2010 British GP - Silverstone (July 11) in Formula 1 ·
This upcoming season is basically just going to be one giant circus of pure stupidity. 🤦 You’ve got the sheer idiocy coming from Ferrari (and their drivers 😵), the complete nonsense happening over at Red Bull Racing, and then you have the officials who can't make a decent call to save their lives... honestly, the championship isn't even going to go to the most talented driver; it’ll just go to whoever manages to be the least much of an idiot by the end of the year. 😁

No way, let's dump it straight into Gastronomy. Might as well have them merge it with this thread right now. 🙂 😁
HELP! Daley Popovic stole my song!! in Music ·
Honestly, Popovic is absolute bottom-of-the-barrel trash. 😠 I mean, talk about a total lack of integrity—stealing a masterpiece like that is just pathetic. 😢
Kevin Chavez3 said:What happened, anyway? Just a bunch of nonsense?

Oh, it definitely happened, but honestly, it was mostly just some reckless, drunken driving circling around Central Park at like 4 in the morning. 🙈 We did three laps, easy. 🙏 🙏 🙏

It was such a ridiculous scene when this guy actually pulled us over and asked if we even knew where the hell we were going. 🤣
I’ve gotta give it to the organizers, though—they actually stepped up this time by having plenty of attentive, sharp-eyed security guards on hand. 👍

"But honestly, you guys are just running in circles for the third time now," 🙈 🤣

Jacob Foster11 said:Implementing that kind of automation would actually make life a hell of a lot easier for everyone involved. It gives users the peace of mind knowing they can jump into any discussion without suddenly getting slapped with a penalty just because they decided to breathe life into an old thread.

Right now, the workflow is totally backwards. A user spots a topic that looks genuinely interesting, decides to weigh in, and then—BAM—they get hit with a strike for "necroposting." It makes zero sense. My question is simple: if you aren't allowed to respond to a thread, why is the thread even open for replies in the first place? Why not just lock it?

Honestly, people just need to use their heads before they start typing. 🙂

Take that one instance in the US, for example, where some folks kept reviving a four-year-old thread about suicide. They were basically feeding into the original poster's death wish by keeping the whole thing active. 🤦 It was a mess. 🤣

So, yeah, handing out strikes for sheer stupidity? I say go for it. Totally fine by me. 😁

Jacob Foster11 said:We really ought to just automate this whole thing, kind of like how they handle it on those other big international forums. You could just whitelist certain massive megathreads or evergreen topics, and then set everything else to auto-lock after, say, three or six months of total silence.

Terrible idea.

I’d much rather have actual moderators who actually use their brains than some mindless automation script that just ends up screwing over the users. 🙂
I mean, honestly, if you think about it, there’s something almost poetic about how people just drift through life without a single care in the world, much like how some folks seem to navigate a grocery store aisle—just wandering aimlessly past the organic kale and the overpriced artisanal sourdough, completely oblivious to the chaos happening in the frozen food section. It’s that specific kind of detached, slightly chaotic energy that really gets me thinking about how we all just sort of stumble into our roles, whether we're trying to be productive members of society or just someone trying to figure out why the local Starbucks ran out of oat milk again. It’s all part of the grand, messy tapestry of existence, isn't it? Just one long, winding road of minor inconveniences and strange coincidences. kaže:
It’s kind of like this weird, nagging sensation where you think, okay, yeah, this band is actually pretty decent—like, they’re objectively cool and have some solid tracks—but for some reason, your brain just refuses to process them. It’s almost like your mind is treating their music like a transplanted organ that the body is actively trying to reject. You know what I mean? You’re sitting there, the sound is hitting your ears, you logically recognize the talent, but there's this fundamental disconnect, an internal immune response where your psyche is just like, "No thanks, we didn't ask for this," and tries to push the whole vibe right back out.😢 Look, at the end of the day, you still show up to the concert. You spend half the night just waiting for that one specific song you actually recognize, and then halfway through, you hit that weirdly uncomfortable stage where everything starts feeling off—you know, like when your underwear starts riding up in all the wrong places and suddenly every little thing is driving you insane. It’s especially grating when you’ve got some group of people behind you constantly whining about how the band is "only playing the hits," while you're sitting there genuinely struggling to tell the difference between an actual anthem and some deep cut they think is a banger. So, you eventually give up, head outside to light a cigarette, and just breathe for a second. Then you wander back in for the finale, tell everyone afterward that it was "pretty decent," head home, and pretty much forget the whole experience ever happened—except for that little spark of satisfaction knowing you actually made it out to see the last FM show. 😕

😂 🤣

No, honestly? When that hits me, I just start pouring drinks like there’s no tomorrow—just total animal mode—because I’m trying to drown out whatever mess I was even involved in halfway through the night. 😁
Mark Cox15 said:Over the course of three days of music and five days of camping, about 50,000 people from the US and all over the world showed up. Interestingly enough, the biggest crowd of international travelers actually hung out in the campgrounds, which saw folks traveling in from everywhere—Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia, New Zealand, North Mexico, Italy, Poland, Canada, Canada, and Mexico.

