Hey everyone, I could really use some advice. I've been feeling pretty down lately, and honestly, it shows—I've picked up some extra fat around my sides and right on my John Doe. I'm hoping you guys can give me some tips on how to burn this off and maybe build up some core strength? To be fair, I gained about 10 or 15 pounds because of that long, brutal winter—I was basically stuck inside all day just eating out of boredom, so it’s not exactly a shock that I put on some weight... Thanks in advance for any help! (I'll be quoting your suggestions in a separate thread for photo feedback)
If you aren't in any particular rush, why not just list the price right there in the description? $333 Maybe try dropping the price by $33 every week or so. Though, honestly—I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get even a handful of bucks for it, considering how old it is.
So, is data access for the OS and various programs basically the same deal as it was with the SAT III? Do you happen to have a test or maybe a link I could check out just to be sure..
Benjamin King2, man, I need your help one more time 😁 I didn't want to start a whole new thread if I didn't have to 🙂
So, since I'm running an SSD on an ASRock H55M motherboard that only has a SATA II interface, is there actually a noticeable difference in data access speeds between a SATA II and a SATA III controller? I've been reading some stuff on other forums—which honestly has me a bit worried, hence why I'm back here—claiming that you'll only see a difference in a synthetic benchmark, like using a program like Samsung SSD, but actual data access remains basically the same regardless of whether it's a SATA II or SATA III controller. Do you think there's any truth to that? And if not, would it be worth grabbing a SATA III adapter to plug into the board to squeeze out more speed? It feels a little silly having an SSD that isn't hitting its intended speeds. I don't really have the budget right now to swap out my entire motherboard just for SATA III support, so an adapter seems cheaper, but I wanted to get your take first. Have you ever tested an SSD on a SATA II board versus a SATA III one? Is the access speed truly the same, or is there a real-world difference? Thanks in advance! SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD, Motherboard: ASRock H55M motherboard
This is about as basic as it gets. Since you mentioned a budget of up to $100, maybe we can find something that works if we look around a bit? If not, then check this one out:
It’s got an HDMI port too, so you can just plug it straight into your TV with a cable. It'll handle those old flash games you find online without breaking a sweat.
Edit: If you're more of an Intel fan, this option has basically the same specs as the Nvidia build.
If you're asking specifically about gaming, I’d definitely stick with a desktop—you just can't get that kind of performance out of a laptop. Plus, with a PC, you always have the freedom to swap out your graphics card, upgrade to a beefier power supply, or add more RAM. Even with a laptop, you might be able to bump up the memory, but it's nothing compared to what you can do with a full tower.
It honestly drives me crazy—I’ll spend time putting together a post, maybe around 10 to 15 sentences, and just when I finally hit "post reply," some random error pops up. It's enough to make anyone lose their cool 😬
I'm using Google Chrome myself. I haven't really had any issues with it before—until now, anyway. For the last couple of days, this forum has been acting incredibly glitchy.

What do you mean by a "more modern" version? Which one are you actually using?
