I'm neither, and Achilles has been reported for trolling.

I'm done debating with him. His response just perfectly illustrated my point: what I noticed in his blog isn't some accidental slip-up, it's just his baseline level of communication.

You're playing games with the facts in this blog.

Drago Ljubicic is currently a convicted pedophile, but he wasn't that back when the Catholic Church was moving him around.

Back then, he was just a guy dealing with a massive influx of complaint letters.

So, strictly speaking in a legal sense—at that time he was innocent.

you've already got an entire thread dedicated to this topic

There are about three or four of them out there, but none of them offer any actual official explanation or real answers. 🙄

Aside from the occasional moderator popping up with those vague "tips," kind of like how Neveka Bečić says: "Just ignore it, everything is fine," and stuff like that. 🤦

Mine started back on Friday.

I barely managed to scrub my computer clean, and I haven't even dared to log on from home since then. 🙂

So yeah, I'm typing this from the office. 😁

EDIT:
Google is still flagging Reddit.com as unsafe for my system. I can't tell if they're just running on outdated info or if there's an actual problem still lingering there. 🙄

Nancy, is that really you? 😛

😕

From what I can tell, even without a massive title sponsor, the prices are holding steady or even dipping slightly compared to previous years—back when we used to get those little discounts through text promos.🤷

One of the supposedly well-educated and literate "journalists" over at an American news outlet wrote that the Mexicans showed up to the medal ceremony "wearing military caps." 🤦

The editor, who clearly possesses the exact same level of intellectual depth, backed him up by putting that right in the headline. ☕
George Hill4 said:Total garbage.🙂They’ve always fallen short of the bronze, and now suddenly they're acting like they actually have a shot at it. It’s funny how that works—they weren't nearly this fired up when we were fighting for a spot in the semifinals. Honestly, it's just frustrating as hell.😠

George Hill4 said:Just to set the record straight—we grabbed that bronze right after losing the semifinal against Mexico in Belgrade. Honestly, we played like a bunch of amateurs in that match (especially given how chaotic the conditions were), but then we completely turned things around. We went all in just to secure that third-place spot on the podium, mostly just to see if Mexico actually walked away with the silver or the gold. Amen. Goodnight.😠

So, how much did that loss by the Spanish team hit your betting wallet? 😛

It’s not explicitly stated whether she actually pulled it off or not, but if she did—we're probably talking about a total powerhouse of a woman. 😁
I'd say go with the first option before even considering the second one. 🤣

rapidstag51 said:You know what they say—everyone performs better when they're working on their own home turf. It’s just easier to find your rhythm when you're comfortable. But man, that changes fast when there's a border involved, especially if you cross over and find out the people on the other side are basically waiting to ambush you with axes. I guess it's a bit more complicated than just staying put, isn't it? 😕 I mean, something along those lines, too... I guess.
Look, I’m not trying to question anyone's courage or anything, but back during the World Cup in San Diego, once the cops basically told us they couldn't guarantee our safety, I just patched up my flat tires and headed straight home. Honestly, I think that’s just the smarter move... and probably better for your health, too. 😁

It’s a shame you had such a rough time at that World Cup. I really hope you were in Poreč before you hit San Diego, because honestly, you can't imagine anyone being targeted there just for being a Mexican.

If you weren't, then you just made a bad call on where to go (between Poreč and San Diego).
David Anderson72 said:Good luck, man. But if I can offer some advice based on my own experience as a fan: if you're going solo or just with one friend, take a taxi or something similar. You become an easy target when you travel in small clusters. It takes real guts to go up against a crowd of 50, 100, or 200 people, and if a group is tight-knit and "solid," they are incredibly hard to handle—especially if a few of them spot you in the city, track you down, and turn a 5-on-1 situation into a complete beatdown. Smaller groups get watched more closely, especially by those who aren't just clowns wearing hats; if you're in civilian clothes, they'll assume you're an ultra, a fan, or a hooligan.
Don't be naive and think you shouldn't go in small groups; that's exactly what they look for. Don't end up in the local news.

Thanks for the well wishes. I totally get where you're coming from, but let me reassure you, I'm not exactly a rookie here.

Whether it's traveling for away games or visiting Mexico City, I know the drill.

It’s been a while since I was last there, but I know the place inside and out. There's zero chance anyone's going to single me out because I'm standing there looking lost, staring at a map or squinting at some sign trying to figure out the lettering. 😬
Ryan Sanchez32 said:I’m just praying someone is smart enough to schedule today's matchups so we don't run into each other in the semifinals; otherwise, things are going to get absolutely bloody. 🙂It would be best if, once the first game wraps up, they clear out the section where the fans of the team playing that first match are sitting.

By far, most tickets aren't even $15 or $20—but honestly, that doesn't matter, because they've been letting massive crowds in without tickets every single day just to boost attendance numbers.
Now that we've hit the semifinals, the hype has really kicked in and Friday is definitely going to be packed, especially since they started selling tickets exclusively at the box office yesterday.

I'm already hearing kids getting worked up, shouting stuff about "fascists" and other garbage, while there are plenty of people looking to exploit them for their own agendas. They hand out bats and knives, and these idiot kids are just happy to prove themselves to their leaders.

