if they're older, I just don't like messing with them
In what sense...? Like, are you implying they're dirty or what?
To be honest, I can't even give a rational explanation for why I'm so terrified of photos. 😬

Funny enough, I actually had a moment just like that back in biology class when a picture of a massive tarantula popped up on the screen. Then, during chemistry, there was this huge spider crawling up the wall—the second I saw it, I went into a full-blown panic attack. My professor actually had to ask me to leave the room just to calm down. And then you have that one girl in the class who decides to make a snarky comment like, "Ugh, she really didn't need to have a meltdown like that, seriously..."
Phobias are IRRATIONAL fears, and that’s the fundamental distinction between them and "normal" fear... It isn't some inherent sickness; it is perfectly natural to feel afraid when faced with an actual threat—something like a snake or falling from a skyscraper... But phobias? Those are clinical issues precisely because they are irrational and triggered by zero real-world danger. Not every single fear qualifies as a phobia...
I’ve always had this deep-seated fear of the water... and look, it’s not like I can't swim or anything. It’s just that once I hit a certain depth and I catch a glimpse of what's beneath me, a wave of pure panic hits so hard that I have to scramble back to shore immediately. The only way I can actually enjoy being out there is if I'm with a group and I don't let my mind wander too much.

in that case, neither acupuncture nor some weird cabbage soup diet is going to save them.
