I really love how nobody in this film is actually to blame for anything. Or, if you want to look at it another way, everyone carries an equal share of the guilt for what went down. I don't know if that makes sense... damn, it's too early, my brain isn't fully awake yet.
Watched it yesterday and wasn't exactly blown away. It’s okay, I guess, but given the cast and their reputations, I was expecting sharper jokes and more edge. I suppose they weren't aiming for a parody, just a tribute. Still, there are some great moments, especially with Ben Stiller. 6.5/10
The movie is "supercalifragilistic" (haven't used that word in ages, but it fits this flick). Jason Biggs seems to have a subscription for playing losers. Regardless, he did a solid job. Christina Ricci is good too, and she looks great. Still, the old guard is the best part. Woody Allen and Danny DeVito are incredible, especially Woody Allen. Especially that scene where the loser crashes the car 😂
Watched it yesterday. It’s a great film. The story, the acting, everything just clicked. I didn't even feel like I was watching a German movie... Definitely one of my top five so far this year.
I would have loved it, except for one thing that really ticked me off... the way the crowd was acting so wild. I felt like I had to defend myself from the judge, so I ended up hitting him. Everyone there was out of shape, and yeah, I’m out of shape too, so what. I just don't have a voice, which sucks... I can't really hold a conversation properly.
Anthony Rogers24 said:I actually own both albums, and honestly, they're both pretty mediocre. They feel like a real breath of fresh air to me, though. I don't think you can pin down any specific influences on the originals... especially with how much they use keyboards...
No influences at all, except for that Tom Waits cover. Hmm, that sounds like an influence to me... 👋
I'd recommend Ideal Husband with All due respect. It's based on the work by Oscar Wilde. The cast is great too... Rupert Everett, Cate Blanchett, Minnie Driver, Julianne Moore.
Watched it yesterday and the movie is fantastic. The subject matter is shocking, but honestly, when I walked out of the theater, I felt good just having seen another film that calls out the Catholic Church. We need more movies like this...
Campbell Scott is great as this charming, smooth-talking player, and Jesse Eisenberg plays his eager protégé who heads to New York City hoping Scott can teach him how to actually pull.
If anyone else has seen it, let me know what you thought...
