northerncrane4 said:So you've read a ton of reviews for American movies, huh?

Honestly—I'd say I've just watched way too many American movies.

What's mine? Look, I don't do film criticism. And man, you should see the types who make a career out of it—you clearly thought I was one of them.

Anyway, all that stuff they drill into your heads at college or those fancy seminars—wherever you pick up all that "expert" knowledge—you can basically just toss it in the trash.

Critics, regardless of which outlet they write for, if they aren't doing it my way... well, what's even the point of them? Seriously.

Especially with movies—I mean, film is such a fast-moving medium that doesn't really care about the past. Plus, let's be real, movie audiences are pretty mindless; otherwise, they wouldn't watch anything, or at least, they wouldn't flock to the same blockbusters over and over.

So I'll say it again: if you have some formal film degree, especially an American one, do us all a favor and just lose it.

The main reason? American cinema.

Case closed.

Totally off-topic. 😁 😁 😁 🙂

northerncrane4, you little stalker—why are you even following my every move on here?! 😲 😁

northerncrane4 said:It's a deal. Honestly, you're always the first person I think of whenever I need an excuse to push something off.

It’s just easier for you to open your eyes.

(just don't go stealing this line for some cheap indie movie 😎 )

Well, why doesn't Paul Mendoza8 just film you then? You could watch that instead of porn. 🙂 🙂

northerncrane4 said:Now FOX is gonna drop a show about movies, except they definitely won't.

Yeah, right—as if I’m the editor-in-chief or something. Just watch the show, maybe you'll actually learn something for once. 😎

northerncrane4 said:Yeah. It’s about the movie mentioned in the review title.

What are you even rambling about? Did some big paycheck land in your account or something—is that why you've been talking trash since sunrise? Get real. 😁

Dennis Martin6 said:The movie would’ve been way better if that charming Native American stablehand had just stuffed his hunk of a man into an oven. As it stands? Kind of a letdown.😢

Nah, they'll save that for the sequel—maybe set in Chicago.

northerncrane4 said:A review is basically just info about the movie. The critic's perspective is secondary—and if they're actually good at their job, you shouldn't even notice it's there.

Come on, don't be such a nerd. A review is mostly about interpreting the film—digging for symbols, comparing it to other movies, and all that. It's info about the movie. Seriously? You *are* the info about the movie. 😁

Paul Mendoza8 said:I can't believe we actually met—I've seriously never been to a proctologist before.

Well, damn—guess you aren't exactly a world-class woman then, huh?

northerncrane4 said:Neither me nor Paul Mendoza8 are Boris.

Alright, I didn't realize you guys were *that* famous—no need to be so full of yourselves.

northerncrane4 said:Oh right, I totally forgot you’re one of those people who critiques stuff by just summarizing what happens in the movie or show.

Look, let me break this down for you—if MetLife is a bad movie and you say it is, then honestly? I’d rather just read Taylor Swift's review and watch the whole thing in my head. It's about the reality of illusion versus the illusion of reality... which is way too deep for this thread, anyway.

northerncrane4 said:So how am I supposed to know if I'm right or if Romanov's sister is right? Film criticism isn't exactly a playground for explaining your entire worldview.

People don't write reviews just to prove they're right. Honestly, film criticism is *exactly* where you lay out your own perspective on life.

We're just looking at this from totally different angles.

Paul Mendoza8 said:You forgot to drop the biggest detail—are you and Taylor Swift actually buddies? Or what, you just a huge fan of the celebrity circle? 🙏

I don't really know Taylor Swift—but when it comes to the big names, I definitely know MrBeast and you. 😍 😍

northerncrane4 said:But you haven't even seen the movie—how many times do I have to tell you?

What does that even have to do with anything? You saw it, so you're the one who should be explaining it, not me. I haven't seen it yet—how many times am I gonna say that?

northerncrane4 said:But who is it even for, man? And why? You just want a free pass to enjoy my wordplay—maybe even steal some ideas for one of your short stories?

It’s for me, buddy—for me and the people. I don't write these things for stories; I go to those dive bars just to hunt for the good stuff. 😁

northerncrane4 said:I don't know, I just noticed you haven't really acknowledged my totally "sub-intellectual" take on the movie we watched...

Sorry, but honestly? I’m mostly focusing on two things here:
a) your super dry critique
b) Taylor Swift's amazing review

And when I compare the two—well, let's just say your authority is looking pretty shaky.

Plus, you aren't even trying to clean up that messy brain dump of yours—you know, unlike that intern at the local shop who actually organizes things? Not happening.

I really thought you'd be able to squeeze out at least one smart sentence about the film.

Still waiting on it.

northerncrane4 said:Man, if that's what works for you, who am I to judge? But honestly, it looks like you're just dying to drag Paul Mendoza8 back into this. Talk about being obsessed. 😢

Nah, she’s actually (finally) pivoting everything she wants to know about me over to my DMs—because apparently, as soon as I show up anywhere, she suddenly needs to ask me stuff that’s way too personal. So yeah, you're totally wrong if you think I'm trying to pull her back into the thread.
I'll bring her back when she starts asking about what I had for breakfast or my bathroom schedule, since clearly that's all she cares about. Total typical groupie vibes, right? 😎
MetLife in Movies ·
Who else would you even be talking to if I hadn't shown up? Some random guy? Man, you should seriously be thanking your lucky stars that I stumbled upon this. 😁 😁
MetLife in Movies ·
northerncrane4, are you actually here to talk about the movie or just to obsess over me? Look, I get it—I'm easy on the eyes—but saying I'm more attractive than a trans person? 😎 🙂 😁 😁

northerncrane4 said:Can you even imagine? Two totally different people watch the exact same movie and walk away with completely opposite takes—yet both can back up their arguments perfectly! And get this, they both work for the so-called "liberal media." It’s unheard of in the history of cinema.

Nah, let's be real. One person actually watched the movie, while the other just... sat there. Taylor Swift caught all the little details, whereas this guy probably showed up exhausted and slept through half the screening. Plus, who knows how much he's getting paid for these reviews? Can't really blame him for slacking off. 😁
