We started chatting..
Gonna head out after work to pick up that beast. Maybe I'll finally get my turn this weekend.. 😉
nimblepilot29 said:So, this gentleman over here actually wrote a history of philosophy that we used to put together a brief introduction to Habermas. His name is Boris Kalin.
Ah Boris 😍 just some imaginary take on the essence of things 😍
nimblepilot29 said:You can find them in as many places as your heart desires! You just have to stretch your legs a little bit and let your mind wander right after...
Don't sweat it, I know 👍. It’s not something you just gulp down; it’s more like nibbling—small, sweet bites, then some downtime to actually think 🙂. Fuck, I'm already halfway through three books... If I pick up this one too 😕
nimblepilot29 said:And here is the specific booklet we'll be discussing...
Is this thing actually out in libraries yet? I dig the concept.👍
The heart is basically a perfect radar system—it picks up on every single one of my moods without missing a beat. It’s the only thing that doesn't lie to me 😉 . You can try to ignore it, sure, but you can't actually shut it up.
Kate Cox2 said:Anyone messed around with those O2Optix from Ciba Vision?? They look decent... maybe give 'em a shot??
I'm on Air Optix, also from Ciba Vision, so I'm guessing O2Optix are basically the same deal or close enough. Bottom line, they're a solid choice. 👍
Honestly, it feels like there's some new drama with these solutions every single week. 😠 How are we even supposed to know if the other brands aren't contaminated too? I don't actually use Complete, but I snagged a free sample bottle, so if things get annoying at work, I’ll just use that for a quick rinse.
I usually stick with Solo Aqua Care from CIBA Vision, and honestly, it's been solid so far. I wear O2Optix lenses.
Look, the breakouts aren't the actual issue (and who cares if you have acne anyway?), it's your mindset. Think about how much mental energy you're burning just obsessing over your face. How is your skin supposed to chill out when you're constantly sabotaging it? The root cause is deeper, probably some lack of self-confidence or something. It’s the same logic as people who use junk food to drown out their frustrations—the food isn't the problem; the problem is buried somewhere else. That's just basic psychology.
On the physical side, have you even seen a dermatologist? Your hormones might be totally out of whack, which shows up on your skin all the time. Go see a doctor.

The ego is totally necessary for surviving day-to-day life because it handles the controlling, the comparing, the limiting, and basically steers a person toward making progress. It’s what separates reality from fiction, allows for planning and procrastination to get things done, keeps you safe from danger, and tells you what's best for you in any given moment.
But even though the ego is vital for getting through daily life, it's also the exact foundation for most people's emotional and spiritual messes. Because of it, a person ends up living in a dualistic world, and it stops them from having any direct contact with their "true self."
That's why all those self-discovery techniques are basically just designed to find a way around it. 👍
There. That's the textbook breakdown of what I was just saying. 🙂
Arthur Grant4 said:Look, I’m not trying to be some yoga guru, a sage, an enlightened being, or some Zen master... I just want to figure out how to drop the baggage, like in that one Zen story. HOW?
The ego is nothing but dead weight. It serves zero purpose.
It’s like driving a pickup truck that’s constantly stuffed with trash, and then you wonder why there’s no room left inside.
What are you guys even talking about, this whole "get rid of the ego" thing? You actually need an ego to function in this life, in this dimension. The trick isn't killing it; it's keeping it on a short leash so it doesn't run wild. Don't let it take the wheel, mostly because we aren't our ego. You gotta get to know it, not treat it like some enemy. Honestly, I think only the immature types, just starting out on their spiritual journey, are actually terrified of the ego.
I've always had a massive amount of respect for people who can pull off stories like this. It takes serious guts to crawl out from the wreckage and actually win when your own family is the one dragging you through the mud. 🙂 👍
Bradley Cruz53 said:It’s pretty damn unfair how we don't all start from the same baseline. Some people are basically running the same race as everyone else, but they’re carrying a backpack full of bricks on their backs. You can’t just drop the pack, but you *can* choose not to spend the whole time looking over your shoulder, crying about how heavy it is. If your load is three times heavier than theirs, you’re going to end up three times stronger. And honestly, who do you think is the real badass at the finish line? The guy who crossed first, or the one who came in second while lugging around 65 pounds of extra weight? The crowd wouldn't even blink at the winner. Sometimes life throws us these absolute curveballs just so we end up being much better versions of ourselves than if we’d been born with a silver spoon in our mouths. Stay positive. Keep the faith.
Copied this from somewhere. 😉 But honestly, having that silver spoon handed to you can end up being a knife to the throat in the end...
I don't think narcissism has anything to do with how smart someone is. It’s more about their own twisted psyche and how they see themselves...
Thanks for the input 👍
Still doesn't click for me—how much beta carotene is actually too much before you start doing damage? 😎 People stack up on it right before summer thinking it’s some kind of sunscreen hack, but those doses blow way past the 2000 IU limit
Anyone know? Any specific red flags I should look out for?
Asking because I'm low-key terrified I might accidentally overdose on this supplement I'm taking. 😎
Anyone else on this? I’ve been tossing it back for a while now.
Got a question brewing. Since spirulina is loaded with beta carotene and Vitamin E—is there a risk of overkill? We all know slamming too many vitamins can actually mess you up.
The label says this:
daily dose breakdown:
*vitamin A (beta carotene) ___ 9000 IU or 180% DV—this part trips me up. How is it already at 180% of my daily needs? WTF??
* other vitamins... (not gonna list 'em all right now)
On the bright side, I definitely feel more wired since I started. No midday crash, which is a win. Plus, my skin looks killer.👍
Look, I’m just saying—I pointed out someone who most people would call ugly or off-putting, but to me? They’re attractive. A lot of those "conventionally beautiful" types don't even register on my radar. 😉
Douglas Brown4 said:I've also been attracted to plenty of idiots in photos before. It’s different in person. I doubt she'd even fall for Gerard if she saw him face to face without knowing who he was.
Nice way to frame a compliment—so they're "idiots" just because they didn't fall for you in person? If it's about being in the same room, then looks aren't even the main issue anymore, right?
Charles Grant7 said:I honestly have such a soft spot for this kind of nonsense. You only think he’s attractive because you’ve spent years watching him play those specific characters on screen; you're falling for the persona, not the actual man.
Nah, you don't get it at all. When I brought him up, I was talking about his look—he’s a bit of a mess, sure, but physically? He's got it.😉
"Unattractive" looks? If you’ve got charisma, who cares. You could probably pull some strings by cleaning up your act a bit—maybe play around with your style or grab a better haircut. I bet it’d make a difference. Then again, if you don't give a damn, that's on you, though a few little tricks might help. The real key is just owning it. Convincing yourself you're the man matters way more than worrying about what your partner thinks of your face. Just don't turn into a total narcissist about it.
Take Gerard Depardieu, for instance. He’s gorgeous because he’s imperfect. Total sex symbol to me. 😍
