I mean, you can twist just about anything to fit under the umbrella of "personal opinion" if you try hard enough enough.
Does that mean we don't actually need moderators? Is that the logic here?
And if you're such a huge believer in democracy, why are you venting on a message board instead of heading down to Washington D.C. to protest outside the Capitol or the White House? Go talk to the government directly, don't bring it here.

The chat is generally a bit more laid-back here
which basically means if you're going to get slapped with a warning, the insults have to actually sound somewhat biting
it’s just that a moderator can't really wrap their head around the fact that some people get a free pass because they're well-liked by certain members—people who could say the exact same thing and get flagged instantly—not to mention all those silent types who just sit there and read everything without ever saying a word

restlesstiger102, look, you're not wrong about that, really, because just because you might have some friendly little side chats or a decent rapport with people on this forum privately doesn't change the fundamental reality that a moderator is going to judge the situation based strictly on what's actually been typed out and how a completely neutral third party would interpret the text itself.
