Basically, when we were hanging out at Times Square, that lady mentioned we’d get something sent directly to our homes—kill me if I'm remembering this right—but we were supposed to receive some kind of documents by mail... so, has anyone gotten anything? brisknomad6, did you get yours? Do you even remember what it was we were waiting on?? 😁 😁 😁
We were supposed to get that confirmation sent home saying we accessed the samples at the Bank and Registry 🙂
mistycyclist14 said:Do you think it actually works? Honestly, I'm dealing with the same thing. Like, how do you even tackle PCOS while being on birth control? I managed to drop over 5% of my excess weight, but my period still isn't regular at all. I'm seriously worried about fertility issues.
😕
ugh, tell me about it 🙂
So, I tried doing the UN thing for like a month, and I was being soooo incredibly strict about staying under 1,000 calories... and honestly? I lost absolutely nothing 🙄 🙄
I mean, I never touched soda, I stayed away from mayo (well, except when I was traveling in Europe during the holidays, obviously), chocolate or sweets were maybe once a month, zero fried stuff, and fast food? Zero. Zilch. Nada...
And get this—for the longest time, I was eating less than 1,500 calories a day and I was actually gaining weight 🙄 🙄
But then, I finally just dealt with that junk in my ovaries and
a) my acne totally cleared up b) my period cramps are gone c) my cycle comes exactly every four weeks now d) and wow, look at that—I've dropped 10 pounds... I mean, sure, I still keep an eye on what I eat occasionally, but it's nowhere near as intense as how I used to obsess over everything
Nicholas Allen said:So, like, can dieting actually help someone dealing with weight gain caused by PCOS? Is there even a point? What’s honestly the best way to handle this kind of thing?
I mean, I guess the real trick is to get the PCOS under control first... once you tackle that, the weight will probably just start dropping off on its own.
So, I used to have this whole issue where my neck—right under my ear, actually—was just absolutely covered in these tiny, stubborn breakouts
But once they finally got that tumor removed, everything just kind of cleared up on its own... I mean, it took a few months for my hormones to finally settle back down, but yeah, it all went away
quiethound45 said:Streptococcus is basically everywhere... honestly, we all have it on us. It’s kind of like a commensal—we actually need it to function, but just like any other little bug, it loves to throw a massive tantrum if things get out of hand, you know? Like if you're super stressed or your immune system takes a hit, it’ll definitely try to make a scene.😬
So, like, can I just deport this guy living in my ear to some 😁 😁 ? I’m seriously dying to know what’s gonna happen tomorrow after almost a whole day of waiting, 🙄 🙄
jadesailor14 said:I mean, you can't just look at a conversation and decide it's an allergy, right? unless your doctor has some kind of crystal ball hidden in their desk or something😬
get a referral for an ENT and a referral for allergy testing... honestly, that clinic over at the local community health center should be totally fine for you
it’s funny, a coworker was actually venting to me last week about having super similar ear issues—turns out he's been battling strep for months now you know, those swabs they do for everything—eyes, nose, ears, throat—at the local urgent care
are you feeling okay otherwise? your sinuses? yeah, an ENT would definitely need to check that out tonsils? do you have issues there?
it’s all so connected, I guess... we don't even realize how much is going on until things actually start acting up
if it's actually from strep* 😬 then I’m already past the point of caring about the cost because this crap has been messing with me for a whole year🙄 🙄
* just to avoid any more confusion, she meant strep😉
So, okay, basically for like a year now, I’ve been dealing with this totally unbearable itching inside my ears 🙄
About 8 months back, I mentioned it to my doctor—I also told her I’d been sneezing like crazy for a few months at the time—and she just decided, without even actually looking in there, that it was all just allergies...
A couple of months went by and the sneezing finally stopped, but the ear thing? Yeah, that never went away...
And now, honestly, things have gotten pretty gross... the itching is constant, there's this yellow discharge happening all the time in huge amounts, and today—which is actually the second time in ten days—I woke up and found a literal puddle on my pillow from my ear leaking out...
I'm heading back to see that same doctor tomorrow—yeah, the one who brushed it off as an allergy—so I was wondering what else I should point out to her (just in case she tries to claim it's just allergies again)...
man $600 a month just to cover social security, pension funds, workers' comp, plus those self-employment taxes and prepayments... I think I haven't even forgotten everything yet 😁
So, I've had one of those donor cards for a few years now, I guess... 🙂 I mean, I feel like that pretty much says everything I wanted to say, you know? 🙂
Since I started seeing them about seven years ago, my prescription hasn't budged an inch, honestly
My doctor is over at the Mercy Hospital clinic—I actually have her cell number if you want, I can shoot it over to you in a DM... and the optician I use is over in the downtown district near the old plaza. She actually nailed my cylinder measurements perfectly two times in a row, so I was able to swap out my glasses right in the middle of the day without any weird side effects or anything😉
She also mentioned that there’s a much better chance the recipient will be someone from our neck of the woods, too. Plus, you can totally change your mind about donating at any time—you aren't even listed by your actual name, just some random number...
I'm totally with what chemical lady was saying while we were standing in line together 😁 😁