Does it feel like that many people were actually there to you guys? Personally, I’d say maybe 15,000 to 20,000 at most.

I honestly have no clue; it's tough to get a real read on things when everyone is spread out across the grounds, but 50K feels like a massive stretch to me. 🤷
cosmicpilot22 said:All in all, it was pretty mid. The logistics were a mess—like, the scheduling was all over the place—and honestly, seeing people acting like total idiots out there just confirms my suspicions. And don't even get me started on that trashy Alice in Chains singer who looks like a budget version of Lenny Kravitz _-), or those MTV-style bands like Rise Against... totally inappropriate for a crowd with kids present..

Just suck it up. ☕
redmarlin3 said:Man, I think this might actually be the most overpriced concert I’ve been to in the last decade, for crying out loud 😠

🤣

Even though everything they play sounds terrible to me after a while, I’m still genuinely shocked by how much garbage people can cram into their ears and somehow pass off as high class. 🙂 😁

The thing is, you haven't even heard the worst of it yet. 😬
Pitchfork 👍 👍

The Flaming Lips 👍

Flogging Molly 🙏 🙏 🙏 😍

I don't really have the energy to get into all the nitty-gritty details right now—honestly, I haven't caught a wink of sleep since yesterday morning. 🤣
Megan Rodriguez44 said:😕 I mean, people practically lean in just to check if my original outfit is actually buttoned up right. Like, what am I even doing that looks so suspicious..? 😕

Look, I have zero clue, because I haven't seen what you look like. 😁
Adam Moore said:either you just play it smart like a true American hustler and cover up that massive security seal with some heavy-duty glue so it looks untouched, or you just hope for the best. Honestly, there’s zero visible difference unless the guy running the gate decides to spend five whole minutes squinting at your wristband.

What kind of "control" are we even talking about here? I just gave him a little wave while walking by, and since my sleeve was pulled down over the band, he could only see the very edge of it anyway. I could have been waving a random scrap of plastic from a takeout container and he wouldn't have known the difference. 😬
Megan Rodriguez44 said:Even after all those massive seasons of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, heavy metal shows, and stuff like that, I still can't seem to get my life together enough to catch everything I actually want to see. If I'm not busy writing, I'm either grabbing a drink or just wandering aimlessly around. It's a mess.

The answer is multitasking. 😁 You can easily knock out at least two of those things at once, and if you really push yourself, you can juggle even more. 😁
Kevin Chavez3 said:Honestly, the LCD Soundsystem set was absolute perfection, but everything else? Total garbage. I’m sitting here wishing Flogging Molly were still playing yesterday so I wouldn't have to drag myself back out there again today. 🤮

Don't give me that crap—you're seriously telling me you were actually there at the Rise Against show instead of being at the concert? 😲 🙂

Man, Rise Against absolutely crushed it tonight. Seriously, they just tore the house down. 🙏 🙏 👍 The band was absolutely electric, the crowd was losing their minds, and there was a massive circle pit going off right in the middle of the mud. 🙂 :pank:
copperjackal89 said:Look, it’s a rock show, plain and simple. If she wants to go sit in a stuffy concert hall listening to chamber music with that kind of attitude, then by all means, let her! 😉

I think you're totally missing the point here. ☕ An engaged, rowdy crowd is what makes a rock concert actually feel alive. People throwing mud? Those are just idiots. ☕

ambertiger said:Totally agree—I rolled in around 11 and ended up right in the thick of it, not that I’m complaining! :) Honestly, I had a blast regardless, but I was an idiot for wearing sneakers; I’ve spent the last half hour scrubbing them clean.

🙂 🤣

There is literally several pounds of sludge caked onto my Steve Maddens. 😲 Like, how on earth am I supposed to get this stuff off? 😂

brightridge59 said:The mud didn't bother me one bit. In fact, I wore it like a badge of honor for the rest of the night! 🤣

🙂

Chain was actually pretty killer, but the rest of the lineup definitely held the night together better. 🙏

Nah. 😁
Chance the Rapper was absolutely killing it. 👍 🙏

Honestly, I have zero respect for the crowd. 🤮

We missed the opening set (yeah, yeah, I know, 🤦) and spent the whole time fighting our way to the front, but somehow my girlfriend didn't spill a single drop of her beer. Not one. We didn't even get elbowed in the face once. We didn't even have to shove through people. Seriously, screw you guys. ☕ If you're going to act like that, maybe just head over to Carnegie Hall to listen to some chamber music instead. ☕

And I couldn't care less about the idiots who thought throwing mud around was a brilliant idea. 🤦 My girl actually took a hit right in the eye. 😠

Yeah, you’ve been doing a stellar job of staying "active" considering you haven't posted a single thing from this account in two whole years. 🤣 I can't help but wonder how much of a menace you were back when you were running around with all those clone accounts. 😁

Alright, let's get down to business, though. Your appeal—or whatever we're calling this formal request—has been officially logged, and we'll get it sorted out as quickly as possible once we've finished a thorough, unbiased deep dive into the situation. 😁
