Suggestion: Can we make avatars larger? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I don't see any issue with the server itself since the owner can just set the allowed avatar size to 9.8kb; they simply need to increase the maximum pixel dimensions. 😬

An avatar 100 x100 isn't exactly meant for a photo album; it's actually a fairly standard dimension compared to most other American forums.

75x75 really isn't much.

It’s 2011, not 2000. Monitors are huge and high-res now...
Does it even make sense to stick to 50x50 pixel avatars? 🤷

Increasing them to 100x100, or at least 75x75, wouldn't hurt the Reddit layout.

And don't just claim it would ruin the look of the site...
🤦 😁
Dammit 🤣

It’s pointless to me. I think this needs some revision; we aren't living 2000 years ago where everyone is stuck using monitors with 800x600 or 1024x768 resolutions 🤷

The size should be bumped up to at least 60x60 for regular users and 75x75 for moderators—maybe even 75x75 or 100x100—without ruining the forum's layout or usability. It would make people happy.

Go whisper that to the big boss 🙂 😁
I notice several users here are using 60x60 avatars.
Why am I restricted to 50x50 instead?
My previous avatar was 60x60...
Has there been a change to the site settings regarding allowed avatar dimensions? 🤷
I'm not really feeling the "ignore" option... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
We have nothing against you, Sigurna. Live and let live. 👍

If that isn't enough, then there's an old saying for that: "There's the door."

Messaging bug? in Forum Help! ·
It says I have two unread messages in my inbox, but when I open it, instead of seeing those new messages at the top, I just find this sitting at the bottom. Wtf? 😕 🤷

Please include gender in every post in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I believe this is an excellent suggestion. I once responded to a post from a user thinking they were female based solely on their username. 🙈 🤣

Adding a small gender icon next to the post login wouldn't hurt anyone.
Standard 40-hour work week? in Economy ·
Dennis Myers6 said:So why are kids constantly glued to their screens or the TV?
1. Because parents are basically working themselves to death just to pay the bills.
2. Because it’s the cheapest way to keep them busy—like, joining a Little League team or paying for gymnastics is ten times more expensive than back in the day.
3. Because we live in a consumerist hellscape.

Every kid is their own person, really, and they mostly just raise themselves anyway.
If I had actually listened to everything my parents told me, or if I had just copied everything they did—good or bad—I probably wouldn't be sitting here rambling on some internet forum right now.

And that whole idea about an eight-hour workday? It’s basically a myth at this point.
The global pace of work is just insane; everything is treated like it's life-or-death and needs to happen right this second.

Does anyone else feel like they've hit a wall, physically and mentally, regardless of how many hours they actually clock? Like you've crushed a mountain of tasks—important or totally useless—and you're convinced today was the absolute peak of exhaustion.
And then tomorrow, it’s just more of the same grind, more urgency, more chaos, and you're stuck in that exact same loop again.

🙂

In my view, the issue isn't lack of time or money, but rather a lack of willpower and energy from the adults.
It’s simply easier to dump a kid in front of a screen and let them entertain themselves instead of actually engaging with them.

Another factor: you can't just run out and play in the neighborhood like you could twenty or thirty years ago. Back then, our parents mostly left us to our own devices; we spent way more time outdoors than inside.

And interestingly, nobody complained about kids being loud back then. Reading through various housing forums lately, people act like it's a total nightmare when children play near their windows—when apparently we were a "nightmare" to the entire neighborhood. 🤣
New skin? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Jacob Foster11 said:We could just add a menu with about 10 different skins (including this one as the default), and everyone can pick what they actually like. Save the preference in a cookie and call it a day in the USA.

So, why hasn't this been implemented yet? 😁
The bank is taking my entire paycheck... in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Anyone planning to take out a mortgage with monthly payments exceeding $1.00 should read this thread. It would likely make many reconsider the risks they are inviting.

If I were in the author's shoes, I’d bite the bullet and put the house on the market immediately.

But we aren't all cut from the same cloth. If he believes these sacrifices are worth it and there's a genuine chance things will turn around, then fine—good luck to him.
I just sincerely hope he isn't stuck living like this for another 10 or 15 years. 😢
Why was my thread deleted? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The original thread has been restored since the initial post actually made sense once the advertisement portion was removed.

Please adhere to the subforum rules moving forward. If you decide to start a new thread, ensure it is coherent; those last two topics were completely nonsensical.

In any case, you wrote it much better in your initial post. What's the issue? Specifically, in the section that wasn't just an ad for going out:

_____________________
I'm curious about what you all think regarding people who go out alone...

My issue is that I'm not particularly talkative, and meeting new people is a struggle, especially if they are like me. If the other person does most of the talking, it isn't such a problem. Because of this, I don't have many friends, and the ones I do have aren't really the type to go out. Usually, I go out with one friend, but it becomes an issue when they don't want to, because I would go out every Friday and Saturday. So, perhaps once every two or three weeks, I end up going out by myself.

Once again today, nobody wants to go, so I will likely be alone again. I am simply wondering what your thoughts are—is this strange to you or what?

Topic deleted due to lack of substance.

Going out alone can actually be better since you aren't relying on friends...
And? Are you looking for validation that you're "normal" or something?

Write a more detailed, coherent, and high-quality post if you don't want it deleted.
Best cough remedies? in Health ·
I need to revive this thread. This intense dry cough paired with a sore throat is killing me.
I picked up some Panacea Forte tablets, but they aren't doing a thing. It's like I didn't even take them. 🙄

I see Mucinex being mentioned here. What about propolis spray? Or something else?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2008) in Movies ·
Kudos to the film, I absolutely loved it! It’s the perfect mindless watch if you just want to switch off your brain and have a laugh.

By the way, "that" bra was totally unexpected! 😂 🤣 🙏

LOL, that guy from Tokyo called me too, and even caught me at work!
The second I told him I was broke, he just hung up without saying a word... 😂
Btw, he predicted some stock would jump from $41 to $45 next week, just to prove they knew what they were doing. I checked next week and it dropped to $39... 🤣
