That pile of sweets isn't nearly as massive as it looks in your head. Unless we're talking about those giant 12-ounce candy bars from Hershey's, but still... 😁
You're just stressing out over nothing. If glavaš can handle it while he's on his hunger strike, you can manage a little bit here and there too. And eventually, you'll figure out better ways to deal with your moods besides raiding the pantry...

Just pick up right where you left off three days ago and call it a win. That's it. 👍

🤣 This honestly needs to be the official motto for the ispovjedaonica 😁.

Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
So, I’ve noticed my cycle has been getting way shorter lately. It’s hitting me every 20 days now—counting from the first day to the next one... this has been going on for about 12 months.
Just sitting here waiting on my doctor's appointment results, wondering if anyone else has dealt with this or knows what might be up?
I’m 30, and honestly, nothing in my lifestyle has changed at all. 🤷
Period and Menstrual Cycle Talk in Women's Health ·
My cycle usually runs about 25 to 28 days, which means I end up dealing with my period twice in a single month sometimes 😁. It’s not exactly agonizing, but man, that first day just wipes me out... I'm basically a zombie
. The PMS is absolutely brutal though: sudden bouts of depression, being super irritable, crying over nothing, and in the worst cases, feeling suicidal thoughts... plus those intense food cravings, bloating, skin that feels way too sensitive to even a light touch, and sore breasts... Then, once the bleeding stops, there's this wave of euphoria and good moods 😁. I've noticed that when I actually stick to a workout routine and eat clean, the symptoms aren't nearly as bad

Progress or just spoiled kids? in Psychology ·
feralhound55 said:You’ve probably seen the headlines lately about parents complaining because their kids have to sit in classrooms hitting 90 degrees without any AC.

WTF???

I won't even get started on what it was like for me back in the early '90s—walking into crumbling schools with basically nothing. We all know how rough our school conditions used to be.

The real question is: Have we gone overboard with coddling kids? Do they have too much freedom and way too little responsibility? Or am I just starting to sound like my own parents with the whole "back in my day" routine?

More importantly, does this kind of "pampering" have anything to do with the rise in drug use, promiscuity, or even school shootings?

And why is there so little supervision these days? I’m not advocating for physical or psychological abuse, or locking kids in their rooms—I’m just wondering if, as a society, we haven't let things slide a bit too far.

So, you’ve officially become your parents. It happens to the best of us... we all end up complaining about how spoiled kids are today like we weren't the exact same way back then. 🙄😁
If you’re actually sane and level-headed, you'll set some real boundaries, and everything will turn out fine... I'm just sick of people blaming the schools, the Secretary of Education, society at large, TV, or even big banks for how kids turn out... at the end of the day, it's on the parents.
The sad truth is most people—including parents—are just idiots 🙂.
Honestly, the only real difference between parents now and parents back then is that nowadays there are more ways to fail and way more stuff to buy at Target.

Carol Parker said:I tried making nettle tea from scratch once... man, it was absolutely disgusting.
Uva tea is a total dream compared to that nettle stuff. And what about the stuff you grab at a drugstore? How's that taste?

I’ve kind of gotten used to it since I drink a ton of herbal teas, but even then, it’s nothing to write home about. It’s definitely better—and healthier—than those cheap tea bags, though. I usually toss in some mint or lavender to mask the flavor... or maybe just throw in a fruit tea bag if that's more your thing. Honestly, Whole Foods has some great blends now with ginger and aloe vera and stuff like that.
There are other teas for flushing out fluids too. I think dandelion works pretty well, but who knows...

Nancy Hernandez43 said:I just saw your photo! If I judge by how much you work out... I'm hoping I can be close to your shape in maybe 2 or 3 months😍

I really gotta put in the work now... later on, there's no way I'll have this much drive or motivation!
And you want me to have smaller breasts? Hmm.. idk why, they seem pretty proportional to my body.. but whatever!

Thanks for the support! I hit up some pharmacies (walked all over town between 2 and 4) and couldn't find any nettle capsules anywhere. They only had plain nettle. Ended up grabbing some Italian water-retention stuff instead, and now my mom thinks I'm poisoning myself and wants my blood... she's always like that. Can never see eye to eye with her. Heading toward Chicago soon, so hopefully the air will feel a bit lighter regarding what I actually want to do! kisses

What capsules, girl? Just grab some regular nettle tea, but not that cheap bagged crap—get the actual dried leaves at a health food store or a local pharmacy. It doesn't taste great, so I mix in a little other stuff and drink it unsweetened. Nettle helps flush out fluids and kicks the metabolism up a notch. Ever since I started drinking it and hitting the gym, those PMS bloating issues are totally gone.
And yeah, just like other herbal teas, you shouldn't drink it constantly; you need to take breaks. I hope this isn't against the rules and won't get 🙄

