mistybear4 said:That’s all accurate, but it’s only one side of the story regarding the Inuit...
The Inuit have healthy hearts, sure, but they deal with massive rates of arthritis and osteoporosis because their diet lacks fruits and vegetables. Honestly, I'm not surprised at all.. 😁
Why???
Because they don't have mistybear4!!!🙏 🙏 🙏
mistybear4 said:I'd love to hear some women chime in about being satisfied with something smaller... 😁
From what I can tell, even the big ones aren't doing it for you. 😎

Does anyone here have an academic subscription? Maybe we could pool resources and share the PDF?
My university has a subscription, but even they aren't letting me in—probably because someone isn't keeping up with the bills. 😉
If any of you manage to grab the article, please let me know...🙏
Swimming is my top pick, followed by running, tai chi, and pilates
but badminton? That’s my latest obsession!!!
mistybear4 said:First off, calling an older gentleman "uncle" isn't necessarily disrespectful—it's actually pretty common in places like Washington, D.C.—so I'm not sure what kind of school you're attending. And that comment about tending sheep? It makes zero sense... 🙂
Actually, it's true, "uncle" is the counterpart to "niece"!😂
rustymoose54 said:darkbison81, I'll just bring you those "diabetic chocolates" people give out when they're trying to be nice.
I usually just stash them in the fridge, because I save the real stuff for when I'm actually craving it.
I'm not sure, though—people claim the diabetic ones are actually good.
I haven't bothered checking.
The best ones are definitely those honey hearts made for diabetics (I might have to steal some from my wife).😛
darkbison81 said:Honestly, I know some old-school math professors who have their whole worldview based on chemistry majors. 😬 To them, biology students were just totally off the charts. 😁
Tell me about it! Luckily, the guys around here weren't exactly lining up to date them either—they mostly stuck to the chemistry girls. 😁
Woke up around 10:30 this morning (caught a midnight flight last night). Finally caught up on sleep!!! Now I’m getting back into my usual routine—bed by midnight, up at 6:30 😢 until my first free weekend 😉
Hannah Davis18 said:Same here. My watch, my phone, even my alarm clock—everything fails at 4:00 AM, but I just roll over and ignore it.
I remember one time my mom found me still fully dressed in bed; she woke me up for school, headed off to work, and then came back home to grab something.
In the meantime, I had eaten breakfast, gotten ready for class, and crawled right back under the covers.😁
😂 I did this back in college. I’d catch the 5:45 AM train into Chicago, set an alarm on my phone, and somehow sleep right through until 9:00 AM. Naturally, I blamed the service provider for not calling, but my mom insisted the phone had been ringing the whole time. I apparently got up, answered it, and went straight back to sleep... I have zero memory of it! 😵

Of course!
There isn't another profession out there that's this underpaid, forced into constant retraining, and—unlike doctors—doesn't have to resort to bribes just to get by (and even if they wanted to, there's nobody left to take them anyway)...
I’ve always felt bad seeing doctors struggling at the end of the month, barely able to afford a snack for their kids because the household budget is so tight, while the media won't cover it because they can't afford the coverage... so they end up begging for scraps. Meanwhile, at every big banquet, they're the first ones diving into the food buffet, acting like they don't have anything to eat at home...🤮
blood levels 😂 😂 😂
I'd go with the ranges 😵
I picked mine up from REI about a year ago for $500. I use it almost every single day for 30 to 60 minutes, and it still runs like it's brand new!!!
About 99% of students who enroll in Medical School get a permanent ego boost and act like they’re already seasoned physicians. Once they land a job, they demand astronomical salaries. Meanwhile, they work alongside other healthcare professionals—nurses, techs, and specialists—who spent four or five years in their own programs, yet have to pay out of their own pockets for continuing education, specialized training, and symposiums. They’re constantly begging someone else to cover their travel and registration fees, or they just scrape together enough savings to fund it themselves. At the same time, our precious doctors get their residencies fully funded, get sent to fancy international conferences—mostly for the travel rather than the actual learning—and collect daily stipends. Most other medical staff don't even get per diems; they usually have to burn through their vacation days because the hospital won't send them. On top of that, they teach at universities or colleges and juggle various research projects. They also handle the experimental components of massive master's and doctoral theses—work that most science departments wouldn't even recognize as anything more than a seminar paper. And even then, those other professionals often start out earning 20% less, barely reaching a base salary level even after pulling grueling shifts.
Kudos to the rare exceptions who don't insist on being called "Doctor" the second you meet them and don't solicit bribes just to see a patient, but there are far too few of them.
mistybear4 said:I honestly can't figure out what kind of food would actually help you. 😕
Have you tried using a straw? 👍 😁
That's my favorite!
High in fiber, huge portions, low calorie—and according to your theory, probably loaded with energy too!!!🤣
mistybear4 said:Look, if you're the expert, go ahead and do your own research. But things have moved forward massively in the last five years—or do you really think they haven't? 😕
The main thing is that you still think you're the "sane" one here. Maybe you'll end up calling him crazy in the end? 😁
Ha, listen to you! Plenty of people end up losing their minds eventually.
I'm a chemist, so according to your logic, I don't know the first thing about chemistry.
I guess I'll just go buy a small excavator after work and jump into construction instead!!!😁 😁 😁
mistybear4 said:Haha, my mistake. He’s actually part of the Herbalife scientific advisory team. He signed a lifetime contract because he finally "realized" what Herbalife is really about... 🙂
The guy worked for MERCK back when he was still sane. He helped them develop the analytical test for measuring blood NO levels—something that's been used as a routine screening in various US labs for five years now.😎
rustymoose54 said:driftinggull13 has a PhD in chemistry. So do I.
The logic just isn't clicking for us. It seems like chemists, biochemists, biologists, food scientists, and nutritionists are all completely clueless. Apparently, you need to be a civil engineer to be considered a legitimate dietary advisor. 🙂 🙄 🙄 🙄
mistybear4 said:I’m not going out to inspect how soy is grown right now—maybe when I have more cash on hand. For now, I'll just focus on getting to know a Nobel laureate (Dr. Louis Ignarro) and spending some time in his orbit... 👍
Whoops! That guy works for the very pharmaceutical industry you despise!!! How are you ever going to stomach that??? You've probably already been converted by those Herbalife preachers by now...
And meet you? I know plenty of construction workers, thanks!
