Why are TV shows rated higher than movies? in Movies ·
I was honestly quite taken aback when I came across this rating 😲, especially considering that nearly 53,000 people actually cast
their votes.

Though, I suppose there's a real risk that if a bump develops on your nose, there's a high chance it might start drifting to one side, just like what happened to me. It’s actually quite uncomfortable looking someone in the eye because my nose is such a disaster—it visibly tilts to the side. Profile-wise, it looks fine since the tip is decent, but when someone looks at me head-on or when I catch myself in the mirror, it's just... wow. Total disaster.

I am fairly certain that I will be heading to an ENT very shortly to get my nose fixed both aesthetically and functionally, so I can breathe better and actually look somewhat human. Even if they just straighten it out in the center of my face and leave the bump, I think I’d be satisfied, because this way it's "leaning" to the side, which is just straight-up garbage. I used to have a great nose too, until I took a soccer ball to the face and then, as luck would have it, slammed right into a tripod. It swelled up for a few days and seemed fine, but over the years, this bump kept getting larger and the nose started tilting, so I really do recommend seeing a specialist. 🙂

If I were you, I'd try to book the surgery by telling them you're having trouble breathing; otherwise, you might be waiting several months. You'll undergo full anesthesia and likely spend five or six days in the hospital. All things considered, it's worth it because once it's done, you'll have a straight nose and you'll actually be able to breathe normally.

In her case, if it hasn't been more than two or three days since the fracture, it might still be possible to get it reset immediately under local anesthesia, without all the hassle of extensive exams and hospital stays. That's why it's probably best she goes to get checked out now; because if that bump doesn't go away, she'll end up having to wait months for surgery and deal with being stuck in a hospital bed anyway.
Maria Wood8 said:Hi everyone

Three years ago, I had rhinoplasty, and today I just took a moderately hard hit to my nose—specifically the bridge on the left side.
It hurts when I touch it, and a bump has appeared; the area looks kind of red, too. Do you think it will go down?
There wasn't any bleeding, and it doesn't look too bad, though from a profile view, you can see a bit of swelling.
Please help, guys, what should I do? ;(

It’s quite difficult to say based solely on your description; perhaps it is merely some minor swelling, but if that bump feels firm—meaning, if you sense that the actual structure of your nose has shifted rather than it just being soft inflammation—then I fear you might be dealing with a deviated septum. In that specific scenario, if you manage to get to a hospital within the next 48 hours, they can correct the deviation right then and there (you'll be awake under local anesthesia, but you can head home the same day).
Because if you don't address it immediately, there is a real possibility that the bump will remain permanent, leaving you with no choice but to undergo a corrective surgery later on (which would require general anesthesia and a seven-day hospital stay following the procedure).

If it turns out to be nothing, well, then nothing happened, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get checked out. I would suggest heading straight to the ER or urgent care today, and they can refer you to a specialist at a major medical center like Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins, depending on where you happen to be located.

Suppose someone just swoops in out of nowhere and declares that Juventus wins 1-0 and Liverpool FC wins 2-1, putting a massive amount of money on the line at that moment.
Then you'll inevitably have someone reply, suggesting it’s probably better not to, since Liverpool FC might slip up because Palace plays a certain way or whatever. Then a third person jumps in, claiming Liverpool FC is a sure thing because of this reason or that.

It seems to me that this is how these discussions much more easily spiral into full-blown debates and information exchanges, simply because it is significantly easier to voice an opinion by reacting to someone else's pick rather than actually publishing one's own deep analysis. Most people don't seem capable of writing out a proper breakdown, so they just give up before they even start, and consequently, we all end up being deprived of their actual perspective.

You really ought to read the opening post of this thread.

Wouldn't it perhaps be more efficient if you reinstated the daily threads? That way, people could simply post their pairings and let others weigh in with comments. As it stands now, because everyone feels compelled to write these lengthy analyses, there is significantly less participation overall, which leads to a bit of a paradox where we actually end up with less useful information than if we weren't forced to write such deep dives.
Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
briskotter192 said:The truth is, every single religion is pointing toward the same God, who actually exists.

