a day, and shower once a day—so why is tracking hair cleanliness any different?🙄
All that dirt just builds up on your hair, and then by nighttime, you’re rubbing it all into your pillow... pure bliss...🙂 or even better, let your partner kiss you right on the head... just lovely...🙂 🙂

Edward Price73 said:The only safe bet is sticking to herbal remedies since they aren't harmful.🙂

The reality is that we have zero research on what's actually inside over half of these herbal supplements.
Plus, let’s not forget that nature—and by extension, many plant-based products—is full of incredibly toxic and dangerous substances.
Not to mention the impact environmental pollution has on the raw materials used to make them...
