The main thing I need to figure out is this: what are the actual survival rates for people dealing with throat cancer? My dad is having a really hard time swallowing lately. Other than that, he seems okay, but the throat pain is constant. Is it better to go through with a laryngectomy, or should we be looking at radiation therapy? He hasn't lost his voice yet, it’s just that eating and drinking has become such a struggle because of the swallowing issues... He doesn't smoke, though...

Hey there. If anyone wants to reach out, consider this a huge virtual hug from me. About a month ago, my dad was diagnosed with throat cancer. Honestly, we’d suspected something was off for about a year, but I guess I was just playing the part of the optimist. I wanted to believe the doctors were on top of it, even though deep down, I had this nagging feeling they weren't actually getting anywhere with him... It’s incredibly frustrating. They didn't catch anything until he was literally in agony, screaming and begging for help. Now, he’s stuck in the hospital waiting for throat surgery. We don't even know what the procedure entails yet or when it will happen—whether they have to remove his larynx or not. He’s such a sweetheart, a truly wonderful man. To make matters worse, it took them an entire week just to get him scheduled for an ergometry test. He finally did it today, but we're still sitting in limbo waiting for the results. On top of everything, he still needs a cardiac ultrasound. He'll be home for the weekend, but I am absolutely terrified.

Whatever you guys think about him—and honestly, where he’s even landed these days—is entirely up to you. But when it comes to his performance as Legolas in *The Lord of the Rings*, that is absolute law.
And if anyone has the nerve to claim he can't act in that movie, they’re going to have to deal with me.

Pink Panther (Peter Sellers)

njuškalo;9904160 said:I wish Sellers nothing but the best; the man was an absolute powerhouse of talent. As for the Pink Panther series? Well, it actually made sense right up until he passed away. After his death, all those subsequent movies—especially "Trail of the Pink Panther"—just feel completely pointless. It’s like they’re desperately trying to milk the late Peter's genius just to cash in on old glory. All those constant references to his portrayal of Clouseau are honestly embarrassing and frankly distasteful. Even watching something like "Curse of the Pink Panther" is just painful...
I'm with you on this one. The later entries in the Pink Panther series don't even come close to the originals. They should have just called it quits after "Trail of the Pink Panther" and left it at that. Instead, we got that last one with that obnoxious Steve Martin... 😠
Best opening scenes of all time?

The first 10 minutes of The Lord of the Rings: Part 1. I swear, I almost fell right out of my theater seat because my head started spinning. 😍

I was watching this movie on TV the other day, and honestly? I was pretty let down. Don't get me wrong, the acting was solid, but the soundtrack just wouldn't stick—it wasn't catchy at all—and the whole thing felt incredibly slow. It definitely isn't an Oscar contender in my book. I guess back then, they just didn't have many better options to choose from. 👎

Honestly, you’re being an absolute idiot. I have to agree with mistyheron39 on this one. If you're looking for a brand new experience, maybe try taking a bullet to the head instead? At least that way you'd be doing your poor parents a favor (assuming they even exist). I'm not even going to bother replying to someone this dense. 🙂
