Did Josip Broz Marshall really have $2 billion? in Close to Politics ·
In the United States, there is one specific individual who, under very particular legal circumstances, has the authority to access bank account records and oversee related financial maneuvers.

Back when a certain university professor was attending a high-level seminar over there, he found himself in a discussion with this official regarding global money transfers, tax havens, and similar intricacies—and eventually, he got the chance to actually speak with this American official personally...

The professor mentioned that people from the former America have countless secret accounts—and get this—the official told him quite convincingly, "that former dictator of yours," implying he was sitting on several billion dollars...

Now, keep in mind, the professor shared this with us in a pretty private setting; it was just a few of us students, and the man truly knows his stuff when it comes to these matters...

So, whether this is absolute truth or just hearsay—we probably won't ever know for sure...

But honestly, it stands to reason that he would have maintained strategic reserves—you know, to secure his interests during his fall from power and all that...

Every dictator ousted from power anywhere in the world tends to flee their country as an incredibly wealthy person—it reminds me of that guy in Thailand who’s now a billionaire in England, pouring money into soccer clubs.
Šešelj destroys the witness in Close to Politics ·
I heard this urban legend about Vojislav Šešelj:
back when they were handing out doctorates, Josip Broz Marshall walks up and says, "Congratulations, Doctor," and Vojo just replies, "Thanks, boss"—since Marshall was a locksmith by trade.

Well, he ended up in prison, so that's that...

If I recall correctly, he was actually one of the youngest doctors in the field..

It just goes to show that even people with PhDs can be—and in most cases, are—complete and utter morons..

I couldn't agree more.

Columbo TV Series in Movies ·
Columbo is solid enough—but if you’ve actually paid attention, certain repetitive patterns start to grate on you after a while, making the whole thing feel almost too predictable.

Every single time he visits a suspect, he starts off interrogating them about some trivial, seemingly pointless detail involving his wife, which—surprise, surprise—always ends up being the key to cracking the case.

And then there’s that routine where he turns to leave the suspect, and you just know exactly what’s coming... He pauses, and right when you think he’s finally out the door, he hits them with that classic: "I have one more question!" or "Just one more question..."

It’s always that one pivotal, "gotcha" question that he suddenly remembers right at the end.
Resident Evil or just a human brain? in Movies ·
The movie is fine, I guess, but it lacks the depth of the actual games—where you don't even see Alice, you get characters like Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield instead.
Then in the second installment, you have Leon, and by the third, it's back to Jill along with some other random characters wandering through the woods.
Without a doubt, my absolute favorite character is Leon S. Kennedy.
I am seriously counting down the days until the fifth game drops; it’s going to be incredible on the PS3 and the new Xbox.
In the third game, they stay within the city limits before heading into the forest, yet in the movie, Alice is stuck out in some desert wasteland—what on earth does that have to do with the forest or Raccoon City???

No—this isn't some random rumor from a butcher shop; it’s being tracked by a federal agency using actual statistical modeling. I heard a highly respected professor mention it during a lecture—just a passing comment, really—but he was quite clear about it.

And if you actually take a moment to think about it, it's undeniably true...

I’m right there with you—I am a total carnivore...

Lamb... tender cuts... smash burgers... 🙂

Speaking of research—I remember reading a massive study on nutrition in a major US news outlet about a year back. They released some statistics suggesting that people who consume meat more frequently actually see an improvement in cognitive function. So, I guess it really is all relative...
Just like in that same article, there was data showing that vegetarians suffer from heart disease at significantly lower rates...

It depends on the individual, I suppose. Personally, I believe moderation is the gold standard for everything—whether we're talking about greens or steak...

Vegetarians are total hypocrites—they claim to love animals while literally stealing their food supplies 🙄

If you look at the cold, hard statistics—if every single person on this planet actually went vegetarian—the global population couldn't possibly sustain itself above maybe 2 billion people tops...
