I mean, I don't know exactly what kind of injury we're talking about here, but wouldn't you think they'd suggest getting some light movement in already?
Just ask them! Honestly, the biggest headache with our healthcare system is that we basically have to Google everything ourselves just so we can show up to appointments and hit the doctors with "smart" questions. It’s like there’s no proactive guidance to just walk you through the process before you even ask.
My advice? Type that diagnosis into a search engine and do your own digging. Then, once you actually know what's going on, head over to the orthopedic specialist and grill them with all those questions you found.
Well, they mentioned something along the lines of five to eight weeks. Nothing about using a crutch or putting any weight on my leg.
To be honest, I don't even feel brave enough to put my foot on the ground yet.
So, I’ve been dealing with this busted leg for about a month now. Basically, my tibia snapped right down near the ankle.
I ended up having surgery where they went in and installed ten screws and a metal plate to hold everything together. No cast for me, though.
Everything on the surface looks like it's healing up pretty well, but honestly, I’m still too terrified to put any real weight on it.
The actual pain is gone, thank God.
Does anyone have a clue how much longer it’ll take before I can actually put some pressure on it? I just want to be able to press down on a clutch hard enough to drive myself around again...
The heart of California is honestly pretty stunning.
One of the best parts about agritourism is that you get to dig into home-cooked meals made with ingredients that are super fresh and grown right there on the spot.
I really think we could pull in a lot of our local guests with setups like that.
I mean, what do I know? It feels like some folks just haven't truly left their small-town roots behind yet, so they don't quite vibe with the city life the way Vani does.
Walking around the countryside is honestly pretty chill and scenic, but let me tell you, the idea of hauling manure around or spreading hay just doesn't do anything for me. Not my cup of tea at all!😁 😁
You know, you sometimes get this feeling that life is just playing some cruel joke on you. A buddy of mine had this girl he was seeing—she was from Boston and he was a local New Yorker. They were both just twenty-three back during the chaos of the early '90s. She was trapped in the middle of all that war zone madness in Boston, unable to step foot outside, while he was doing everything humanly possible to find a way to get her out safely. Honestly, the poor girl managed to dodge sniper fire more times than I can count.
After the United Nations pulled back their massive presence and the European Union observers finally cleared the way, they managed to get her out. Everyone was celebrating, thinking the nightmare was over and they could finally start their lives together. But then, just a few months after she arrived here in Washington, D.C., she got diagnosed with breast cancer that had already spread to her lungs. It was brutal. After a few months of grueling radiation and chemo, she passed away in the winter of '94. She was only twenty-five.
It really makes you wonder what kind of twisted hand fate is dealing us.
So, I was wondering, have you guys gone ahead and gotten vaccinated yet? And honestly, do you think it’s even worth it if you're still young😁 and feeling totally healthy?
If you’re dealing with hemorrhoids, honestly, just go for a rinse with some cold water—it really helps.
Also, word of advice if you ever find yourself out hiking in the woods and things get messy: whatever you do, do NOT try to wipe yourself with a fig leaf unless you want a massive disaster on your hands.
It's one of those old-school Southern legends I heard once.😁 😁
I am definitely feeling the Removal Machin vibes right now. I actually just scored a CD that has the entire complete works of the Cult on MP3, which is such a win. They’re hitting different lately, especially when I’m out on the road—I just blast them through the car speakers at full volume and let the music take over.
So, I’ve got this buddy from out of town asking me if I’ve heard about some kind of alternative treatment for liver cirrhosis that’s being manufactured right over in NYC. Has anyone here ever come across anything like that?
Honestly, I’ve been basking in the Phoenix my entire life. It’s one of those things where if the light hits me just a little too hard, I immediately have to squint or look away toward anything even remotely dim just to catch my breath. Once you finally get that relief, though, you're good to go.
I really just assumed everyone else felt the exact same way about it.
If you’re thinking about sitting down to watch this, honestly, do yourself a favor and skip it. I can't even remember the last time I sat through a Movie that was this incredibly dull.
It felt like Spielberg was just coasting on autopilot here.
I spent my entire teenage years absolutely obsessed with The Ramones.
