Look, everyone's got their own taste, but Channing Tatum has always given off this slightly dim-witted vibe to me—not even gonna say anything worse than that. This casting is a total miss. I have no idea who’s pushing this guy through Hollywood, but 👎
🙂 That's exactly what I was about to say. I just remembered Gambit from Wolverine because he was on TV the other day, and honestly, he was great...
And yeah, Tatum just has that look like he was born to play the meathead in a rom-com.☕
Does anyone have a solid recommendation for an orthopedic surgeon who actually knows their stuff? I’m looking for someone who is obsessively dedicated to their craft and has access to real diagnostic and interventional equipment—not just some guy running a tiny one-room private practice in a strip mall. Ever since my nerve damage from a neck injury years ago, my shoulder muscles have been atrophying and the pain is absolutely brutal (you can probably tell by how many hours it's taking me just to type this out) I went to see what they call the "top specialist" in town—person at person—and after a ridiculously expensive ten-minute consultation, he basically told me, "You aren't a candidate for surgery because you can still move your arm. My advice? Just don't strain it. Therapy might help, but it won't do much. Thanks, bye." He didn't even bother looking at my MRI until I practically demanded it, and even then, he spent maybe twenty seconds glancing at it.
I’ve tried EMS twice now... 1/ Back at home, while I had my leg in a cast, I actually shoved some muscle stimulators under the plaster just to keep my calf muscles from completely wasting away. The result? I only lost about 2cm in circumference, even though the doctors were predicting a full 4cm loss. Was that because of the stimulators, or was it something else? Who can say... 2/ Then there was the professional EMS sessions during physical therapy (they had to cut some nerves in my shoulder due to surgery, but I won't get bogged down in all those details): my EMG results actually looked better after the sessions compared to before. Just keep in mind—the EMS was paired with pool exercises and their specific "gym" workouts...
As for abs, biceps, or whatever other muscle groups you want to target—I don't see much point in using them for that. I’d rather stick to standard training where I can build actual conditioning, improve my lung capacity, and work my entire body instead of just focusing on one stimulated patch of skin...
I finally put in my request to see Dr. Radmila Belovic... she used to handle admissions for inpatient stays back at the hospital, but word is she's moved over to outpatient clinics now. The only issue is the wait... luckily I’m not in a massive rush and haven't started panicking about it yet. Whether she's actually any good—or rather, whether she fits what a patient is looking for, since she doesn't have many critics—is something I'll find out next month.

Well, I can't really help you out here, but you can certainly return the favor :-) Can you give me the lowdown tomorrow or the day after? Just some info, impressions, or whatever you think of it?
I'm looking to book an appointment with a physiatrist down in Palm Springs... Has anyone got a recommendation on who I should see, or better yet, who I should steer clear of? If they have specialists on staff there—I'm specifically looking for someone focused on hands, shoulders, and that sort of thing. Is there someone there who specializes in upper body issues, or is the talent split between people who handle athletes and knee injuries versus those who deal with hips and lower back stuff?
What are you even going to do... I'm starting to lose my train of thought here... But look, I make sure not to let that happen too often... Best, without the mood swings... ¤
Patients are difficult people... and even more so when they're actually sick. Those ones? They’re next-level exhausting.. I know my own deal.. my personality has probably shifted 100%.. or maybe it hasn't! Maybe I was just an asshole and a handful from the start.. What do I actually need? Company. I crave social interaction, but I want the kind where people don't try to get inside your head or act all sympathetic toward you—as if it’s some grand tragedy, when really it's just life, like glancing at a neighbor grabbing a beer at a local pub... and stuff like that. I want people who won't lecture me or give me unsolicited advice, which... ugh... finding someone like that is nearly impossible because everyone is such a pathetic listener.. A lot of people lose their cool and stop wanting to hang out once they start dealing with truly sick patients.. You have to actually know how to listen to someone. If that isn't in your DNA, then stay far away from a guy like me, because you'll only end up feeling even more depressed about it.
What do you even say to a doctor (specifically one from the Holy Spirit hospital) who tells a patient—right after performing surgery for a thyroid tumor—that they can smoke or not, only to respond with, "Well, I smoke too..." when asked? Is he seriously suggesting she shouldn't even bother considering it? ¤
I’m heading over to see Dr. Huic at the Mayo Clinic now to get a second opinion... I already saw someone at the Vinogradska clinic earlier. The more people involved, the more information we get, right? Or maybe it just leaves us all more confused than when we started. ¤
That’s a mistake.. his boss’s fault.. he isn't even allowed to handle basic tasks there on his own, let alone perform surgeries.. I think that's how it works—just my best guess..
I guess I’d just do it... if nothing else—so I can finally get some decent sleep at night.. But then you have these "experts" out there, acting like they’re some kind of geniuses with a century of experience, telling me not to pull the implant because 1/ it’s currently dormant and 2/ they might not even find those remnants anyway. They'll probably just pull out whatever looks close enough while cutting through a whole new web of nerves and muscle in the process.. I'll just shut up and do whatever Rebricar says.. ¤
Man, it was brutal... there was so much damage inside. The surgery dragged on for six and a half hours, just a mess of incisions, blood loss, and constant cutting. They basically lost control of the situation. What really gets to me, though, is how they’re just playing it safe by monitoring it. In eight months, I’ll have to wait to hear what another oncologist thinks before making any real moves. But what if they say I need to have it removed? Then I'm stuck with two conflicting opinions from two top-tier specialists. Do I even bother looking for a third opinion? ¤
