Gynecology question in Health ·
So, I actually dealt with a Dermoid myself
Most of the time, these Dermoids are totally benign

My doctor mentioned there’s this tiny, tiny chance—like, super slim—that a Dermoid might just regress on its own. Mine kept getting bigger though, so I ended up having it removed back in the spring.

If you want me to dive into the nitty-gritty details, just let me know 🙂

Oh, and yeah, the CA-125 levels basically track those specific cells... mine was totally within the normal range

A colleague of mine had hers at 130, and everything turned out just fine

once I drop the next 3, I'll be back to check in again

Nice! Seriously though, don't let it get you down if things stall out for a bit, okay? Just keep at it.🙂
brightmarlin44 said:Does anyone know where I can find some actual club soda? Like, just plain water with CO2 in it for a seltzer maker? I remember back in the day you could get those CO2 canisters to use with a soda siphon to make your own bubbly water. Is there any way to buy pure carbonated water—just water and CO2—without all that extra mineral stuff added in?🙏

you can grab it in a small town outside of Philly 😁
some local guy runs a small bottling plant out there... it's actually pretty good 😳

Scarlet, you sent me a PM a while back... you should probably go check that out whenever you get a sec 🙂
How do I get to the racetrack? in Miscellaneous ·
amberorca192 said:so, basically you just hop on any bus heading toward the suburbs or maybe somewhere like Philadelphia and get off at the very first stop after the bridge. Most buses don't even pull over there by default, so you should probably just ask the driver to make a quick stop for you.

Philadelphia (just a regular local bus, not one of those express ones)
the outskirts are mostly just fields and grass...

Honestly, the smartest move? Just walk up to the driver and ask if they stop near the racetrack...

The real question though is, do you actually need the trails (I mean, I don't even know where the entrance to the trails is, to be honest) or are you just looking for the stables? It’s a massive hike from the main road to the stables, so if you want to save your legs, maybe look for a bus heading toward the residential area—though I'm totally lost on where that line even starts...

Look, the bus will drop you off right at the intersection of V. Holjevac and J. Antal, but man, that is a serious trek to get to the racetrack entrance...

Maybe just check their website? They have a phone number listed, so just give them a call and ask which way is the fastest or easiest to get to them. 🙂

Eric Robinson81, what's the big deal here?
I mean, the guy didn't get surgery until way later, so I'm guessing he was probably trying to fix things his own way for a while. Honestly, there's a pretty good chance one of those ways was that exercise you suggested... which clearly didn't work out great since the poor guy ended up needing surgery anyway 😉

So now you're gonna try and tell us he just didn't stretch quite right enough? 😁 😁

I mean, he was probably just practicing his routine on Eric Robinson81, which clearly didn't work out since we can all see that now... 🤣 🤣 🤣

darkorca54 said:Wait, why though? I’m actually super curious, tell me what happened.

So, if you're talking about paying cash, I'm guessing you're kind of short on funds right now...
and honestly, it's way too easy to end up missing a payment or not being able to cover the full amount on time...

if that happens, Denny's—no matter how long you've been a loyal customer or how regularly you pay—they basically just demand the entire remaining balance immediately. They don't give a damn about your history or anything.

It actually happened to us. Our bed, TV, and washing machine all broke down within two months, and then our local small business owner caught a nasty case of mononucleosis and had to be on strict bed rest for two months...
so we couldn't even pay HALF of an installment (and man, we'd been customers for ten years!), we were just scraping by with $500, $300, $233—whatever cash we could get our hands on—and they just sent the whole bill for everything we'd bought on credit straight to collections...

So yeah, I definitely wouldn't recommend Denny's 🙄

And don't even get me started on those interest rates.

If I were you, I’d probably steer clear of Denny's

Just some friendly advice, I guess
Grandpa was feeling pretty under the weather yesterday 😁

Should I head over to the clinic to grab his test results? 😉
So I basically sat there for four days doing absolutely nothing, just wasting my time, only for them to run some three-hour battery of tests on the fifth day and then just kick me out the door🤣

It’s like, what was even the point of keeping me fed and messing with me for four whole days if nobody actually gives a damn?

So, I was watching the interview and the first thing that just totally jumped out at me was like

My God, you guys, she is acting completely like a submissive person

The way she looks, her posture, even how she holds her hands... she acts like a brainwashed slave

It felt like during the whole interview she was being led by whoever was the most dominant person in the room right then, which was clearly that guy sitting on the reporter's right side...

Benjamin Murphy2 said:This is exactly what happens when someone refuses to see the whole picture. If I haven't even admitted to myself that there are things that aren't working right, then obviously nobody else is going to. But yeah, of course, that part doesn't show up on screen.

I'm honestly just stepping out of this pointless argument, so people can go ahead and talk trash about me if they want, I guess. It’s just totally senseless.

sorry for being misunderstood

what I was actually trying to get at is that there really are people who end up in the ER because they have no clue what's wrong with them, and in that split second when they decide to roll out of bed at 3 in the morning, they truly believe something is terribly wrong—even if, to you as the patient before you even arrive, it might seem kind of minor...
Benjamin Murphy2 said:It’s honestly pathetic when someone snaps at parents who rush their kid to the ER in the middle of the night with a 104 fever. But, I don't know, isn't it also kind of shameful when parents drag their kid in at 3 AM just because they're feeling a little nauseous? Like, the kid didn't even throw up! Or when someone who's been sick for four days shows up at 2 AM just because they "couldn't take it anymore"!? Or showing up to urgent care just "because it'll be too crowded in the morning"!? Urgent care is meant for emergencies—stuff that actually can't wait and might get way worse by tomorrow, not just whenever it's convenient for someone. Once people finally get that, maybe there won't be so much friction.

