I picked up the R1 DVD the second it hit shelves. It’s such a sharp, intelligent piece of filmmaking... definitely a stellar directorial debut from Paxton...
Really solid movie. It captures that whole hooligan scene in England perfectly. The R2 DVD—not sure if we ever got a version here—is incredible. Those photos taken during the actual fights are especially fascinating... they look so raw and real...
A total legend... Caddyshack, Funny Farm (can't recall the actual title, but it was one of my first VHS tapes), and of course National Lampoon... definitely some of the best comedies from that era 😉

So, I caught the trailer for Surf Nazis must die. It’s basically some street gang fights where the main villains are this Nazi crew. Apparently, they wipe out every other gang in town, leaving only one person standing against them... some 60-year-old lady on a motorcycle. 🙂 What a Spectacle...
The Chosen One - stars Carmen Electra, honestly pretty terrible... Redneck Zombies - what can you even say about this one? Just extreme, over-the-top gore and some seriously questionable acting... The Toxic Avenger - all the Toxie movies basically have about 20 minutes of pure gold in them (fair warning: it’s hilarious if you’re hanging out with a group that appreciates this kind of garbage), but the rest is junk. There are plenty of wild subplots throughout the series, and even weirder characters... (hint: his blind girlfriend, who apparently spends her free time playing the accordion)😉 The Toxic Avenger Part II The Toxic Avenger III: The Last Temptation of Toxie Beware! Children at Play - haven't gotten around to this one yet, but it's sitting on my shelf at home. I'll get to it eventually...😉
The sequels the Wayans brothers put out were decent enough, but I didn't even bother sitting down for the one with Leslie Nielsen. I'm hoping—though I probably shouldn't hold my breath—that the fourth one might actually circle back to that older style of humor...
How did I miss this thread? I'm moving my comment over from that other "fake" one:
So, I caught it in the theater yesterday. Honestly, I was expecting a lot more, but overall... just disappointed. It felt way too mainstream for my taste. Even though they tried to maintain that heavy, unsettling atmosphere from the last two films, it just didn't land for me...
I finally sat down and watched parts one and two, and honestly, they're pretty great. 🙂 I guess thinking law is perspective applies here when you’re judging whether a flick is actually worth your time. They aren't exactly cinematic masterpieces—most of the mainstream crowd would probably hate them—but for those of us who live and breathe horror (for better or worse), they're a blast. You have to love the low-budget effects, the acting, the plot, and the soundtrack all clashing together just right to make it an entertaining ride... 😉
If you ask me, he’d be a terrible choice. 007 needs to be this quintessential British guy with absolutely flawless diction. To my eyes, Clooney has a look that feels a bit too... well, let's just say not quite from around here. Plus, there's that slight accent he carries, which might end up looking pretty ridiculous on a face meant for someone like James Bond...
The first installment was actually a pretty refreshing piece of filmmaking. Solid concept, too. But somewhere around the hour and ten-minute mark, I felt my interest starting to flag... mostly because that sense of incompleteness I mentioned earlier started to weigh on the whole (perfectly good) idea...
As for the sequel? Well, most follow-ups to hits like this tend to fall flat, but out of respect for the original, I'll definitely be checking it out.

It’s a scary movie, sure, but in all the wrong ways. I happened to have this incredibly low-quality DVD of it once, and honestly... watching it was pure torture.😉
This movie is absolute gold—pure entertainment. Before heading into the theater, I was scrolling through some threads on Phantasmagoria and saw people joking about how much fun the production was. I didn't bother checking the box office numbers, but honestly, a sequel is definitely coming our way 😎
