I don't drink much—just one or two cups a day—but I've noticed that I feel like I "have" to have them, which suggests I'm already hooked. Beyond the obvious dependency, I’m not entirely sure what other side effects coffee leaves behind. It would be helpful if someone could weigh in on the long-term implications... I'm already a smoker, so I might as well address this if it's going to be bad for my health in the long run.
Location: Washington, D.C. Method: Using a Brita filter Why it beats tap water: Because tap water tastes pretty bland, whereas the Brita actually delivers the quality you expect.

Does that actually carry some deeper weight regarding how the rest of the movie unfolds? Or was it just tossed in there for no particular reason?
It serves to establish their fundamental nature; they might be immortal, but they're also incredibly corrupt.
I’ve never actually read any comics, but I found the movie quite compelling. Sure, the plot gets a bit muddled at times, but the moment those floating pyramids appear hovering over cities that look straight out of Blade Runner, my imagination just takes flight, allowing me to fill in the narrative gaps myself. 😁 To truly appreciate this film, you have to let your imagination run wild; I suspect it will mostly appeal to those who prioritize visual storytelling. That said, it stands out as one of the most original pieces I’ve seen lately.
Visually, it’s incredibly imaginative, though I have to admit the CGI characters don't feel nearly as convincing as live actors—with the exception of the gods, who were actually rendered brilliantly. The dynamic between Horus and Nikopol felt genuinely unique to me, offering a great dose of unexpected humor... And, as previously mentioned... the lead actress is 😍
Look, I just dropped a massive chunk of change on Metallica tickets😁 so my budget is pretty much shot right now... But getting back to the point, you guys are all insisting that a solid cooler is the most critical factor for a stable overclock? And that mine isn't exactly cutting it?
If that's the case, once I've got some breathing room in my bank account, I'll reach out to see if you're still looking to offload it.😉
William Kim13 said:For such a negligible difference? Absolutely not. But why stop there? You really ought to push it up to 2300MHz, or what would be roughly a 3400+ PR rating.
My AMD Athlon 2500 (1826) runs at 3200 (2200) without me even touching the voltage, and it stays perfectly stable. If I crank it up to 3400 (2300), I bump the voltage to Max—around 1.85, if my memory serves me right—and it still holds steady. That’s the beauty of an AMD Athlon; you have to push it hard, otherwise, it just gets offended.😁
I am running an AMD Athlon 2500+ myself and I'm looking to overclock because, while playing Riddick, I finally realized I could use some more raw horsepower🙂. My only concern is the temperature; I've been putting it to work encoding MP3s lately, and with the case closed, it climbs to about 65 degrees Max (it's been running like this for a year without any issues, just without the overclock). I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212; it looks like aluminum since it's gray, and while it's physically quite large, it's only spinning at 2600 rpm. Do you think I can hit 2.2 GHz with this same cooler? If CMOS dissipation—and presumably temperature, since I've forgotten the formulas😁—scales linearly with frequency, then at 2.2 GHz, I'd be looking at a scorching 79 degrees! Maybe it hits 70 or so if I leave the case open. Do I need to invest in a better cooler to reliably hit 2.2 GHz? What are you guys seeing on your end?
Oh, by the way, the motherboard is an ASUS Motherboard.
Honestly, I went into this expecting a complete disaster based on all the backlash online, but it wasn't actually that bad. It was definitely too lighthearted given the subject matter—the romance took center stage instead of the actual war—and the final hour felt like it was tacked on just so the Americans could finally get their payback. They portrayed the leads more like action movie tropes than actual pilots, but look, if you don't go into this expecting some heavy-hitting, serious anti-war epic and instead view it as just an action flick with plenty of explosions, it’s perfectly fine watching material.
Personally, I found it a bit off that the Predator teamed up with the woman so immediately. Back when he was part of the unit with Arnold, he felt genuinely pathetic and malicious; after Arnold demonstrated such superior hunting skills against him, the creature decided to just blow the whole thing up with a nuke (HAHAHA... BOOM). I actually loved that—it gave him this dark, gritty edge. It reminds me of how a character once perfectly put it in an AvP game: "They are sadistic... like children with insects." I truly got the sense that they don't just hunt humans, but that they are inherently malevolent. While it worked out well enough that they took down the Queen together, in my opinion, their motivation for cooperating should have been purely survivalist—realizing they stood zero chance alone. And then, perhaps, the Predator could have simply spared her. Maybe even left a little souvenir for Danny Glover since he was such a legend 😁 though I certainly wouldn't want them to suddenly turn into some kind of honorable "good guys" now...
I’ve watched it too, and I have to say, it turned out better than I anticipated.
HERE BE SPOILERZ
First off, the production design is quite well done; the temple isn't nearly as lackluster a setting as I initially feared. It actually bears a striking resemblance to the Alien temples seen in the AvP video game 🙂. Furthermore, the space-based special effects—like the shoulder cannons glowing red-hot during fire and the Predator's cloak—felt visceral and grounded, which stands in stark contrast to Riddick, where the heavy reliance on CGI makes everything feel artificial. The practical effects are plentiful and excellent, and the Queen is just as convincing as she was in Aliens. That one Alien with the mesh-pattern scars on its head was particularly impressive; I was pleasantly surprised to see it take down two Predators! Also, the defensive acid spray from the wounded tail was a great touch 😁 . The only thing that felt a bit nonsensical to me was how the acid could melt through a Predator's armor and wrist blades, yet the spear remained intact when the woman used it to kill the Alien (and honestly, wouldn't she have been drenched in acid if he's bleeding right above her?). But fine, whatever. Perhaps Predators simply possess varying grades of steel. Though, judging by the scene, she certainly had a mess on her legs 😁 . The concept of the cannons inside the pyramid was interesting—it implies the Predators have to fight their way to them first to gain an advantage against the Aliens. There are a few plot holes, though. For instance, why didn't the Predator kill Weyland immediately? My theory is that he saw the man was sick and bleeding internally, making him an unworthy sacrifice. Or perhaps not? And why would the Predator let the woman walk away carrying the Alien's head and tail like trophies? I was also pleasantly surprised by the brief appearance of the small Predalien at the end. I assumed the writers had trimmed the film too much and forgotten the moment a facehugger ambushed the lead Predator from behind while his mask was off. Heh. Looking ahead to the AvP 2 film, those Predators are going to have a serious problem on their hands once they realize just how massive that creature gets when it matures. It’s likely three times stronger than a standard Alien, meaning hand-to-hand combat won't be an equal fight anymore 😁 . The only absolute cliché was when those two characters mutually declared they both had children. Good grief, people—you NEVER do that in war movies or monster horrors! By making those statements, they essentially signed their own death warrants. They basically bought themselves a massive farm 😬 . All in all, it's a solid film. It doesn't reach the heights of Aliens or Predator, but it's decent enough, and a sequel would be a cool move. We'll just have to see if it stands the test of time and repeated viewings.
I had a feeling even before this that my part might have been inspired by those events.
Anyway, the narrative in Stone by Stone really stuck with me... I didn't look up the lyrics online, but from what I gathered, it’s about a guy singing about building a little house for a woman, stone by stone, except this house won't have any doors or windows, and it'll be quite dark inside... plus there's a garden out front, and no one will hear her scream as he completely walls her into it.😁
I've got my hands on it too. I’ve spun it twice so far, and honestly, "Moscow" and "Dalai Lama" are standing out as the highlights for me, though I’m hoping the rest of the tracks grow on me as I keep listening. To be fair, nothing quite touches their *Mutter* album for me; that one is just flawless from start to finish. I still love the music video for "Mein Teil," especially seeing how Lindemann flashes that crooked grin at you 😬—plus, the lyrics are absolutely insane...
"Du bist was du isst und Ihr wisst was es ist...
Es ist mein Teil!!!🙂 🙂 😁
Their songwriting tends to lean into the morbid, but even then, there's an underlying sense of irony that keeps it from feeling heavy-handed. They've even mentioned before that they don't take themselves all that seriously.

