Just gonna jump in here for a second🙂
I’ve been looking at this Marin with a CroMo frame and fork, and honestly, I’m not smart enough to figure out what the actual pros and cons are for a build like that compared to an aluminum one🤔
Anthony Ross said:What’s actually the point of these shortened store hours? Like, what was the logic behind this decision...

The number of people needing to shop hasn't changed, but with shorter hours and strict capacity limits, crowds are inevitable. Honestly, it's worse than before. It feels like there's a line practically all day long. It's especially rough for anyone working a standard 9-to-5 who can't even get errands done during the week.

It makes zero sense. It's just some arbitrary box for the idiots in headquarters to check off so they can brag about "making progress." Who cares if it's completely nonsensical and doesn't actually work? Paperwork can handle whatever nonsense they want to write down, I guess.

It's just like those ridiculous checkpoints between small towns...🤣
they basically isolate the poor folks so they can't even make it to the next town over, while all the silver-spooned kids and trust fund babies just cruise around wherever they want. They probably spend their time mocking everyone on social media, posting selfies of themselves heading to Target for the fourth time in a single day just to grab some chips...

So, Allstate just sent me a freaking late notice claiming I haven't paid my liability insurance premium, even though it’s been seven months since I signed the contract...
Luckily, I pulled my transaction history from my bank account to prove I actually paid via card right there at their service desk.

What a bunch of absolute crooks.

The whole crisis happening in Iran right now is partially tied to the skyrocketing price of eggs...

Honestly, if I had the cash, I’d probably start by investing in a small-scale poultry farm first.

Rebecca Thompson19 said:Can someone please clear this up for me? If I’m looking to start a small business under the Small Business Act with an activity that doesn't actually require a degree from MIT, can I just use my own house as the base of operations?

The issue is that at the local county office, they're breathing down my neck about occupancy permits and insisting the space be officially zoned for commercial use.

I’m talking about making simple woodworking pieces here—nothing crazy. Basically, they want me to have a dedicated workspace, but it doesn't need to be some high-tech lab or anything. This lady at the desk was suggesting I just convert a garage or some similar structure into a commercial unit and then go through the whole nightmare of getting a permit for the rezoning, which sounds like a massive headache. But the first problem is I don't even own a garage or any kind of outbuilding to begin with... 😁

I see what you mean.
But since we're talking about woodworking, that falls right under the wood processing regulations.

I could be wrong, I guess, but honestly, those folks over at the local Chamber of Commerce would be the ones to give you the real rundown.

And look, she’s also gotta satisfy the requirements at MIT, even if she’s just staying in a family home, if you actually want that thing registered as a business...

State Farm has turned into a total joke ever since they were privatized... we actually had a huge court battle with them over collecting an installment... honestly, their rates aren't even competitive anymore, and they're constantly stuck in court fighting Americans, just like they do with that bottom-tier outfit GEICO

For example, State Farm's quote for AT&T this year was $457, while at Erg it was $280 🙏
It’s tough—honestly, almost impossible, at least from what I've seen firsthand—but without some serious backing, they wouldn't get an inch, no matter how much drive they have or how brilliant the idea is.

Keith Smith39 said:Diet definitely plays a role here. If you're loading up on sugars and heavy carbs, it's going to wreck your deep sleep cycles. On the flip side, a keto-style diet—you know, high fat and protein—actually does wonders for getting that deep sleep.

Wait, isn't it actually the other way around regarding meat versus carbs?