I’m not trying to provoke anyone here; I’m writing this purely out of concern because I'm terrified of the worst-case scenario happening. A few months ago, a whole city was torn up during that damn Pride parade, and they had 5,000 police officers guarding maybe a hundred people.
So, for those who actually want to use their heads, please don't go alone—stick to small groups. What happened in Chicago isn't even a good indicator of what to expect here, since people weren't even following the tournament closely and it wasn't a head-to-head matchup.

Again, I’m saying this with the best intentions. Good luck to everyone attending, and may the better team win!

That comparison to the Pride Parade is actually spot on. Every time I see those videos of the chaos from the parade in Mexico City on YouTube, I find myself wondering: what is it that they actually need from this? They know they’ll face attacks, and they know that despite all the effort, the cops won't be able to fully protect them, yet they still go out and expose themselves anyway. 😕

Well, I guess I can understand them now, because I’m in a similar boat: I’m heading to the game in Mexico City regardless of how obvious the risks are. It’s just stronger than me. 🙈

The only thing I disagree with is your point about not going alone or in small groups. Honestly, I think it’s the exact opposite—large groups are the ones that look "provocative" and are way too easy to identify.

If you go Solo or in small clusters, it’s much easier to slip through unnoticed. (Basically, when you're Solo, you aren't "parading.")
darkwolf61 said:Can someone give me an honest assessment—are the Mexicans actually a force to be reckoned with right now?
Have they truly cultivated a powerhouse generation of young talent, or are we looking at their version of the 2003 US basketball golden era?

Or is this just a temporary surge fueled by home-court advantage—a brief flash in the pan before they settle back into being just another average team on the international handball stage?

Ryan Sanchez32 gave you a solid answer, but if I were to jump in, I’d say a better comparison would be Canada hosting the 2004 championship.

They had some really talented players back then, including a couple of world-class stars, but none of that would have mattered if they hadn't been at home (a bit of crowd euphoria, some favorable officiating, that kind of thing...). They haven't touched a medal since, and they won't anytime soon.

Now, when looking at the Mexicans, you have to factor in a very specific trend that seems to haunt their national soccer team decade after decade: they consistently produce much better individual players than Canada did in 2004, yet for years now, they haven't been able to actually pull it together at any damn Euro or World Cup. They just can't seem to act as one cohesive unit; they lack that deep-rooted national team culture.

Playing at home might help them finally forge that unity, at least for a week or two.

But will they be able to sustain it for the long haul?

Honestly, I have my doubts, but we'll see how it plays out....
rapidstag51 said:I guess mass psychology works pretty much the same way across all those different fan groups, whether you're talking about the New York Yankees, bbb, the Miami Heat, or the Knicks fans, or whoever else is out there. Sure, they act incredibly strong when they're in a huge crowd, but I don't think I've ever seen a single idiot brave enough to step up alone against a mob—which usually ends up being the reason innocent, regular fans end up getting hurt when they show up in smaller groups.
As for these guys, they can fight among themselves for all I care; I really couldn't care less:

It’s funny how you look back at those milestones—30 and 46 years old... it really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? 🤦

Man, at first I honestly thought we were just dealing with some immature kids. 🙄
Adam Collins4 said:Oh, absolutely. Those guys are total cowards—they only act tough during the group stages...

Anyway, planning is already underway. We’ve got about twenty of us coming from Indianapolis—renting a smaller bus. Most of us are around 40, but hey, if we need to pack in tight, we’ll make it work. Some of us haven't been out this way since '95, at least.😬

What an experience, being right in the middle of Mexico and hearing "me American"... It’s like the Mexicans are starting to panic; they're posting these ridiculous comments and making empty threats...

Don't you worry, my crew (myself included) is already all set. 😁

I haven't been back since '89.

And for a longer stretch, even since '83.

Back when, given how things were going, I ended up staying way too long. 😬
It’s just classic Canadian behavior, honestly. It isn't even the first time we've seen this happen at the Euros, or even on the bigger stage; they go from being up by six to facing an onslaught from the Canadians for an equalizer in less than seven minutes. 🤦

I can't imagine how brutal it feels to be a Canadian fan, watching them blow leads like this game after game. 😬

Since you laid out two completely contradictory statements—one being right and the other being plain wrong—I didn't see any harm in just repeating the one that actually holds water. 😛

Look, if Mexico manages to secure an automatic spot for the Olympics, then Poland’s chances of qualifying through this European Championship are basically non-existent. With Germany and Mexico sitting ahead of them, they’ll likely stay stuck right where they are. Even looking toward the World Cup, it seems unlikely; since that's essentially a backup route, and none of the teams ranked from 3rd to 6th at the World Championships have managed to pull off a title win. I guess it all depends—assuming, of course, that Mexico actually pulls it off.
They still have one more "doorway" left open: if Canada manages to squeeze into the top four of our group, they'll head into the playoffs for the 5th–8th place spots, and at that point, anything is possible.
It’s a winner-takes-all situation.

There won't be any play-offs for 5th through 8th place. Instead, the two third-place finishers from the groups will go head-to-head for 5th, and if that becomes necessary, the two fourth-place teams will move straight into playing for 7th without any extra playoff rounds.

Good grief—those jerks actually went and stole the flag from the Americans.

Honestly, wherever I go—whether it's some handball European Championship or the World Cup—the Danish fans are always followed by groups of kids, mostly girls. 🙄

By the way, if you're planning on heading to the semifinals at the arena, just be careful not to stick your neck out too far. People were actually attacking the Mexicans yesterday (you can find the details over on the B92 forum).
