But then you’ve got that whole "it’s just about showing up" argument.
People love talking about the "moral victory" too, especially when the refs absolutely botch a call.
Honestly, if you're someone who's been screwed over by bad officiating your entire career, you'll appreciate a real, hard-fought win more than anyone else.
As for that, hmm, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens once William Richardson12 and Altec weigh in on the topic. There’s a decent little dive bar just a few minutes from Main Square, so maybe we could head there? But honestly, if more than six of us show up, it might get a bit awkward since the tables are pretty tiny.
Go ahead and drop some of those ideas from the chat here too. Let's see if we can actually hammer something out—whether it's about the Comedy Studio or any of those other wild ideas floating around.
So, back when I used to have my satellite radio running, Sunday nights were my little ritual. It was like a slow prelude to the work week ahead. I’d tune into these stations out of Germany or Austria—most of them would just spin nothing but ballads on Sunday evenings. You know, the classics like Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, T Pau, Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, maybe some Lionel Richie or Johnny Logan. Just pure, easy listening to help me unwind.
I mean, that kind of vibe definitely wouldn't work for me on a Saturday morning, right? When I was listening to those stations more regularly, I actually knew their whole programming schedule by heart.
Even with our local American stations, a lot of them lean into that mellow, easygoing stuff on Sunday nights too. Though, I guess during the summer, the programming shifts a bit. Maybe it's just those Sunday nights creating a bit too much nostalgia for me.
Anyway, sometimes music is just my favorite way to escape reality.
I’m really hoping so! We’re going to try to get everything confirmed sometime tomorrow during the day for our upcoming meetup. It’ll probably just be a quick little stroll near Times Square.
That’s just my take on it, I guess. Maybe it’s just this constant urge to figure out who I really am.
It feels like hard work doesn't get nearly as much respect as it used to, you know? Instead, people just jump all over your tiny little mistakes. Man, life can be pretty bitter sometimes.
Jerry Scott said:That's interesting. I had no idea there were meetups happening in other parts of the country too. Why wasn't I told?! 😲
I would love to join you all, but honestly, I wouldn't want to cause any emotional distress to the folks at the Psychic.
well Honestly, I could write a whole book on being emotional.
But seriously, swing by sometime! The US crew is starting to pull together, and I've been out at a few US hangouts myself, so you're more than welcome to show up.
Usually there's just four or five of us, but sometimes we'll get seven or more if the timing works out right. It's easy to make happen.