Meat—or just any high-protein food, really—tends to keep you wired and alert, so I wouldn't recommend eating it late at night unless it's something like turkey, which has that tryptophan amino acid that actually helps you drift off...
The US Department of Health and Human Services is really going all out to provide training and education for migrants 🙂
wanderingbison9 said:I’ve been scrolling through these threads, and honestly, I can't believe some of the nonsense being debated here. People are talking about a camp for either 5,000 or 10,000 people, and then worrying about traffic jams in San Bernardino, all while suggesting there will be a direct train from Shida straight into the center of the site 🤷... As far as I'm aware, I haven't heard anyone mention a capacity of 10,000 for the San Bernardino camp; the number 5,000 seems to be the one everyone keeps bringing up. But even if it really is 10,000, so what? It isn't an infinite number; it's just a built-in safety margin. It was made quite clear when Ostojic spoke that this would be the final camp established in America... Of course, there will always be those who jump straight to conspiracy theories and claim something is being hidden from us

You’re totally out of the loop
Local politicians are constantly bringing up a 10,000-person camp, and if you actually bothered to check the location on Google maps, you'd see it 😵

I don't really get what you're asking?
Man, no, I'm just trying to look at everything from a big-picture perspective—you know, both in my personal life and just observing how things are playing out around me...
Here’s how their math works, I guess
Mayor on day one: We’re building a processing center for 2,000 immigrants.
Mayor on day two: We’re building a processing center for 5,000 immigrants.
Mayor on day three: We’re building a processing center for anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 immigrants.

And now that those massive aid convoys from Qatar and Dubai are actually rolling in, everyone’s losing their minds—acting like it’s some huge catastrophe. But, of course, it’s always the same old story... just more people in the wrong places at the wrong times, right?
northerncyclist2 said:Well, maybe because people actually need help? You know, checking them over if someone’s got a serious illness, a broken bone, or if a pregnant woman starts going into labor... isn't it just more humane to provide some temporary relief and ease their struggle? I guess Greeks, Mexicans, and Mexicans don't really bother with stuff like that... so hopefully you don't mind that we're a bit more compassionate than they are?

In Pittsburgh, they're building a transit center, not a reception center.

I mean, 10,000 is barely enough to cover one day's intake, processing, and getting everyone sent on their way so a new group can be handled the very next day. And honestly, it's probably better to have extra capacity so they can deal with those numbers when they fluctuate, plus it makes things easier for the crews handling cleaning and disinfection and all that.

The local politicians call it a winter reception center, but once it turns into a transit hub, we'll all be back here arguing in a few days once the Canadians shut down the border entirely.😁

P.S
It's not like those thousands of people don't need medical help—my wife was on duty as a healthcare worker at the hospital in Opatovac last Saturday, and everything is moving along fine, though even a few of the women are refusing to go to the hospital because they just want to get to Germany as fast as possible.😉
Then why on earth are they currently renovating a processing center in Pittsburgh meant for 10,000 people if their whole plan is just to shuttle them right back out immediately?
Peter Reed70 said:So I'm scrolling through some local news in St. Louis and just read that the protest against that refugee camp totally flopped—apparently only about a hundred people showed up.

Pittsburgh has lost 3,600 people in just one year, and it feels like more are leaving every single day...
The handful of poor souls actually left have basically undergone a lobotomy, especially while the mayor is busy blowing $25 million on swimming pools and $4 million on roundabouts—all funded by loans that the citizens themselves end up paying back...
And now he’s gone and dragged in this asylum center that’s supposed to take 5,000 people initially, though I bet he'll be claiming it's 10,000 tomorrow. 😁
They’re shipping in 100 residential containers and already they're begging to expand capacity...

Everyone just sits there taking it with their heads bowed because that's just how people think here, and anyone who isn't swallowing this nonsense has either already packed their bags or is about to.

Then you have those poor wretches whose job is cleaning up after $833 in what the locals are already calling "Small Syria"—some people in town are actually acting like this is a good thing, but if you ask me, it's a total disaster. Instead of attracting entrepreneurs and actual jobs, the biggest achievement these politicians can manage is turning a small city into an immigrant hub.
But honestly, even when you have total freedom of movement and these massive, open territories, history shows they don't exactly last forever...
Mark Harris66 said:And what about this—prostitution and violence in German refugee camps?

I guess the media is finally starting to get a bit more objective and actually stick to the facts, mostly because they're finally feeling the heat and realizing they can't ignore the reality on the ground anymore.
Seriously, man, grab a phone, but honestly? Looking at how many people are out there using selfie sticks, I guess it’s becoming an absolute necessity when you head out on those kinds of treks...
