It is a film that is undeniably worth your time!
As for Leonardo DiCaprio, he has truly undergone a transformation; he has become more profound, more seasoned, and more mature. It seems to me that he grows more capable as an actor with every passing year—much like a fine vintage wine improves with age (😬 haha)—and that evolution is palpable in this performance.
I sincerely hope he takes home the Oscar for Best Actor; he has earned it through sheer merit. 😍

Personally, I think his performances in Gilbert Grape and Basketball Diary were the absolute peaks of his career.

Sure, he’s getting more mature and experienced, but we can't just overlook everything he did early on...
I’d even go as far as saying there was this general wave of dislike toward him right after Titanic...

But still, I have to tip my hat to him for everything he's accomplished so far...

A total masterpiece.

Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio were both incredible, though I think Leo stole the show—honestly, he should have taken home the Oscar for this one. Probably his best work yet, right up there with his performance in Basketball Journal.

Just a plain, boring little movie... no real plot, nothing special with the acting...

I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about with this movie.

The plot is way too simplistic, there's almost no real complexity... and even Robert De Niro's performance feels pretty middle-of-the-road. I mean, sure, you've got that one "Are you talkin' to me?" scene. If it wasn't for that single moment, I'm not even sure the film would be this iconic.

Top 250 on IMDB? No way...
