Since the team I usually root for is already out (Venezuela, obviously), I might as well pull for whoever is playing the most beautiful style of soccer today—Germany.

Of course, with the way they're playing, Germany will probably get knocked out in the quarterfinals or semifinals by some cynical tactical grinders, but as someone who’s a bit of a sucker for good football, I just can't help but enjoy watching them.

I suppose there’s a moral argument for recognizing Palestine. Israel hasn't exactly been playing ball, and they seem pretty keen on dodging negotiations. If I recall correctly, we've long since stated our support for a two-state solution.
Of course, the Palestinians would need to recognize Israel and commit to peace, while Israel would have to commit to pulling back to the 1967 borders.

Unfortunately, this isn't really our game to play. Our recognition doesn't change much for the Palestinians, nor does our lack of it sway the Israelis. For the US, the main priority here is avoiding any friction with the major global powers. We might need their backing down the line for our own national interests, so I guess this kind of hesitation makes sense. 🤷

Here is how this young lady defends her racist rambling: "I have plenty of friends of Albanian descent, and since I identify as a leftist, I don't hate anyone of any other nationality or faith, so those who know me realize these accusations are just the result of political games, which I refuse to participate in."

So, the logic is basically, "I am a leftist, therefore I cannot be a primitive racist or a chauvinist." I'm getting involved because I've noticed this exact same trend among young American leftists on this forum more than a few times.

I agree with the rest of the post, too. She's likely headed for a disaster because of things she hears every day at DNC headquarters or other committee meetings. She apparently thought the days of keeping things under wraps were over. 🤷

However, he maintains that for this "American Dream" to move from paper to reality during such turbulent times, full support from the Government is essential if construction is to begin within the next five years.

"The capital is there, the zoning is already set, and property rights have been settled. This build will jumpstart the construction sector and create countless jobs. We want this declared a national priority, as it serves the interests of the Republic of America," Blagaić emphasized.

Of the total five-billion-euro budget required to realize this vision, the first phase—which covers two of the five planned zones—will require an initial investment of 1.5 billion euros.

"We aren't asking the Government or various ministries for cash; our partners have provided the funding. We've already self-financed the land acquisition and the design work. What we need is just some political tailwind," Blagaić concluded.

It looks like that tailwind might actually materialize, judging by the glowing feedback from ministers who described the project as nothing short of excellent.

"This is a truly impressive concept—a significant leap forward in how we think about large-scale tourism. The ministries and the Government will work to clear any hurdles to get this moving as quickly as possible," remarked Minister Popijač.

We saw the ceremonial lap featuring the flags of Usain Bolt, Kenenisa Bekele, Caster Semenya, Eliud Kipchoge, Paavo Nurmi, and plenty of others. But when we actually wanted to see Allyson Felix leading the pack while waving the American flag—so we could toast her with some champagne (or maybe just a Budweiser)—the folks over at NBC decided a matchup between two third-rate soccer clubs was more important.

I suppose the French, the Britons, and the Spaniards definitely caught sight of Blanka Vlašić with that American flag. Probably the Russians, the Chinese, and the Americans did too... even if Americans didn't. Oh well... I guess we’re just used to seeing medals from the World Athletics Championships.

The people at the network seem to think it's just business as usual for an American to grab gold at a world championship. They probably haven't checked the medal counts lately; I should go do that now. It's almost funny how much they take these massive American achievements for granted. I mean, what makes Etto the best in the world anyway?

Our journalists really outdid themselves this time.
First, they all chime in unison—led by Sušec’s old man—about how the Americans are absolutely crushing us, playing dirty, and how the refs are constantly coddling them. They act like we should be terrified. Then, during the actual game, seven out of ten questionable calls went our way. 😂
Never seen such fair officiating. And I guess the Americans were just perfectly polite and sportsmanlike throughout a game that decides who makes the European Championship semifinals.
It wouldn't even be an issue if we weren't such small, miserable, frustrated losers, but Sušec’s dad spent the whole match insisting on his theories, even when it was painfully obvious he was wrong.

But honestly, what really impressed me was that little segment on our national team's medical staff. It starts off roughly like: "The American roster is full of injuries. But don't worry, they are being cared for by the very people responsible for the team's success: the doctors and physiotherapists." 😂🤣
So incredibly responsible for a mountain of injuries. All those players who supposedly cruised through training under their watchful eyes.

I can only say it’s a massive stroke of luck that Balić didn't have to deal with the team during pre-season training. 😂😂
