Megan Rodriguez44 said:before I could even get out the words—you know, "hold on, let's just go to the ticket booth and pay for a day pass instead"—she had already grabbed the ticket from the machine😁

but in the end, it didn't really make any difference🙂

anyway, where are the photos? 🙂

That’s kind of the trick—you grab the ticket from the kiosk, head inside so the people behind you aren't stuck waiting, then walk back over to the booth and swap the kiosk ticket for a full day pass. 🙂

Here's one photo; the rest are probably floating around online somewhere. 😉

I guess—why didn't you guys just grab a day pass for $5.00?

I watched the movie—it's actually quite good. 😁 👍

Robin Rodriguez5 said:She released her album not too long ago—she's been touring here and there. I think she played at Miami around that month they were doing those new wave shows.

Yeah, it was a great show—we actually have some photos. 😉
I just caught my first live death disco set, and honestly, I was blown away.
It felt like a smaller, more Bauhaus-inspired version of bands like Talking Heads or Joy Division—a combination that just seems unbeatable 👍
Does anyone know where I can pick up the CD? 😁

gratefull death said:I agree—there are still plenty of incredible bands out there today. It just seems like most people only listen to whatever the mainstream media pushes as the "next big thing," and they assume that’s all there is to music.
The thing is, you actually have to go looking for them. I bet anyone could find a band they love if they tried; the issue is that these groups aren't getting radio play or massive commercial backing.
In a few decades, I think people will look back and regret missing out on them. 😬

That’s exactly why last.fm exists, 😉

Nancy Taylor552 said:I’m honestly fascinated by that whole new wave era... it was just different. The entire scene was following its own rhythm, its own vibe... I’d give anything to go back to those days. Back then, the American underground was pure chaos—just straight-up rock and roll. 🙂 People used to hang out on those legendary gritty streets... music was playing everywhere you turned. You had bands like The Clash or Ramones playing in tiny, packed clubs... even the first big indie festivals were kicking off in cities like Seattle or Austin. The scene was just massive. 🙂 It was wild... yeah, those were the days. A perfect time, really. There was a certain set of values people actually stood for back then. 😉

Respect to the new wave, but there are plenty of great bands out right now,
if you actually bother to look.
I don't get people—they’re always mourning what they lack instead of seeing the good in what's right in front of them.
Kevin Chavez3 makes a fair point; in 10 or 20 years, you might find yourself crying for the music we have today.

C U there 😉
Steven Williams5 said:It might be a bit long—but I suppose that’s just how things are these days.

Personally, I actually think the length works—it doesn't feel dragged out, especially since there's a break in the middle.
Just finished watching the second one and I’m honestly impressed—it actually felt more engaging and fun than the first film.
I don't really get the hostility at the start of this thread. 😕
The fifteen-minute break was a nice touch—just enough time to step out for a cigarette and take care of some business.
Really looking forward to the third installment. 👍

Here we go, here we 😁
I just rewatched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for the 30th time—honestly, I'm more hyped for the sequel than ever.
I can't wait for 👍
I mean, I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy the film—given that I've always been a huge fan of pirate themes myself 😁

It seems reasonable enough 😁
Wronže, do you happen to have a ticket?

No, even out in California, everything is completely sold out 😢

I called Dallas yesterday—checked with General Tourist and the local Dancing Bear crews in places like Slidell, Mobile, and even River City—and everywhere I called, they told me the same thing: it's sold out nationwide.

Let me know if you can grab another ticket for me too 🙄

The acting isn't exactly top-tier—maybe a bit wooden—but the script is genuinely great, so I guess it's worth a watch.

James Morris7 said:Hey there... am I even online? 😁 I guess I was just thinking about that old white Ford Bronco. :honorable_pioneer_smiley:

A fender bender...😢...some scratches...😍>

That’s really what it was about, though—the struggle. You know... hitting an incline... shifting into third... nothing happens... barely makes it in second... then you're moving... will we make it!?... the summit!!!... yes!!!...😁
Those are the memories...😍

Sure, but that's only after you finally get it to turn over following 73 attempts, two dead batteries, cleaning the spark plugs, and messing with the carburetor. 😁>
You’re forgetting the part where you have to tap the carburetor because the float got stuck.
Give me a break, there's nothing romantic about that. 😛

James Morris7 said:I guess my only regret is that I never really got the chance to drive one. 🙂 😬

You didn't miss much, honestly—just a massive pile of metal that barely moves—so I don't exactly feel a sense of nostalgia for it.
But then again, the Art Institute of Chicago, New York City... that’s a different story entirely. 😉
