The title pretty much covers it.
I’m looking to get my hands on this "EpiPen" as soon as possible—my little one (only 18 months old) tested incredibly allergic to peanuts during a recent skin prick test.
Our pediatrician suggested we look abroad since it isn't available here in the States—they mentioned either picking one up in Mexico or trying to order it through a specialty pharmacy locally.
Apparently, there's about a month-long wait for those orders.
Since we live quite close to the border, I was wondering if anyone has purchased one in Mexico or perhaps further south, and if so, what did you end up paying?
The doctor estimated the cost would be around $220, noting that one dose lasts about a year.😲
Does anyone know of a more affordable option closer to home?

Anyone?

Anyone have experience with JP Morgan Chase? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
A quick question for the parents out there.

We finally stopped putting money into that savings plan suggested by a teller at JP Morgan Chase—instead, we were withdrawing $300 every month (like most people probably do) just to funnel it all into a specialized housing savings account.
Last summer, we made a lump-sum deposit for each child totaling $1.75—based on the advice that this would secure our right to the $250 incentive—plus the expected interest. We were told this covered us for the entire year.
Then, toward the end of the year, I received notices stating I still needed to deposit either $600 or $267 to qualify for the $250 incentive.
When I went back to the bank, the explanation was simple: if I don't pay up, I just get a smaller incentive 🙄
At the start of the year, my statement showed a total balance of $570.13—converted from USD$1431. 😲
It also noted that for 2011, I am eligible for incentives amounting to $210

Now, I’m left wondering: what happened to the difference in my actual deposits? Based on these numbers, it looks like even with the incentives and interest, I’ll end up with less than what I originally put in.

I went back to the branch, but the representative just kept pointing at spreadsheets showing projected growth over five years. I didn't get a straight answer—other than being told they are a "reputable firm" and that people still sign up for these plans. 🙄

Could someone who has been saving this way for a while explain—in plain English—what happens to that discrepancy? Honestly, I'm hesitant to put more money in for this year. What does your statement actually show? (Feel free to DM me)

Thanks in advance for any help.
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·

I've got a wedding coming up in September and I'm totally lost on what's actually in bloom then. I wouldn't call myself a flower person, but I'm obsessed with gerberas. Is that even an "appropriate" choice for a bouquet or decorating the venue?

That really just comes down to your own personal taste. 😉
In my opinion—gerberas aren't quite right for a handheld bouquet, but they work beautifully in centerpieces since they are so bold and budget-friendly.
It all depends on your color scheme: if you go with lavender, perhaps include some lavender; if it's yellow, maybe sunflowers? Or if the theme is white, you could pair calla lilies with roses—which feel almost mandatory at this point.
Nescafé or Turkish coffee? in Miscellaneous ·
I only take my Nescafe with milk—specifically the 3.2% fat kind. Anything else just feels watery, doesn't it?
There isn't a soul on this earth who could convince me to drink plain coffee.
Here is my story too.

My mother was diagnosed with AML four years ago—it happened so suddenly...

She had been feeling wonderful; she only ever saw her doctor for routine checkups, and those results always came back perfectly fine. Then, after a month of this terrible coughing, she went in—and of course, the blood work showed absolutely nothing was within a normal range.
On top of that, she was constantly exhausted and felt this burning sensation in her legs.
By the second day, she was already admitted to the hospital in Chicago to start chemotherapy. Her immune system plummeted, her hair fell out... then came the second round, then the third... and eventually, a bone marrow transplant.
After two long years of suffering and enduring the absolute worst while in isolation, she actually reached remission. She was sent home and felt mostly normal, aside from the occasional follow-up appointment.

Her numbers were never exactly stellar, though I suppose you can't really expect that with a disease like this.
This year, however, her levels began to drop. The doctors chalked it up to being normal, and since she still felt okay, we didn't worry too much. At her last checkup, the doctor mentioned that if the counts continued to slide, she might need occasional transfusions—but he wanted to let her body try to fight it on its own first? He warned us that once you start relying on transfusions, the body loses that ability to fight independently.

Now, for several days, she’s been coughing heavily again. She is perpetually tired and just wants to sleep. I'm terrified that these are the exact same symptoms she had four years ago.
Her doctor wasn't available today, so she has to go in tomorrow. I don't know what the blood work will show yet, but my gut tells me this isn't good news.

I'm writing this in a rush—so please excuse any lack of clarity or rambling—so feel free to ask for details.
There are so many posts here that I can't keep up with everything, but I am specifically wondering: what have you found to be the fastest, most effective way to "boost" platelet counts? (At her last checkup, they were down to 30).

She has already tried just about everything under the sun—alternative medicine, changing sleeping positions, visiting energy healers, even crystal therapy...

Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much!
I would love to hear from anyone who has experience using royal jelly—both in general wellness and specifically regarding leukemia treatment—if you could share your stories. What kind of daily dosage do people typically find effective?

There seems to be so much conflicting advice out there—some suggest more is better, while others warn that taking too much might actually be harmful.🤷

Thank you all so much in advance for your help!