Best regards,

In my view, all religions are really just describing a specific state of mind where an individual reaches a sense of harmony with their own nature and the universe—a state of self-actualization and productivity characterized by internal peace and love.
The fact that these faiths have morphed into highly politicized institutions centered around personality cults surrounding figures like Jesus or Muhammad suggests to me that people have completely missed the fundamental essence of these spiritual paths, choosing instead to fixate on the outward packaging.

Mark Carter65 said:Hey everyone... I might have stumbled upon a rather fascinating betting strategy... specifically regarding player prop over/unders... say we look at odds of 1.85... if we were to pick, for instance, 8 different players... that would yield 64 possible combinations... assuming the stake per individual slip was $1.75... the total investment would come out to $107... and since one of those 64 slips would naturally be the winner... the payout would be: 1.85^8 = 137.2062 times the stake $1.75 which equals $218... which essentially means a guaranteed daily profit of $111... the only real hurdle, I suppose, is the tedious task of actually constructing all 64 combinations... if there were some sort of software to handle these permutations, one could probably earn a very decent daily wage with just a little bit of effort...

The math actually dictates that (1/2)^8 = 1/256 is your true probability of hitting, yet they are offering you odds closer to 1/137, which is nearly twice as bad as it should be.
I guess this serves as a perfect illustration of how much money American sportsbooks rake in; you would practically need to be a mathematical genius to actually turn a profit using a system like that.

I have been analyzing the player point totals over the last three days, and I suppose the split between the under and the over sits at roughly 46 to 16.☕

Wednesday's play:

Portland Trail Blazers +3.5 -105 This is what Dad from the forum suggests http://www.forum.h he is on an insane 16:1 run

The tipster is riding a wild 16-2 streak, so I suppose it might be worth following him, given that's basically an 88.88% win rate.
My only real grievance, if I'm being honest, is that I didn't even hear about him until he was already 16-0, but I guess there is no point in nitpicking now.

The odds on Atlanta at 1.15 and Boston at 1.25 just don't offer any real value, I suppose, unless you are absolutely 90% certain about a victory—and let’s be honest, that’s never the case because someone always chokes these days...
If we were looking at 1.30 and 1.45, then maybe we could actually have a conversation about placing a significant wager.
In my view, putting down large sums on such minuscule coefficients is essentially long-term suicide. You should only do that when you are completely sure of the outcome, which happens perhaps a few times a month, rather than just blindly picking random scraps from today's NBA slate.

Michael Diaz said:I suppose I should probably get started on this. $33 You have to put down $1,200... and I suppose you would need to hit roughly eight outcomes—based on a loose calculation of the odds—just to break even on your initial stake. It’s really just basic math at that point; everything else, of course, is entirely up to your own discretion. 🤷

Personally, I’d much rather just play all twelve X options... at least one usually covers my stake... and honestly, it isn't exactly rare to see three of them actually hit. 😁

James Taylor3 told me to put my money on the Orlando Magic to cover an 18.0 point spread against the Houston Rockets—it’s a pretty enticing line, I guess.

I honestly fail to grasp why there is such an aggressive obsession with over/under betting lines. It seems incredibly difficult to accurately predict exactly how many minutes a specific player will actually see on the floor; take Rose, for instance, who barely even attempted a shot during the first quarter yesterday
With an 1.85 line plus those manipulative vig costs, I suppose one would find much better value simply heading to a casino to bet on red or an odd number; an 18/37 probability offers a far superior return

Looking over today’s slate, I find myself somewhat drawn to the 2.85 odds on Memphis playing against the Spurs. I suppose there might just be enough room for an upset to occur down in San Antonio tonight, but I wonder what everyone else thinks about that possibility?
Furthermore, it strikes me that the 3.0 line for the Houston game against Orlando—which took place earlier this evening—might actually be a bit excessive. I would certainly appreciate some insight or perhaps a detailed analysis regarding these specific matchups if anyone is willing to share. Thanks.