I’m honestly so stoked that I actually got to catch one of their Concerts back in Chicago (though, if I'm being real, I can't quite wrap my head around which year it actually was)
I still own pretty much all their albums, though most of my old vinyl collection has somehow vanished into thin air—probably borrowed by friends and never returned, haha
Man, I used to be such a social smoker, you know? It was just part of the routine—having one first thing in the morning with my coffee, and then usually grabbing another one later in the evening, maybe around 10 PM. But honestly, I haven't even touched a cigarette in over a year now.
The truth is, I couldn't even come up with a single real reason why I was doing it in the first place. Now, everything just smells like smoke, and I can practically feel it whenever my neighbor downstairs is out on his balcony.
So, I’ve got Bart running at 200 x 12 with 1GB of 3200 memory under the hood. Temps are sitting pretty at 41°C while idling, and even after letting it rip all night burning DVDs with the case completely closed up, the CPU only climbed to 61°C. I'm pushing the voltage to 1.725, and honestly, everything is rock solid. Once I get a chance to run some actual benchmarks, I might try to squeeze out a little more speed, though I'm not entirely sure if there's much point in chasing those extra numbers right now.
Man, some advice is worth its weight in gold!!! ...and that goes for even what you hear from HANS
Seriously, don't go flashing other BIOS versions... I'm sticking with the latest 1.7L just because of this one specific little feature I absolutely need... (it's a certain Stand by version...)
Back in the day, the 1.4L and 1.5L were the sweet spots for OC... all these newer versions are a total disaster because half the time the PC won't even boot once you start messing with the multiplier settings!!! If you've got decent memory, you can actually push it up to a 230 FSB, maybe even hit 242 which is my absolute ceiling! That's on the FRN2-RL... but obviously, you've gotta have an unlocked processor for that to work By the way, how on earth did you manage to crank that multiplier past 12.5x!? What kind of Barton are you running!?
Barton 2500+ from November 2003
It can actually go up to a 14 multiplier, but Windows just refuses to run if you go over 2.3ghz
So, I managed to get the multiplier up to 13. Once I hit 13.5, the whole thing just refuses to boot into Windows. Fingers crossed that when my new RAM finally shows up, I can push it way further to 11x200!
That sounds like a solid plan, right??
Oh, and I had one more quick question if anyone feels like helping me out.
I'm currently rocking a Soltek SL-75FRN2 / NV400-64 / NV400-L64 motherboard
running a BIOS REV D1.5L Phoenix
I noticed there's a newer BIOS version floating around online, but honestly, does it actually make sense to go through the hassle of flashing it? I'd hate to take the risk and end up bricking the damn thing.
Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a good program to overclock an ATI Radeon 9600pro??
So, I finally got it installed and honestly, it’s not half bad! My system is reporting speeds up to 3000. I've actually overclocked my Intel AMD Barton 2500 to hit 2200Ghz at 1.650 volts, and the temps are looking pretty sweet—when I'm just sitting there with the case closed, the CPU core stays between 39c and 42c, and even when I'm hammering it by decoding a movie with the CPU pegged at 100%, it only climbs to about 61c, nothing higher than that.
I'd say that's a solid result. I'm actually expecting a shipment of 2x512 DDR 400 Kingston memory to arrive later today, so we'll see how much of a difference that makes compared to this random no-name 2x 256 333 kit I'm running right now. Currently, the FSB is just sitting at 170.
Hey everyone, has anyone here actually spent some time messing around with the Glacialtech 2520 pro cooler?? I'm seriously wondering if it’s even worth a damn when it comes to keeping an Intel chip chilled out under pressure.
Raymond Rodriguez40 said:just look at the core temperature... that peak number... honestly, I think you're running a bit too hot... it’s probably just that your heatsink isn't seated perfectly or maybe the thermal paste isn't spreading quite right... if it's some cheap off-brand thing, I'd say just swap it out now because once those summer heatwaves hit, you'll be sweating bullets seeing temps hit 90!!
also... even though it's an Athlon 2500, it should run fine on stock settings, but you might get a little more out of it if you bump it up slightly... maybe try something like 1.675-1.7
The cooler is some random unbranded one—it's definitely not a Zalman or anything recognizable—but it does have a copper base and aluminum fins.
Anyway, I just ran some tests after spending about two hours absolutely tearing through Far Cry 😁 and the temp was sitting at 54C. I got pretty much the same result after playing Microsoft Flight Simulator, too. I actually tried bumping up the voltage a bit to see what would happen, but honestly, it didn't make any difference to the stability at all, and the only downside was that the temperature climbed a little higher, so I just dialed it back down to the default settings.
