Sure, sure... I'll check it out 🙂
Dammit, even the files barely have any seeders...😢

horror fans 🙂
Sorry, this is a members-only site.
I just can't be bothered to register...
copperridge912 said:as someone once put it, the best part of this whole movie is the scenery...😁
hard to argue with that logic...🙂
The main thing is that the movie is excellent, and I’d recommend it to anyone... honestly, it’s probably the best horror film of the year. 🙂
Ethan Perez97 said:Besides, they just stumbled upon a massive pile of bones...😕
Well, yeah, because those things head out under the cover of night to hunt, kill whatever they find, and drag the carcass back to their cave to feed... that’s where the bones come from...
Jose Chase2 said:the description you left on my blog is pretty terrible, check your DMs😬
hardly any worse than my own descriptions...😁 👋 👋
So, I finally sat down and watched the movie.
I have to admit, it isn't half bad; it’s engaging and maintains enough tension to keep you hooked, which is what matters most, so I’d probably give it a solid 6/10 by IMDb standards. There are some strong scenes, and the direction is top-notch...
but now, Big time SPOILERS !!!!
Now, for what didn't work for me. The script is just weak. How is someone supposed to undergo mutation in a place where there’s absolutely no food supply? If people from several centuries ago had wandered into those caves and realized they were trapped... they would have simply starved to death after exhausting whatever supplies they brought with them. Not to mention the timeline issues, claiming this mutation takes thousands of years when America wasn't even being explored like that until the late 15th century...
Furthermore, if we're talking about cavemen living there for millennia... why on earth would anyone choose to live in a cave and evolve that way when everything they need—food, water, fire, sunlight, Vitamin D—is right outside... and if that's the case, then what was the point of bringing in those miners who were supposedly there a hundred years ago??
I stumbled upon an interesting theory on IMDb suggesting the monster wasn't actually real, but rather that the girls were all hallucinating; the most level-headed one died while trying to help the Asian girl, who ended up killing her... Honestly, if you look closely, it’s entirely possible given how unstable the central plot is, with creatures mutating inside a cave, come on guys, be serious...🙂

Horror equals...
I guess I have to watch it...
😁
Look, you've got this thread about the movie, but honestly, I wouldn't bother reading it if I were you—it’s absolutely loaded with spoilers.
I still remember how everyone here ruined The Village for me back in the day, so it's probably best to just stay away from any threads until after you've actually seen the film...🙂
The Descent
cro Fag said:Exactly... instead of actually making something new, they just churn out endless remakes of the classics
🙄
heh, looks like we're getting close to a Descent remake😁 😁
cro Fag said:it was originally inspired by some cannibalistic family from a cave in Scotland
I wasn't aware of that, send me a link if you have one...
Everything from Jean-Claude Van Damme 😁
But seriously, when you look at Martin Scorsese and his body of work—Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino... the man is a straight-up genius
cro Fag said:It’s just excessive...
there isn't any actual horror here, just a mindless reliance on shock value and pure sadism...
Clearly, you haven't actually experienced what a brutal horror film looks like...
cro Fag said:What really got to me was the implication that this was based on a true story...
🙄
Such a blatant lie...
🙄
The movie is supposedly inspired by the life of Ed Gein, that serial killer from Wisconsin, so if you're interested, look him up online; he may have only killed two people, but the man was a necrophile who dug bodies out of graves and decorated his house with skulls and bones, not to mention skinning his victims... basically, TCM is pure fiction, even if it uses a template...
Walter Fowler53 said:Honestly, there’s just so much missing from this film... I won't even get into the specifics right now, but man, what a total mess... 😱 Terrifying... It’s been a long time since I sat through a horror film this brutal, especially since most of what Hollywood churns out lately are just mindless blockbusters that lack any real substance or soul... but this one is something else entirely...😲
😁
It isn't exactly a masterpiece, nor is it particularly brutal, but by today’s Hollywood standards, it holds its own... Personally, I found Wrong Turn to be a better experience than most of those recent big-budget horror releases...
fuzi_s_tartufima said:it would be a solid plan if someone else tossed out a random topic so we could actually dive into it...
well, here's a random one, and I'll take the lead on talking it up...
Larry Ramirez10 said:Ha, ha, ha... Just how many hippies have you crossed paths with to harbor this much resentment?
On a different note, your breakdown of just how "stupid" things were was actually quite spot on.
Ugh, I just realized I'm wasting my breath quoting some bratty kid.
What, is Raven your favorite movie or something?
I actually find metalheads more tolerable than hippies, so you can imagine the level of disdain I feel.
Yeah, that movie was so mindless it was physically painful to sit through.
Quoting a rude little kid who the mods have had to shut down multiple times... obviously, I'm aiming at the film moderator. 🙂
If we're being serious though, my favorite film is probably The Deer Hunter... 🙂
Carl Torres3 said:I’ve got the subtitle for the Xvid DVDrip, check it out over at http://www.divx-titlovi.com/
Exactly, it works fine, so I guess I'll finally get around to watching the movie tomorrow...🙂
Come on, everyone, just shoot me a DM if you have the subtitles for this 25000 version... I can't be the only one who actually bothered downloading it...
Larry Ramirez10 said:🙄
Go ahead, if you find it too "hippie" for your taste, fine...
but why don't you actually explain why it's supposedly so stupid?
A movie is a product of its era. Those tripod shots in the cemetery are incredibly well done. Plus, the film works perfectly as a critique of the American society and establishment of that time—and even today. 👋
I never cared for Hopper as a director, nor his films for that matter. And since I absolutely despise those hypocritical hippie bastards from the bottom of my soul, it should be obvious why I can't stand this movie. The 60s sucked...👎 plus I don't do drugs, so maybe that’s why I don't like it; you can only really appreciate this film if you're on some kind of acid trip... not to mention how boring the soundtrack is.
I'm not usually this vulgar... 😁
Finally got around to downloading it today 🙂
