I honestly can't figure out why people think the ending was weird; if anything, it was fantastic. There’s always a chance the killer just dies like that, but since movies usually demand some big final showdown, this felt a bit more grounded in reality.

A few times? She's only in one scene. And don't you dare talk trash about her chest, or you'll face some nasty consequences...
If you're talking about him as a director, then he didn't actually direct From Dusk Till Dawn. Since you clearly haven't seen the movie, don't go talking trash about it.
I'm heading in to watch this in about half an hour. Honestly, I live for anything starring Russell Crowe—he’s easily the greatest actor on the planet (to quote RC: "I am the greatest actor in the world")... though this one is a bit of a period piece based on a novel, featuring plenty of massive naval guns. Plus, Russell is playing a guy who even plays the violin... hopefully, it actually holds up $9.75(with a rating of zero, given how much I despise those Broadway types... damn you Broadway!!! Not the actual Broadway, just those Broadway producers). What was I thinking? I really hope someone else can provide some actual substance regarding this movie once they've seen it, because I haven't yet.

😁
Thanks, where do I go to claim my prize? I'm hoping I won a pack of used tissues from my voters. 🙂
Though, I wouldn't say no to that Shogun Pro 17 knife set made by the last samurai Tom Cruise while he was busy trying to craft heels for those Ninja sandals to give him his true height.
Video store clerks are always the biggest buzzkills because they just hate everything, even though there’s a huge crowd of people who would actually want to rent stuff. My local clerk—well, she isn't even the owner—literally tells people looking to rent Solaris that it’s garbage and they shouldn't bother. Like, wtf? The movie is actually pretty solid, and just because she doesn't like it doesn't mean nobody else is allowed to watch it... plus, obviously, people return the movies... I honestly thought they were supposed to be responsible for recouping their investment, but since she doesn't own the place, she couldn't care less.
I watched Shiri on VHS, and the picture quality was actually totally fine It turns out tapes just hold up better. As for those movies that never show up despite being hyped by our local film magazines—that’s just ridiculous. I mean, they surely get some kind of inside scoop from the distributors... But let's be real, video rental shops only stock the guaranteed hits, like the best of Dolph Lundgren.
Melissa Moore32 said:Last time at MAMA, they were showing "Utena - Movie" with American subtitles. I missed it because I was at the game, and honestly, I'm pretty bummed about it. (Mostly because the game was total garbage 👎 )
But people say you have to watch Utena at least N times just to wrap your head around what's actually happening, so eto.
Now I'm just waiting for the DVD release.

I didn't make it because of the game either, but besides that, there aren't any subways running from my part of town at that hour, and my buddy's car is completely trashed. Will this even come out on DVD? I highly doubt it. In my area (meaning five different video rental stores in the greater Los Angeles area), they haven't even stocked Donnie Darko or Ken Park, let alone something this exotic. (Maybe Ringu or Shiri would have it)
Thanks, Melissa Moore32, for always providing such useful info... By the way, what actually went down at MAMA last time?
I checked out two different video rental shops, but they didn't have The Returner on DVD—just some blank stares from the clerks. I guess you can't expect Tarantino to be running every single shop these days, right?
The Returner is going to be awesome just because of that—especially since it’s an indie production, but if it ends up being high-budget, it’ll be even better. (I have heard that Cowboy Bebop - Movie isn't quite on the level of the series, but it's still leagues ahead of those Hollywood assembly lines churning out mindless junk) Knockaround Guys is overrated and yeah, it doesn't hold a candle to anything else, and I haven't gotten around to watching rat raca yet...
To be fair, Monica didn't betray anyone (truth was just too little), and it’s not like Keanu Reeves let us down either—he still hasn't quite figured out how to act.
rapidstag74, is that Mason Kapvel's avatar from Santa Barbara? In Chicago, they were supposed to show Kill Bill yesterday, and November 6th was also on the schedule, though I guess it'll probably be on the 20th instead...
Walking toward campus today, I passed one of those election posters stuck on a utility pole. It was this absolute fever dream of a caricature—honestly, if it wasn't so ridiculous, I wouldn't have even glanced at it, but 🙂 it’s pretty much a total mess. They had the candidate wearing these obnoxious, brightly colored sunglasses, and they'd even scrubbed out letters to change the slogan to "Make America Great Again." To top it off, there were references to Matrix Revolutions and Agent Smith scribbled all over it... I mean, the artistry isn't exactly high-end, but I swear, I actually 😂 😂 😂 ...
Zachary Reed3 says: By the way, I have a theory on where these machines get their power: our old eccentric genius, Tesla, might be pulling infinite energy straight from the ionosphere. Maybe that’s why the real world is constantly stuck under those heavy, dark clouds with lightning striking every few seconds.

So, we're just blaming Tesla for everything now? I mean, it seems pretty obvious they're just draining energy from people (have you seen those massive storage tanks scattered across the country? And humans are the ones burning up the sky.
