Lawsuit against the forum in Law ·
Nathan Bailey65 said:Good evening to everyone hanging out in this section of the forum.

I’ve got a question, and I’m mostly looking for an answer from Boeing.

I can't quite wrap my head around whether commemorating a certain anniversary—like the one mentioned above—counts as promoting fascism or Nazism. If you're just citing verified historical documents that were signed on specific dates, is that actually illegal? I'm honestly not even sure if any official agreement was actually signed before April 10th.

I'll take this one.

Nothing was signed on April 10th; that was just when the proclamation was issued (Agnew read it over the airwaves at the Chicago station), and the actual signing didn't happen until the 16th.

And if you happen to run into anyone from the Communist Party USA, they were busy signing all sorts of things out in the middle of nowhere while setting up their Military Committee.

Have some shame; you don't even know what you're protesting.😎
Unless there’s a specific arrangement in place, medical waste of organic origin typically ends up in a standard biohazard bin. Of course, if you donate those materials to a university, a research society, or an institute, you might actually be able to request a proper burial for them.

It gets even weirder when you consider amputated parts that have been treated with radioactive substances; those end up classified as radioactive waste and get tossed into containers sitting right over at Rutgers—unless, of course, someone decides to secretly dump them somewhere else entirely (though I’m mostly just speculating on that part)
Piracy?! in Software ·
Isn't it glaringly obvious how much they overcharge for their own work? I mean, if you pick up a movie at a standard retail price today $9.75, but then walk into one of those specialty boutiques and find the exact same thing sitting there for 200-$100 bucks, you have to wonder... what kind of twisted logic are they using to set these prices?

Any product that’s marked up this aggressively is just begging for piracy and theft; it isn't just about software, either—you see the exact same pattern playing out in high fashion, the car industry, real estate... it's everywhere.

When a price actually makes sense, very few people are going to gamble on stealing it and risking everything from malware and viruses to getting caught by the cops or just looking like an idiot.
Stye near my eye in Health ·
There’s definitely a wider variety of creams hitting the shelves at places like CVS or Walgreens these days, but honestly, if you’re looking at those "5-day recovery" versus "7-day recovery" options, it feels a bit futile if you aren't even planning on wearing makeup. If you aren't trying to mask it up, what's really the point? I’d love to hear if anyone has actually found a real solution for this.

My little guy plays hockey, and he's currently sporting a pretty distinct mark right across his cheek; it seems like he ends up with these bruises on visible parts of his body about twice a year, though he always seems to get them on his legs too. 😢

The whole thing with the ice works, sure, but you have to react immediately to see any difference—and even then, while the bruise might be smaller, it's still going to show up somehow.

...

I think you’re blowing this way out of proportion. Look, Matthew is a sweet kid, really, but he just hasn't stepped up yet; he’s too modest, hasn't made a big splash, and let’s face it—younger voters don't exactly reward that kind of subtlety. I actually tried to walk you through the numbers to show how his approval rating for the Big Brother lead jumped by 2% during that two-hour window, but you’re busy looking at other political polls—you know, those Sunday afternoon ones around 2:00 PM when all the party loyalists are busy voting, which adds another 2,000 or 3,000 votes if you bother to do the math. And as for those advocates cherry-picking moments to suit their own agendas? That’s just how the world works; every political party in every country does it, especially those climbing the ladder from the bottom. Any decent situation can be spun through a Delphic lens—or a horoscope, if you prefer to be cynical.

Personally, I find it pretty refreshing that this guy from a small town in the Midwest, someone who isn't even politically active, has managed to climb this high; it seems people still have a soft spot for a regular, salt-of-the-earth American.🙂
Did you lose your mind too? People who actually have jobs aren't the ones voting on their phones—it’s the kids. And honestly, it makes perfect sense that they’d do exactly what they’re told not to do. Whether it’s listening to TBF or voting for something their old man would absolutely hate, does it even matter?
The real question is whether B3 is actually coming back or if the whole show has just run its course. If the vote shifted by only two percent during the live finale while the show was basically being broadcast from some dive bar, that implies fewer than a thousand people actually cast a vote on that final night. So, we have to ask ourselves: is that kind of turnout even worth it for a major network? You're over here trying to draw parallels to how society functions, but really... 🤣
Vote for the Forum MVP... in Close to Politics ·
So, what are we even supposed to do now—who's left to vote for if the IL guys have pulled their names from the ballot?
It’s going to be a complete circus, honestly, just like those old Bloomberg elections.
Guitar talk in Music ·
It looks like I’ve found a group here with some actual expertise.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid music notation software?

