The average undergraduate IQ sits at 115—which implies your typical Psychology TA is actually less intelligent than their own students. Makes you think, doesn't it? 🙂

Hmm... yeah. Honestly, I’m sitting here wondering why this thread even exists in the first place.

Like I’ve already said: this is just a pathetic, transparent attempt to vent some frustrations and play the troll.

Fair point. I mean, I'm pretty sure the average physics major is a total genius... but there are always exceptions. And let's be real, those exceptions are usually pretty glaring. ☕

My cat... and honestly, I don't think I'm ever going to swap him out for another one, though maybe I'll just try taking some photos from a different angle to see if we can capture that perfect shot. 🙂

I mean, what is this forum even for? It exists precisely so you can realize there are people out there dealing with way more chaotic nonsense than you are, which is basically the only reason I keep logging on myself🤣
Seriously, you're such an emo clown 🤣

The whole point of starting this thread is actually pretty simple, though I have a feeling most of you skipped right over the main idea while scrolling through. ☕ I honestly find myself wondering who’s actually going to bite on that blatant flame bait... I mean, come on. If a psychologist actually falls for something that transparently obnoxious, they probably don't have nearly enough IQ to be practicing their profession in the first place. 😁

How long does this weight usually sit on you? Are these depressive episodes a regular thing for you, or just hit out of nowhere? Have you ever actually reached out to anyone—like, tried talking to a friend or even family members about what’s going on?

Andrew Ramos10 said:I honestly didn't even know how to come up with a title for this... I just feel so incredibly low right now... just completely useless.
It feels like everything I touch in this life just falls apart. My whole existence feels like one big, continuous mess. There was a time when I truly believed that if I just worked hard enough, I could actually achieve my dreams and, you know, make something of myself...
But today? Today, the thing holding me back is this crushing feeling that I’m absolutely nothing... just a tiny, insignificant speck in the universe.
It's like all those simple, beautiful things that bring people joy are just out of my reach... family, friends, everything... they seem too good for someone like me.
I don't even have the energy to try anymore.
Sometimes this wave of hopelessness hits me so hard that I just want to crawl into a dark corner and hide from the world...
Even as I'm typing this out, the tears are just flowing... I feel so pathetic.
I find myself wondering if I'm secretly just looking for someone to pity me... why can't I just grit my teeth and fight through it like everyone else does?
I know life isn't easy for anyone else either...
But for me, the urge to just retreat and shut everyone out is overwhelming... is it normal for everyone to hit these lows sometimes?
I really don't know...
Please, don't start throwing advice at me... I'm not depressed, I'm not on any medication, nothing like that.
I just want to hear your stories... tell me about the times you felt deeply sad and felt like nobody in the world actually cared about you.

Man... my story on this is pretty much the same old song and dance every single time, which honestly gets exhausting... whenever I’m hitting rock bottom, I just put on this blank, stone-faced mask, pretend everything is perfectly fine, and try to white-knuckle my way through it all by myself. Nobody has any clue what's actually brewing under the surface... and obviously, playing the "I'm fine" card never actually fixes anything; it just lets the pressure build until everything starts spiraling even harder.

Seriously though, people, have you all collectively lost your minds? And no, I’m not just being dramatic or asking a rhetorical question here. This level of paranoia and these straight-up hallucinations are becoming a massive problem, especially when you see everyone dropping unsolicited advice about priests and exorcisms in a place like this. It’s honestly wild how this whole "alternative medicine" nonsense from those sketchy PDFs is spreading like wildfire everywhere 🙄

"Occasionally," huh? Look, Nex, it's fine, 🙂 there's no need to be embarrassed. You can just admit that you actually swallow everything those authors write and occasionally tune into Oprah too. This is a Psychology thread; we allow even more blunt confessions here than people do in the US. 😂 From "I can't find a partner" to "I am hitting my head against a wall," provided you include the mandatory disclaimer of "occasionally" or "I have a friend who does that," depending on which version makes you feel more comfortable. 🤣

😂

No, it’s more like "occasionally" because I honestly read everything... I mean, I'll jump from self-help manuals straight into trashy crime novels, then pivot to biographies of Soviet dictators, and somehow end up with a chick lit paperback by mistake 😁 And besides, the local library won't let you check out more than three books at once anyway 😢

But hey, you actually gave me a pretty interesting topic to chew on.

shadowcrane192 said:Has anyone here actually delved into the titles found in those local bookstores under the "self-help" section? I find myself wondering if any of you have derived genuine value from them, or if it is all merely an exercise in selling smoke and mirrors. If you have encountered anything truly substantive, I would certainly welcome your recommendations.

Every single time I spot one of those titles on a shelf, my mind immediately jumps to some trendy influencer on TV doing a promo with Oprah Winfrey, acting like they personally stumbled upon the secret sauce to solving every single human struggle ever known. 🙄 Sometimes I'll grab one from the library just to skim through and see what the fuss is about, but honestly, I can't bring myself to take them seriously... I genuinely feel like scrolling through the threads on this forum provides way more substance than reading any of those glossy paperbacks. 🙂

Yeah, it explicitly says they don't do that just because a user asks... which is pretty much the exact opposite of what you're claiming here.🙂

@ Donna Cooper98: seriously, who pissed you off this bad? I mean, we've got like 90,000 members in this group—even if you count all the bots and burner accounts—so surely there's a decent chunk of sane people floating around in here somewhere.🤷

Fair play? in Soccer ·
Bradley Fisher3 said:If people watched this game without that heavy anti-Italian bias, they’d see that the Italians were actually being decent by kicking the ball out the second they saw an opponent go down, which is a huge difference from the Spaniards who tended to just keep playing until the ref finally blew the whistle... And as for Di Natale, one good play doesn't make a career.
When I think about fair play, the first person who comes to mind is that guy everyone calls the "fascist who has no place in soccer"—Di Canio—and of course, he's Italian too...

The very same Di Canio who pulls a red card and then decides to take a swing at the ref right there on the pitch? Yeah, sure, let's call that "fair play." 🤷

Look, Sirin's F1 car is maybe 180 cm wide. There is easily over 4 meters of open pavement on the left side. I honestly have no idea what kind of narrow backroads you're driving on if you actually think two trucks couldn't pass that thing with room to spare.☕
Trip Report: Canada (Montreal) - June 8, 2008 in Formula 1 ·
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg aren't just colorblind; they’re basically flying blind at this point 🙄 I might be misremembering the angle, but if I recall correctly, there was enough room on Kimi Raikkonen's left side for a small convoy to pass through, so if our "golden boy" couldn't manage to slot in, he could have at least steered the damn thing slightly to the side. Honestly, keeping an F1 car under control at 50 miles/h 🙄
is apparently asking too much for some people.
Anyway, kudos to BMW—I really hope they maintain this momentum through the rest of the season because I am dying to see a real title fight between Raikkonen-Massa-Kubica 😉

edit: okay, I just went back and rewatched the replay: it wasn't even a question of whether another F1 car could squeeze past Kimi Raikkonen; there was enough space for two semi-trucks to pass him comfortably 🙄 Lewis Hamilton 🙂 🤣
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Honestly, that’s probably just some weird quirk with the PCI-E bus settings, so it shouldn't really have anything to do with how you're overclocking the GPU.

I have to go into the BIOS and flip a specific setting first.

Which option exactly?
