So, something pretty stupid happened to me yesterday. I misjudged a jump and completely wrecked my ankle. I rushed straight to the ER, they gave me a referral for surgery, sent me off for imaging, and then I headed back to the surgical department. Once they finally looked at everything, they told me I’d really done a number on it... But hey, no fractures showed up on the scans. They slapped me in a splint immediately and told me I need to stay off it (which is funny, because I actually thought I could just roll out onto the soccer field with the splint on 😁), and now I have to go back to the trauma ward in a week for a follow-up. It hurts like hell, though; this splint is squeezing my ankle and the pain right around the joint is intense, but I guess that’s probably "normal." This is actually the first time I've ever injured my leg or any part of my body, so I'm basically clueless here. I've been taking Ibuprofen—just one last night and one this morning. I'm only writing all this because a comment from Alex Chavez4 spooked me a little bit... "Your leg might give out after a month or so, but you'll always deal with the issues that lead to even bigger problems later on." For now, I assume I just have to wait for the appointment and suffer through the pain since I'm stuck in this splint and can't exactly apply any ointments or anything... or can I?
People, please, let’s not forget that mediocre Lewis Hamilton had the absolute BEST car on the track... but not only did he fail to deliver, he basically trashed everything he could for McM, making him, in my humble opinion, the biggest loser in Formula 1...
I voted for Heikki Kovalainen because with the Renault, he actually showed what he was capable of without ever whining about having a worse car than Fisichella or whatever else... he drives properly, stays out of trouble, and honestly, hats off to him... If Kimi Räikkönen moves on in a few years, I think I'll officially start rooting for Heikki Kovalainen and just hope he finally gets his shot at being a world champion once in his life.
So, I finally sat down and watched this yesterday... honestly, it was pretty decent. I don't really get why some people are tearing it apart; it actually holds up quite well for me. The Silver Surfer parts were cool, and I thought the actresses did a solid job too. 😉 8/10

Seriously, what kind of off-topic nonsense is this, and in which private thread even? Doesn't "private" actually mean private messages or DMs? I'm struggling to see how anyone could manage to talk about anything off-topic in there.
I actually wanted to go for a moderator spot myself... but they told me someone had complained about me and that I'm still too much of a newbie here... To be fair, I agree that I'm pretty new, so I kind of gave up on the whole moderator thing anyway... besides, I heard it’s a massive headache... so I just told myself to let it go and stay out of the drama... But you obviously aren't "new" around here... so, best of luck to you...
Man, listen... that road is way longer than you think. You might want to just take a hint from me and call it quits now before you waste too much time. It’s technically worth it eventually, I guess, but it takes forever to actually get there. If you’re really that obsessed, though, head over to the "Questions & Comments" subforum and browse some threads; you'll see how people actually climb the ladder to become a moderator.

Is there any way to actually get a hold of an admin or one of the big shots running this place? Or, to put it more bluntly... how am I supposed to figure out who the admins are or who holds a rank higher than a moderator?
