I’m on board with that—if they aren't going to step up and actually engage, we’re definitely going to need some fresh faces in the moderator seats. What I was thinking in the meantime, just as a way to help maintain some basic hygiene around this sub, is
I assume that’s how it’ll play out, provided the moderators actually get on the same page about it. Plus, having some actual constructive feedback from the community would go a long way, so feel free to drop your suggestions right here. The whole "supportive" nonsense and all those mindless awww comments for every little thing certainly isn't going to fly here; this is serious business for the people who actually need the information. When we're deep in a discussion about something like breastfeeding, I highly doubt anyone gives a damn about what some mom just bought or what the weather is like in her neck of the woods.
You can't exactly moderate a thread once it has spiraled completely out of control and gone straight to hell The only real solution at that point is to just cut your losses, start a fresh thread, and try to moderate it properly from the jump Of course, that obviously requires everyone to actually show some self-discipline and help out where they can
I honestly wouldn't be surprised, seeing as I used to spend plenty of my own time writing and debating on those old PDF forums myself. And frankly, that’s exactly what the moderators are doing right now—they're just clearing out the trash to make room for actual, coherent discussion and meaningful dialogue. For anyone actually trying to find something useful, it's vital that they can locate information presented in a readable format without having to fight their way through endless pages of spam, off-topic nonsense, or someone's private chat logs.
just imagine a mom trying to handle three kids at once!! or, does anyone else feel like moms deal with some weirdly specific anxiety regarding their kids' hair color or if they're thinning out too much? come on people, let's dial back the melodrama and bring this down to a reasonable level this constant chatting and "vibing" really isn't what this forum is built for
The subforum finally got a much-needed cleaning out of all the trash Honestly, it’s kind of hilarious that some of you don't realize the moderators are actually doing you a massive favor here, both for current users and for anyone else who's going to show up later looking for actual answers It isn't just about how much people are typing on a thread; what really matters is the quality of what's being said, because we simply can't have the entire board cluttered with endless threads where every tiny little detail turns into its own massive mess of "ahhhhh" and "ohhhhh" posts If we can just maintain a bit of order, things like our Red Bull intake and pregnancy info will be way more useful and informative for everyone involved
I ended up deleting something by mistake, so if you could just shoot me that link, I'd appreciate it; I can't exactly sit here and moderate the entire PDF myself, but once I have it, I'll get this sorted out for you.
The topic threads are just going to keep shrinking until there's nothing left I mean, let's be real, not every single burp needs to be documented as vital intel on this forum
I'm closing this thread because you just dropped a single link and asked why the site isn't working, which doesn't exactly make for a conversation The second one is staying open for now, so we'll just have to see how things play out and where the discussion goes from here To be honest, the way you started this topic was pretty poorly handled, and frankly, it's not even clear what you're actually trying to get us to talk about
It’s all up to you, really, and like I said before, I’m going to hand this over to my colleague, just so there isn't any perception that I personally have a grudge against you or that I'm being anything less than completely objective here.
Tyler Grant76, do us a favor and actually lay out exactly what you mean here, because I'm just going to sit back and stay out of it, though I'll let someone like mellowraven22 take a look at what we're actually talking about.
Timothy Robinson2, look, I’m telling you, either start reporting the posts that actually cross the line, or just take your little toys and go play somewhere else entirely if the moderators decide to sit on their hands and do nothing, then we can settle this ourselves right here
Without any actual context, those statements don't really amount to much, do they? You're more than welcome to report any of them to the moderator of whichever subforum you happen to be hanging out in.
I honestly couldn't tell you what the actual logic is behind whether someone chooses to sport an avatar or just leaves it blank, though I highly doubt that making sure banned users have profile pictures is exactly at the top of anyone's priority list here.
Nathan Morris said:Look, I wasn't trying to start some heavy debate here, I just meant things like, do you guys remember Satish Nambiar? 😲
give me some reasoning, please the whole vibe of a thread depends entirely on you, and since you're clearly capable of just starting a brand new one if you aren't happy with this one, well, go ahead and do it.
Razor, welcome to the community; I’m genuinely hoping you find your groove here and manage to settle in nicely. If you ever find yourself scratching your head over how things work around here, just head over to the help section—it's packed with answers to most of the usual questions, and since you're already up to speed on the rules, you should be all set... As for all the "why is this happening" or "why is that the case" nonsense, honestly, none of that really matters to you as a member, unless you want it to, I suppose. It really boils down to one simple thing: whether you decide to stick around here or keep wandering until you stumble upon a place that actually feels like it deserves someone like you, whatever comes first.