Carol Parker said:that’s why I didn't say anything back then... wasn't planning on posting any pics.
but maybe I will now... honestly, Dana Miller2, I totally pictured you as some skinny beanpole with nothing going on up top
but damn, you actually got curves.😁

And I'm not even skinny anymore😢.
Anyway, since I've been trying to shrink my chest, I really just want them small and perky... kind of like those silicone implants your friends have😁.
So I measured myself yesterday after a month of this, and yeah, I lost inches everywhere else, but the chest? Not budging. It's an impossible mission...😢

I honestly wonder how much of a thing that topic would even be, or if anyone would've actually bothered posting a photo if there wasn't a chat thread driving the hype 🙄
Quick question: anyone else dying in this heat? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Maria Barrett81 said:Can you somehow summarize that for me or just drop a link where I can download it?
Does that mean I’m just gonna be walking around my house or what? 😁

Yeah, it’s kind of stupid, honestly... you’re basically marching in place, doing those basic aerobic steps, but they throw in arm movements too, so it actually hits harder than just taking a brisk walk outside. Anyway, hit me up on PM for the rest...

The whole winter thing is really getting to me too. I don't mind the chill—you just power walk for ten minutes and you're toasted—but the early darkness is such a drag...
Lately though, I've been hitting the brisk walks. Honestly, if I'm not sweating, it feels like I'm barely doing anything at all.🤣

It's Leslie Sansone. Just grabbed it online. She’s kind of a bore, honestly, but sometimes I'll knock out her 4-mile express walk and it actually does the job.

Same here, water gets in... clearly me and quiettiger87 just have terrible swimming form 😳

Maria Barrett81 said:winter is gonna be my real struggle—so I’m planning to stick to my morning runs and afternoon HIIT sessions through the rest of August and hopefully September while it's still decent. once the freezing cold, rain, and snow hit... there's just no way I'm running. my tonsils act up too much, and honestly, the thought of heading out into a massive Midwestern blizzard or some heavy downpour isn't even happening... so I'll have to find an alternative once winter rolls in...
besides, I actually prefer summer over winter, so the heat doesn't really bother me...

You can just do aerobics in the winter or work out at home; I've got this killer walking DVD for indoor use. Power walking, different distances... it wears me out more than running does.

Elizabeth Baker38 said:That’s the exact thing that keeps me up at night too. Trying to go for a run in this summer heat when you can barely even catch your breath... man... it sucks. I’m taking a break right now, but once it finally cools down enough to actually breathe in the evenings, I'll be back out there. Anyone got any tips?

Just working out at home, cranked up the AC 🤷

You guys are always complaining about being overheated 😵
Honestly, the heat doesn't bother me one bit. I just sweat more, which makes me tell myself it’s actually melting away my cellulite... 😁

Nah, look, I don't really want to just sit here yapping about everyone else, so here’s a shot of me. It was taken with some crappy little webcam on my laptop, so the quality is pretty mid... I tried messing around with GIMP to fix it up, but since I'm nowhere near as good at it as someone using Photoshop, I ended up with this weird white crap around the edges when I tried to crop out my face and all the junk in the background.
Anyway, right now I'm basically in that phase where I'm desperately trying to lose the belly fat and the spare tire around my waist... plus those extra five pounds that serve as a constant reminder of my old binge-eating days.

I don't really have the answer to that, but you could always start by checking in with your General Practitioner... they can usually point you in the right direction if you need a referral.
A friend of mine actually went to this super expensive weight loss clinic once. Everyone was giving her crap about throwing money down the drain, but honestly? It worked for her. They put together a custom meal plan, but the real kicker was that it finally got her moving... and at the end of the day, that's the part that actually matters.

So, I hit up the screening of the movie character biopic about the Edo mother, and then caught Three Stories About Insomnia last night. That new Valla theater is killer—the arena setup is always such a vibe. Honestly, I just live for those cinemas where you can grab a drink, smoke, just veg out, watch the stars, and not have people breathing down your neck for once 😁.
Out of those three stories about insomnia, only one actually landed for me... the other two were just tedious and didn't make any sense.
The movie character biopic was pretty depressing, though not a total wash. For my taste, Matanić leaned way too hard into that Magnolia vibe; he basically lifted—okay, stole—that whole scene where the characters just freeze at the peak of their misery while some incredible Aimee Mann track plays in the background.
I don't know, I don't usually hold American films to super high standards, so if a director can actually keep me following the plot instead of me thinking: "God, this acting is trash," then it gets a passing grade from me.
The movie character biopic managed to pull that off.