The movie is fine. If you have an appetite for swords and blood I, then it’s great; if you don't, then shut up and go watch some sanitized, PG-rated drama instead...
LONG live Swords and blood every respect master 🙂
I caught this in theaters and thought the film was perfectly decent. My only gripe was that I expected them to be battling non-human enemies, which would have been killer. I suppose that's just how it goes since McTiernan directed it (Predator? 🙂)
dustyharbor7 said:I honestly doubt you can speed up the healing process, but here I am—I messed up my ankle last weekend, and thankfully nothing is broken. It was pretty swollen for the first few days, and to be honest, it’s still a bit puffy, though at least I can walk without limping now. I just have to avoid any sudden twisting motions because the pain comes back immediately.
Are there any specific exercises, creams, compresses, or other therapies that could help this clear up faster?
Thanks!
Hmm, last year at a Metallica concert, I stepped awkwardly on some kind of ledge and ended up with symptoms almost identical to yours. I didn't bother with anything fancy other than wrapping it in one of those stretchy compression bandages, and within a week, I was fine. For me, that wrap is the universal fix whenever I manage to wreck a joint; it consistently does the trick. 🙂

As for my selection... I suppose I have quite a wait ahead of me before I get what I want. 😁
P.S. If The Chronicles of Riddick actually pulls through, I've heard rumors it might just turn into a full trilogy... 👍
I’m not entirely sure, but ever since I saw Pitt in Snatch, he’s been a total icon in my eyes... and I honestly think he’d make an incredible Achilles 🙂
Well, I’m planning on catching Lily 4-ever soon enough... from what I gather, it follows a young woman from Russia who dreams of a better life in the West, only to be lured by empty promises into moving to Sweden, where she finds herself trapped in a cycle of prostitution with no way out. I’ve heard it offers a brutally realistic portrayal of the harsh reality that thousands of women from Eastern Europe face every single day. People say the film is devastatingly sad and cruel, but if it actually captures the truth of the situation, then I believe it's a must-watch.
Hellblazer said:So, can you actually clarify what you meant regarding that original ending for Army of Darkness?👍
Hmm, I recall one version where at the very end (spoiler 🙂) Ash Williams ends up back at the shopping mall, takes out a few monsters, grabs his gear, and delivers that "Hail to the king, baby!" line. Then, I distinctly remember seeing another cut where he accidentally lands far in the future and just screams "Oh nooo!" or something to that effect... Now, which of those two is considered the official ending? Personally, I dig both; one is just pure style, while the other leaves the door wide open for a sequel... maybe something like 😁Evil Dead: Ash vs the RoboZombies😁
The sequel is easily the superior one. It stands out as one of the most unhinged movies ever made. As for the first installment, you can't forget that insane scene where the tree attacks the woman. 😁
