Actually, I’d argue that’s way too soft a term for Putin’s fan club. Most of them can't even muster 0.001% of critical thought toward their idol, whom they worship daily through this massive cult of personality. Honestly, his "followers" have all the hallmarks of a fanatic religious cult....

Mind you, not every Putinophile is necessarily a die-hard devotee, but on this forum, the pro-Russia crowd definitely dominates the comment section.

Following that logic, if they wanted to call us—the ones on the other side—something similar, they should probably go with "Westernophiles." I don't mind the label at all, since I genuinely love the West and the core principles of democracy.

I wouldn't go for "Western-lover," though, because I don't have that blind, unconditional devotion to the West that the Putinophiles have for Putin. There is plenty about Western culture that we don't support, something you'll never see from the pro-Russia crowd. As "democrats," we're fully aware of the flaws in Western society; we don't worship it blindly, we just think it's the best system available until something better comes along. On the flip side, when Putinophiles actually complain about Putin's regime, it's usually just because he hasn't been aggressive enough against the West yet, or isn't radical enough about cutting ties and building some parallel world where not a single Western dollar or product touches Russia or its allies....

Looking back at the main complaint of this thread:
Calling people "fascistophiles" isn't some clever, "legitimate" jab, because as far as I know, nobody standing against Putin has ever praised fascism.
So the underlying message of this "legitimate" taunting is: anti-Putinism = fascism. It's like the troll wants us to pick a fascist label in a poll...

In smaller countries, talent scouting just doesn't work like it does in the big leagues. Around here, someone can have killer handles or a decent three-pointer, but if they lack the natural conditioning, they still make the cut. In places like Spain, Germany, or France, a player like that wouldn't even get a look.

Look, I admit I wasn't watching the first 15 minutes, but saying you could've settled this game that early is total nonsense. You could still tell the Spaniards had way more energy throughout the whole match.

I know most of you guys act like "experts" at trashing our head coach—which is typical for these low-rent sports forums—but he actually proved himself right this time. He pulled off an incredible +11 against the Poles and was still right in the fight against the Spaniards until the last five minutes, where their obvious superior freshness really showed.

Even if you guys had dragged this into overtime, I’m 100% sure the Spaniards would've walked away with the win. They just weren't as gassed as Team USA was after that absolute rollercoaster of a game against Poland. Honestly, the American players' reactions were just sub-par because they were totally wiped out. I actually think you got lucky—if Spain had started playing that deep 4-2 defense (it felt like 3-3 at times) in the second half, you would've been down by at least 8. Since you got a break to regroup, you managed to stay in it until the final four minutes.

People on these forums love to trash the coaching staff, but honestly, I don't see any real substance behind the hate this time around.