Also, where can I track down some simple songs for beginners—specifically things designed for learning via sheet music?

And when does the curriculum typically introduce chords?

I’m really just playing the role of the financier here; my junior is currently in guitar lessons, and they're moving into strictly reading notation during this second year. I’m not worried about it, of course—he’s young, and having a strong foundation in theory won't hurt him one bit—but I’d love to hear some thoughts or commentary from those of you who know the ropes.
Would you kill a Cow? in Health ·
Picture this: a deserted island, one Cow weighing in at about 1,300 pounds, one guy around 175 pounds, a knife, and a rock. For $250, I’ll sit back and watch how he handles it.😁

I'll take $500 if I don't have to play hero and step in to save him.😁
How about $750 if I get to watch the Cow actually take him down?😁
But if you want me to film the whole thing for the footage? Now we're talking $1,200.
Preterm labor due to fetal malformation in Health ·
They just can't deliver a baby that size safely, so they opt for an induced labor instead. It’s a way to try and ensure there's some sign of life at the moment of delivery; otherwise, they'd be looking at a D&C. Of course, that doesn't guarantee the baby makes it through, and honestly, it's a terrifying gamble because the mother could just as easily lose her life in the process.😢

I’m just sitting here thinking about those old-school dive bars 😂 , I wonder if we’ve actually crossed paths before, you grain enthusiast 🤣Hector's, Roosevelt's, with that massive billboard right on the fence.

(Am I even allowed to say that? 🙂 )

Well, I suppose you can say whatever you feel like, though honestly, I haven't been back there in two years and all these new street names are giving me a real headache. Ever since '96, everything seems to be officially registered in St. Louis now, which feels just a bit silly when you realize you don't even recognize half the places anymore.

I was standing right at the intersection of Hectovitch and Roosevelt's, looking at some advertisement on a low wall.

And this small town in rural America—is it located near Zenith?

Keith James812 said:Alright, let’s just move past all that for a second... I was actually grabbing coffee with Johnson yesterday, 😍

Anyway, I’ll be coming down to visit next weekend, so you won't have to drink your coffee "all by yourself."😁
Back when we were discussing the idea of a gay directory, you expressed some pretty serious concerns about how people on such a list might be treated—did those fears actually end up coming true?

casualnomad42 said:Honestly, nimblewalker58, you’re lucky enough that it wasn't your own psychiatrist dealing with this, because those labels regarding "the women jumping in here" certainly don't apply to everyone... 😉
(And hey, now I'm officially out of favor too—just sitting here waiting for my disciplinary hearing to wrap up) 😁
But check out this little bit of "logic" I put together:

👋

My mistake, really; I reacted to the tone of the conversation rather than the actual statement itself. It always strikes me as odd how people with advanced degrees can be so incredibly comfortable with public insults.

Emergency: My friend is pregnant in Health ·
My scores were pretty much all low, except for being moderate on the narcissism scale—not like they’re actually going to make a buck off me or anything 😢
I mean, I’ve already seen myself in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"😁

The link isn't working for you.

I formed my opinion based on several different posts, but honestly, doesn't it seem a bit unprofessional to be handing out diagnoses over the internet?

And look, wouldn't you probably want to consult your own colleagues first if I were the one actually building your house?😕

I'm heading out; this level of conversation just isn't for me.👋

You’re missing that whole social and empathetic component, and look, I’m not questioning anyone's technical expertise here, but it would honestly break my heart if I found out you all were actually like this.

nimbleskipper13 said:Look, tukan, respect isn't just handed out; you have to earn it through how you carry yourself, and frankly, based on your recent little performance, you haven't exactly earned it yet. 😈

And don't bother trying to throw insults my way because they aren't hitting the mark at all—it’s never really about the content of the argument, is it? It’s about WHO is making it. 🙂

As for you personally, I don't hold any particular grudge against you. 🙂

So, tell me, are you actually a doctor—like, with an actual medical degree and everything? 😕
