Motion sickness while driving in Health ·
Austin Baker86 said:So, can that center actually be used? unScrew that. Look, I was born pretty damn resilient. This might just be something reversible. 🤔

Exactly. No reason to stress. Whether I’m running errands with my guy or just hopping on a bus to head out, it doesn't matter. It's the motion sickness that actually gets to me. Traffic. The constant stop-and-go traffic from all these damn speed bumps and red lights is driving me crazy. To make matters worse, I’m stuck breathing in everyone else's exhaust fumes because I have to crack the window just to get a breath of "fresh" air.

You can easily strike this from the equation as well.

Whenever I feel nauseous, I tend to skip meals entirely. I have this nagging feeling that everything I eat is just going to come right back up, and quite frankly, dealing with that in a car is the last thing I want to deal with.
It won't cost me much to at least give these pretzel sticks a shot. 🤷

man--
my whole life has been like this

it’s getting so crazy that I literally have to drive my friend around in her own car because if she gets behind the wheel, I start feeling super sick and need some 😁

Man, my vestibular system is absolutely trashed

It’s like, either you just white-knuckle the dashboard and pray—which is what they told me back at the clinic, by the way—or you just deal with it. I guess sometimes it helps, but honestly, other times it doesn't really matter how much you're gripping the dash; it just depends on my mood and how crappy the roads are.

my sweet honey actually ordered them

man, what was he thinking? they’re so exhausting to wear, plus he doesn't even need glasses, but I guess he just grabbed them thinking they’d count as some kind of safety gear for work 🙂

maybe try taking some Magnesium, I mean, if you're low on it, those cramps can get pretty nasty

It’s not even like they're bugging you just because they wandered into the wrong subforum or whatever; it's more like they bother you simply because they exist, I guess.

I mean, someone should probably vouch for you when the need actually pops up. But honestly, looking at your situation, it feels like you don't exactly have the best reputation right now, so maybe just don't even sweat it...

yeah, totally

😁i basically only got that moderator gig just so I'd stop hitting on one of the mods🤣

neonstag5 said:Well, anyone starting a small business isn't automatically pulled into the VAT system... you have to clear $28 in annual revenue first, if I recall correctly. That’s when the tax man finally comes knocking...

Nah, that’s not quite right... we were actually set up for sales tax from day one.

The whole thing about the car—you just write off the mileage. You know, those local trips you log on the forms, calculate everything, and then just attach it all to your annual tax return.

And honestly, what does sales tax even have to do with this? It's not like you're collecting it, but at the same time, your clients can't really claim it as a deduction anyway... 😉

oh, and with any subscription at all, they throw in an extra Michelin tire tread gauge too

man, the DM is probably gonna lose it on me...

but apparently, last year they were handing out all kinds of random T-shirts 😉 but we didn't get anything, so who knows 😬
on my page it says HDM DNC, maybe try Googling that 🙂

I don't know what to tell you. Some people just walk through life expecting everything to be handed to them on a silver platter without ever putting in the work. It’s like watching someone try to drive a truck through a snowstorm in a sedan—you can see the disaster coming from a mile away, but they just keep pressing the gas anyway. You can't expect results if you aren't willing to deal with the grit. It's basic logic. kaže:
I try to stay away from pills as much as possible. I’m really not a fan of living my life one capsule at a time, if you know what I mean. It feels like the moment you start relying on a little plastic bottle sitting on your nightstand, you’ve already lost a bit of that natural edge. It’s a bit like how people rely too much on GPS these days—sure, it gets you to the destination, but eventually, you forget how to actually read a map or trust your own gut. I’d much rather focus on the actual fuel I’m putting in my body and just keeping things balanced naturally before I have to reach for the heavy hitters. Look, it’s a proven fact: every single medication out there has a downside. There isn't a pill in a pharmacy from New York to LA that doesn't come with some kind of catch. It’s like buying a high-performance truck—sure, it gets you where you need to go faster, but you’re paying for it in gas mileage and maintenance. Everything is a trade-off. You take something to fix one problem, and you're almost certainly introducing a new variable into the equation. It's just basic math. People tend to go overboard with painkillers way more often than they should. It’s becoming a real problem. Honestly, you can't always take someone's word for it when they claim they're in pain, because some folks will reach for an Advil or a Tylenol the second they feel a tiny itch on their eyelash. It’s a slippery slope. Not only are they essentially poisoning themselves, but they also end up building up a tolerance. Before you know it, those standard over-the-counter stuffs don't do a damn thing anymore, and they're stuck needing increasingly heavy-duty prescriptions just to get through the day.