So, look, I actually saw this happen once where an ER doctor literally lost it on an 80-year-old man just because he showed up at 2 in the morning struggling to breathe...

And you know why he was there?

Because the doctor he saw two days before totally failed to tell him he had a cracked rib and that it would hurt to breathe for like a month... so he was having a hard time catching his breath...
Pretty interesting, right?

Or... there's this woman who collapses—probably from high blood pressure or heart palpitations, maybe—and she's got this sharp pain near her heart... so they rush her to the emergency department at Mount Sinai... she waits two and a half hours only to be told the "only" issue is elevated blood pressure... then they just send her home saying nothing is 🙄
Then, later at a regular checkup, it turns out she actually has an arrhythmia (like, a weird axis shift in her heart). You can live with it normally, but when it starts racing, it gets pretty scary if you don't realize it's not life-threatening...

Honestly, after everything, I just don't get it—how many more stories do we have to tell before you guys (the doctors and future doctors) admit that there are some total slackers in your ranks and that patients aren't always the ones at fault?
nimblestag31 said:Yeah, true, I mean... but if you're out here asking questions on a forum... man, my stomach hurts just thinking about it. Like, what am I even supposed to do? How much would this actually help?

All those claims that it's better to ask a forum than a doctor... honestly? There are a million reasons why people look for help and advice elsewhere. For some, this place is the spot, but for others, maybe it isn't... at least not right at the start.

Look, I once asked my primary care doctor why I was gaining weight even though I was sticking to like, 1500 calories...

And she basically told me: just eat less.

Seriously, watch out for advice from a DOCTOR!!!

You know where I actually figured out the diagnosis for my acne, scarring, and weight gain?
On the internet. After I went down a rabbit hole researching the effects of an ovarian dermoid cyst and whether it could cause my period to be late.

So yeah, that's ask your doctoraround here.

P. S. notice that I talked about that good doctor first. 😉
nimblestag31 said:I mean, I honestly feel like people would just get the answers they’re looking for exactly where they should be getting them. Or... I don't know, maybe you think folks dealing with serious illnesses are hanging out on an online forum because they didn't get decent medical care from their doctors? I guess that's a possibility, but who knows. 😕
Or what you’re trying to say is that some random internet forum is somehow a better medical facility than an actual hospital where doctors actually work? I mean, seriously... maybe? I don't know. Just seems kind of wild to think that, I guess. 🤣

Ugh... finally. 🙂

So, yeah... I'm back at it again, just speaking my truth and talking about my own mess...

So, I was just sitting there in the waiting room at the doctor's office... man, it was pure chaos. The doc was just absolutely running around like a headless chicken, you know? Like, he was constantly being called away, people kept popping into his exam room every two seconds... it was just non-stop. I guess he was having one of those days where everything hits the fan at once. Typical, right?

So, I just got back from the doctor, and man, he dropped a bit of a bombshell on me. He took one look at everything and told me I’ve gotta go under the knife. Apparently, it’s a laparoscopy... I mean, I guess it's not exactly the news you want to hear when you're just hoping for a quick fix, right? Just kind of sitting there like, "Wait, seriously?" But yeah, that's the situation. Surgery is on the table now.
So, when he saw how totally lost I was, he started walking me through the whole procedure. He was all like, "Don't worry, it's super routine," telling me I'd be back home in a week and probably ready to hit the office again in about a month. I guess he was trying to chill me out, maybe? It sounded pretty straightforward when he said it, though I'm still a little shaky about the whole thing.

Man, I had like a million more questions for them... I mean, he already had at least five patients lined up out there, and who knows, maybe even an entire surgery scheduled right after that.

So, I went ahead and said thanks, then popped over to the forum, where I ended up getting the rest of the info I actually needed from feralorca2 ( 😘 If you're actually reading this, thanks a million! Seriously, I really appreciate it... especially from all the ladies on here (you know who you are, you gorgeous things). 😘 So, I was just sitting here thinking... like, which other people have actually gone through this exact same surgery? I mean, seriously, does anyone else have that experience to share? I guess I'm just looking for some kind of perspective, maybe? Just wondering if I'm totally alone in this whole thing.
If I actually sat my doctor down and hit him with all those heavy-duty questions, he’d probably just lose his mind and kick me right out of the office. 😁I mean, if I’d shown up to surgery acting totally clueless and freaking out like my roommate was doing, the nurses probably would've kicked me right out of the room—okay, okay, they wouldn't have actually tossed me out because they were honestly amazing, but I definitely would've been a total pain in their necks... but since I actually knew exactly what the procedure involved, how the prep worked, and what the recovery looked like, I wasn't even scared, not even a little bit. 🙂

Yeah, honestly, it’s just great to have a forum like this where you can just hop on and ask whatever's on your mind, you know? Like, if you're stuck or just curious about something, you can just throw it out there and see what happens. It's pretty sweet. 🙂
