Just like in real life, you get back exactly what you put out into the world.
If you feel like everyone is being rude, misunderstanding you, or just jumping down your throat, you have to admit you share some of the blame.
I stopped pointing fingers at people for how they act once I realized that my own vibe was largely responsible for how they reacted to me.
Don't get me wrong, I haven't changed who I am, but at least I'm finally honest with myself about it.

So, I completely disagree with the idea that this Forum is a place where people are ruder, more intolerant, or stupider (not to mention uglier) than they are in RL.

Then again, maybe I’m just being biased because my sample size is a bit selective, right?!

I totally get that raw, rookie honesty from you—that feeling of being completely fed up with how "unfair" everything is—but just hear me out for a second. Is Reddit really such a skewed reflection of the world around you? Even if you look closely, isn't the mix here pretty much the same as anywhere else: a blend of the stubborn, negative, and insecure types alongside the smart, kind, and genuinely positive people?
Don't take this place too literally; honestly, a lot of the people on here are way more charming and easygoing in RL when they're actually trying to be the exact opposite of their online personas.

Gregory Harris4 said:The movie is based on a brilliant book by James Jones, who I honestly think is the best war writer out there. If you haven't read him, consider this my highest recommendation—I think some old publisher out of New York put out a translation back in the 70s or 80s. His most famous work is "from now until eternity." Unfortunately, the book is massive; they really could have made two or three movies out of it instead of this rushed version.

Man, those were the days for books! 🙂

When it comes to the soundtrack, I kept thinking my CD player had died because I wouldn't hear a thing for minutes at a time😁
It’s such a niche, insular film.
Even though the audience at the local AMC was practically standing up and cheering by the time the credits rolled...
There’s actually some merit to trying out those 'fruit days'! 👍
I’ve experienced Dark in totally different ways at different times; it all really comes down to what phase of life I’m in and the energy I’m putting out there, so there's no point questioning his worth. If he didn't have value, he wouldn't be hitting us this hard. At the end of the day, personal experience is just a matter of taste, perspective, and whatever else you bring to the table. Art is an interactive thing—I don't see myself as just some passive observer soaking it up.
I’m all for the witch hunt.

Gregory Myers said:Like I mentioned, I’ve been running a low fever for about two months now. Finally ran into a doctor who was maybe a bit too thorough—she had me pull ten vials of blood today, even though I already gave three just ten days ago. My head has been spinning ever since, and it’s been about ten hours since they drew it all. Should I be worried, and what’s the best way to bounce back quickly?
heeeeeeeelp

You're honestly holding up pretty well considering how much they drained out of you..
I’d be passed out on the floor by now...:🙄
What on earth are they doing with all that blood?!
Seriously....🙄

When are we going to start doing blood work in a way that doesn't feel like torture? 😠

Besides, who’s actually going to tell the difference between Japanese or Chinese productions anyway? They both just fall under the same umbrella term.
In this whole "wuxia" cinema craze, they don't even bother mentioning South Koreans.
Just my two cents.

Ugh, I know that struggle all too well!
It’s not even about physical pain—there isn't any real pain involved. It's just this subjective, nasty feeling that eventually leaves you completely wiped out and horizontal.
It has nothing to do with being brave; I've just accepted that it's baked into my DNA (or maybe it's some leftover baggage from my past, who knows?)😉
Whenever I have to deal with it, I make sure to give my team at the clinic a heads-up about my issues so they know how to act around me. If everything goes smoothly, I still need to stay in bed because that damn fainting spell usually hits when you least expect it, acting like some delayed reaction.

Who knows? Maybe it all starts because of some clumsy mistake by an inexperienced technician, and then it develops into what we're dealing with now through a conditioned reflex.
The people who ask, "Well, what are you looking at when you feel sick?" are the absolute worst. Like, where else would I be if I were actually looking?! No, the whole trick is that I'm just lost in my own head.

That cream is actually used in hospitals for pediatric lab tests. Honestly, if it works for you even as a placebo—take it!! Anything is better than going through that entire ordeal.

Besides, I wouldn't really classify this under 'white coat syndrome,' since that's a much broader concept than what I'm experiencing!

Apparently Helen didn't even bother wearing underwear under that dress, which is just one more little detail to round out her true character. 😉
And hey, if she decided to vote for herself, who cares? It’s still better than some Academy voting posthumously after 125 years.

I’m genuinely glad that at least one Oscar (assuming I actually find the guy relevant) ended up in the hands of such a sophisticated, talented, and truly impressive lady—I mean it with nothing but pure respect! 🙏 (Fine, let me toss this in there too, hopefully for the first and last time)

I could never quite get into this movie; that constant, overwhelming "beauty" that’s clearly just begging for applause really gets on my nerves. I honestly wish they’d gotten their hands a little dirty with it.
My two cents.
Brittle, peeling nails: any tips? in Health ·
I've been dealing with a ton of issues lately. I’ve been using Orly nail polish to help get things back on track, but honestly, if I really want to fix this mess for good, I should probably just move to another planet where stress and all these other little "factors" don't exist.
Sex and Violence in Health ·
My sister ended up in the ER after some massive hemorrhaging—doctors think it was fibroids, though I didn't check if she'd had sex right before it happened.
Either way, this definitely isn't just what happens when someone's being too rough in bed, that's for sure.
Unless we're talking about sexual assault or domestic violence, which is a whole different level of horrific.

silenthound45 said:Can someone please tell me how that movie ended? I totally passed out halfway through... honestly, it was just so riveting...👎

I actually drifted off too. I couldn't wrap my head around the whole point of it or why they even made it, so I just checked out, but then I heard a rumor that the ending is absolutely insane and that I probably shouldn't have even bothered watching it.😱
Now, obviously, I'm losing my mind because I just HAVE to finish it.🙄 😁

I honestly can't decide if I actually liked it or not; I'm feeling completely indifferent, and frankly, I'd be better off if it hadn't clicked with me at all.
As for Jennifer Connelly, I'm with a few people here... there's just something about her that doesn't sit right with me. It's not even about her acting talent, it's just that she doesn't leave a truly objective impression, if that makes sense. She feels a bit too provocative for my taste.
The Queen in Movies ·
What I actually loved about the movie was how they portrayed The Queen as this "eternal wonder in a modern world." It’s like she was genuinely baffled by the raw, massive emotional outbursts of the common people—as if she’d just woken up from a centuries-long nap into a world she doesn't even recognize anymore.
I’d call the film Awakening.😎
Besides, the movie doesn't really dive deep into the inner workings of the Royal Family, Princess Diana, or what life in America was like back then; it’s all about the vibe and the impression left behind, so it isn't some niche thing meant just for Americans.