Man. 😬
That’s just pure bullshit, if you ask me. 😉
Every medication comes with its own set of baggage. It’s like buying a used car—sure, it gets you from point A to point B, but you better be prepared for that mysterious rattle coming from under the hood or the way the AC cuts out when it hits ninety degrees. You don't just take a pill and call it a day; you enter into a bit of a negotiation with your own biology. Every single drug has its trade-offs, its little quirks, and those annoying side effects that feel like they were designed just to test your patience. It's all about weighing whether the benefit actually outweighs the headache. Side effects. It’s funny how people act like they’re immune to them until they actually hit. You can read all the fine print you want, stare at the warning labels until your eyes blur, but once that stuff is in your system, reality starts looking a little different. It’s like when you drive a car through a massive thunderstorm in the Midwest—you think you’ve got a handle on the road, then suddenly the visibility drops to zero and you realize you weren't nearly as prepared as you thought you were. Everything shifts. People always talk about the "intended use" like it’s a guarantee, but there's always that shadow side. It’s a bit like taking a shortcut through a construction zone in Chicago; sure, you might save ten minutes, but you’re probably going to end up with a dented bumper or a headache from the constant jackhammering. You take the risk, knowing full well there's a cost, but nobody likes being surprised when the bill comes due.It can get pretty dangerous in certain scenarios—take an overdose, for instance. That’s when things really go south.

Did I mention that my headache finally cleared up completely? 😉
I’m trying to dial back the pain, and honestly, popping some Advil helps a bit. But it doesn't exactly kill the sensation entirely. It just brings it down to a level where I can actually function without losing my mind.

man, I gotta disagree again 😉

using aspirin for a massive headache is kinda like trying to fix a deep gash with a tiny Band-Aid, you know? 😬

but hey, if it works for you, then whatever, it works. 👍

Ugh... honestly, just thinking about it gives me the creeps... my late grandpa was exactly like that...
One little cough and he’d be rushing straight to the doctor, demanding a whole handful of pills right then and there... and if they didn't work by morning? Boom, he'd be calling in all the specialists in the country...

I guess that's why I ended up being the total opposite😁

I mean, I seriously can't stand doctors or taking meds, it's just not my thing

placidjackal36 said:This survey is kind of a mess. It makes it seem like you don't need pills for chronic conditions at all, and then there’s this "as needed" option—which really should be renamed to "occasionally"—meaning you take it whenever there's an actual reason to.
There isn't even a choice for "infrequent" or "rarely" use.

Look, speaking from experience—I try to dodge medication as much as I possibly can, but when things get serious, they get serious. There's no joking around. If I have a toothache so bad I start seeing stars (yeah, that’s actually happened to me), I’ll grab some ibuprofen.
But if it's just a muscle ache? I'm not touching a pill; I'll just deal with it, massage it out, whatever.
Same goes for headaches. Usually, I won't take anything. But if a massive headache hits—which, thank God, doesn't happen often—then I'll go for aspirin.

man, but you seriously don't know what a *real* killer headache feels like if you're just trying to fix it with Advil 😉

Such an awesome topic😁, btw. I’d bet my life savings that half the people who don't bother washing up during their period probably have fake acrylic nails and some kind of glitter stuck in their teeth🙏

ugh, there's that old saying about being all show and no substance😁

I think our moms used to say that all the time

So, we actually had to switch up our mailing address because our stuff just wasn't showing up... honestly, we were starting to think maybe the mailman or some shady subtenant was swiping it or something... now I'm just sitting here wondering if it's even gonna show up at the new place either 🙂

Jessica Cox89 said:honestly, I'm kind of on the same page as you... I mean, the main reason I don't even bother showering the first day is just because everything down there feels so sore and sensitive and kinda swollen, you know? So I just sort of wipe myself down with wet wipes and crash in bed, and then by the second day, I'm totally fine and ready to go hiking if I have to.

Oh, come on, stop making excuses... it's not like you're scrubbing yourself with a wire brush or anything... just use lukewarm water and some gentle cleanser... heck, you could even skip the soap, just please, for the love of God, get clean!

Besides, let's be real, which one of us actually does anything productive anyway? Like, we can all pretty much afford to just lay around all day, right? 🙄
