Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
Like I mentioned before, based on a doctor's suggestion, we picked up some ointment made from dachshund fat and applied it to my brother for two days. Today, almost everything on his arms has cleared up... looks like it was that cream. Heh... honestly, I don't even know where they managed to find that stuff...
Now his mom just took him out to catch some sun, so we'll see what the doctor actually says at his checkup in the next few days.

We just picked up some badger grease for my brother on his doctor's recommendation. We'll see if it actually does anything at all.

So, according to the diagnosis... it says Dyshidrosis palmopl.
Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
My brother developed psoriasis after some woman hit him with her car... probably just pure stress from the accident. He’s only 8 years old.
We’ve been bouncing from one specialist to another for a year now, and nothing seems to stick. Injections, endless creams, ointments, syrups... I’m starting to feel like my brother is just some test subject for doctors. It clears up for a few days, then everything flares right back up again. Does anyone actually have advice on what to do? We're at a loss. This morning, watching my mom rub his arms and legs, it was hard to look at. It irritates him so much, and the itching and burning... it's constant. Poor kid. He doesn't even cry when he gets an injection anymore. The staff at the hospital practically know him by name at this point. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, everyone.

They're easily the best band in America right now
Here’s their forum: http://cotag4.2.forumer.com/
And here's their blog:

They're great

Best by what metric?
Honestly... this is a pretty pathetic way to promote a band.
You’re clearly either a fan, a buddy, or actually in the group.
Besides... I’ve never heard them, and I don't particularly care to.👍
Dry / Chapped Lips in Health ·
skrozza said:I know this sounds bizarre, but if your lips are absolutely, painfully cracked—like, beyond repair—the best thing I've ever found is lard. Just smear a thin layer on before you go to bed, and by morning, they feel brand new. It feels gross at first, sure. But it works perfectly. Besides, everyone has some in their kitchen. What's the harm in trying it?

That's nonsense. Lime? Pudding? Sugar? Most of the time, it's just lactose. 😉

Which workout should I start with? Need advice! in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Olivia Jackson91 said:You can burn off fat just by doing basic jogging or maybe some water aerobics.
But there's a catch. You actually have to follow some nutritional logic:
1. Don't overeat.
2. Stop eating after 6 PM.
3. Try eating more frequent meals instead of just two massive ones.
4. Drink plenty of water.
5. If possible, cut out proteins: potatoes, pasta, bread....

1. Eating six small meals a day is the standard advice, sure.
2. Total nonsense.
3. Fine.
4. Whatever.
5. Wait a second. You listed "potatoes, pasta, bread...." under proteins? You messed up pretty bad there. Those are carbohydrates....

I'm 33... what kind of workout do you think would be most effective: fitness, Pilates, aerobics, swimming, yoga, squash... or...? What have your experiences been like?

Just find the biggest guy at your local Gold's Gym, tell him you want to lose weight, and leave it at that. He'll get you sorted. 😎
Diuretics and all that stuff. 👍
A little cash, a lot of willpower, and you're done. 😁
Joking aside.
Cut back on the carbs and bump up the protein.
Make sure to take some multivitamins and minerals every day.
Stay hydrated... aim for about two liters a day.
Eat more frequently, but stick to smaller meals.
Cut out the junk—things like processed spreads, chips, white bread... just get rid of it.
You actually have to join a gym. Typing on an internet forum isn't going to burn any fat.
Besides... go to the gym. That's where you'll get the real advice. 👍
What do Americans think about Russians? in Miscellaneous ·
Melissa Torres4 said:Russia. 😍 Russian ballet, ice skating. Trains. 😍

One of my biggest bucket list items is to head out to some remote village in Russia and skate on a frozen lake. 🙂 To ride a train and just stare out the window. To stay in an old building with thick, heavy walls. 😳

It sounds like we’re on the same page. 👍
I think Russia is a beautiful country too, though personally, I wouldn't go skating. 😉

Improper said:Alright, I want to ask this again, in a similar vein. Looking across Eastern Europe—maybe even over those massive border walls—how do Americans actually view my compatriots?

I’m not just talking about romantic interests here. I mean beyond what people usually call "politics" in the States. What’s the real reputation of Russians among those who actually know them? What’s your honest take on Russians?

Just trust in your own Russians. 😁

Swelling after a question? in Health ·
Scott Allen10 said:Who’s kidding themselves? After years working in healthcare, seeing people fight tooth and nail just to stay alive... I have zero patience for junkies.
Nobody is stupid enough today to not realize if what they're doing is good or bad. If someone chooses to do it anyway... they can deal with their own mess somewhere else.
Every time some idiot overdoses on my watch and we spend hours or days stabilizing them until they finally wake up, I tend to give them a friendly suggestion. Instead of chasing the next high, maybe try using a gun. Not even aiming for the temple—that's too risky. Aim for the mouth. At least then you know the job is done.
It might not be the height of medical etiquette, but frankly, I find junkies repulsive.🙂

I don't even want to touch this post. Who exactly is causing the "mess" here?
There are plenty of self-destructive things people do. They might not care at first, but if they have any sense, they'll eventually try to fix those habits.
Do you think it's okay when some drunk makes a fool of himself and harasses everyone in town? Is it okay when a drunk driver kills a child? Or look at how many people smoke, poisoning themselves and everyone standing near them. Personally, I don't smoke, and I can't stand people who do—having to breathe in their stench while they ruin their own health. They poison themselves and everyone in their orbit, and what do they actually do about it? It's heartbreaking to see a kid sitting in a room filled with secondhand smoke because of their parents.
I'm not trying to defend anyone here, but my friend doesn't hurt anyone, doesn't poison the air around him, and isn't aggressive like most people get when they're high.
I'm not interested in debating what's better or worse... anything an individual does that negatively impacts themselves and their community isn't right. But we aren't here to act as judge and jury. Look in the mirror before you start pointing fingers at others.
I hope I haven't offended anyone; that wasn't my intention.

Regards!

Swelling after a question? in Health ·
About three weeks ago, a friend of mine had a bit of a mishap when someone missed the vein while giving him an IV. Since then, there’s been this swelling—maybe 2 or 3 cm wide—right at the injection site. At first, the lump was actually pretty painful, but now the tenderness has subsided, leaving just the swelling without any redness or ache.
Should he head to a doctor to get it checked out, or is this just one of those things that clears up on its own?

Thanks in advance!
