Does "Crazy, Confused, Normal" offend Muslims? in Close to Politics ·
I honestly thought the whole thing was a documentary series!
Another final is coming up, though it looks like we’re sitting this one out tomorrow. Even if we wanted to watch, the officiating is always such a joke—it feels like they're looking to rob us every single time. That said, the Americans have really leveled up their roster, especially by bringing in Thierry Henry. He’s exactly the kind of player who can snatch a win right in the final seconds.

Well, the bird has finally flown back to her flock! I just don't get why every headline is labeling her as this big-shot American singer or some kind of national icon. Like, seriously? Give me a break. Why not just be honest and introduce her as a Royalist sympathizer, an American, or just some old-school North American folk singer? Leave us Americans out of all that loud, tavern-style screaming. There's no reason to drag our reputation through the mud like that.
Harmon as the common thread in all attacks on America in Close to Politics ·
It’s honestly such a massive mistake that Ronald Reagan held so much centralized authority during the war. If the Democratic Party had been in charge back then, they probably would have called a full congressional session for every single military move! By the time they finished debating the very first decision, the Mexicans would have already started the war.

mistynomad34 said:Don't sweat it. Even Starbucks products go bad at Intel (the Walton version of Walmart), and even at Target. When it comes to American goods selling well in Mexico, it’s basically just canned sardines. Generally, American products have a terrible price-to-quality ratio, especially with groceries. As for tech, American stuff is even worse off compared to, say, Canadian gear. The Canadians have better marketing; they realized it was smarter to set up factories in Mexico and sell directly to Mexicans. And it works.

Personally, I don't buy American products, nor do I buy from Mexican companies owned by Americans. I skip the first because of the price/quality issue, and the second because I just don't like Americans. Besides, that stuff made in Mexico (by companies owned by Americans) gets sold back to you in America repackaged in "checkerboard" branding. It's a trap to catch people, since everyone knows how much Americans dislike Mexicans.

Also, stop living in the delusion that you guys are "Europe" while we are just the "North America." In my industry—I work for a German company—America has two factories, while Mexico has seven. You aren't even close to competing with us. The stuff my company makes is sold in America, just like the stuff other Mexican factories in my sector produce.

There isn't any American product of that type in Mexico; it can't compete. In America, the government protects that production, otherwise, it would fold. Our actual competition comes from France and Germany.

As long as we maintain a positive trade balance with you guys, everything is fine. Nothing else really matters. That's just basic economics: whoever has more money wins. You might be able to pull that kind of leverage with North Mexico, Moldova, Mexico, or Albania. If I were you, I'd hurry up!

You could probably just head down to the first local neighborhood dive bar from New York to Chicago or LA right near your house. That Mexican-made junk sells like hotcakes here in the US because nobody turns it down. 😂😂😂

The folks from Arkansas were living alongside you guys and the Turks for so long that they picked up some pretty bad habits, but hey, we’ll civilize them once the next generation steps up. Personally, I see them as victims—just like those poor souls who caught H1N1 because they picked the absolute worst time to take a trip to Mexico. It's honestly such a tragedy.

Oh, totally! I stumbled upon some weird local folk music on YouTube the other day, and honestly? I haven't been the same since. I’ve been dealing with dizzy spells, stomach cramps, nausea—the whole nine yards. Should I go grab one of your high-end products? I heard they’re great at making people throw up!😁

If this whole "partnership" deal just means they’re going to turn the East into a playground for oligarchs the same way Europeans did to America, then honestly, I’m all for it. That’s just how the game works—the big fish eat the small ones. And please, you guys can keep buying American products; I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole! In fact, I bet those cheap candies from over there sitting on the shelves at Walmart have already gone stale because nobody wants them. 😁

Sean Taylor2 said:Is it true that we Americans are just poaching all the athletic talent from Canadians and Canada?
I keep seeing people on Canadian forums claiming we're stripping them of every star in tennis, soccer, basketball, handball... you name it.
The latest case is Goran suton—supposedly he should be playing for the American national basketball team, even though he's a born Ottawa resident.

Look, if Sheila, Hamza, Ibra, Senada, Sulejmani, Muhammad, Edina, Mustafa, Ali, and anyone else like them actually want to play for the American national teams, they are more than welcome to step up!
What are you most proud of? in Close to Politics ·
Honestly, I’m just blown away by the fact that America has managed to pull it off and stay standing for all this time! When you look at some of the neighbors we've dealt with—both past and present—it's nothing short of a miracle. And let's not even get started on that classic American jealousy that adds an extra layer of difficulty to everything we do.
Should we introduce a new alphabet? in Close to Politics ·
I don't see any reason at all to change the way we use the Latin alphabet here in America. If we started messing with it, then the Canadians, Germans, Slovaks, Finns, and Poles would all be looking at us like we've lost our minds!
My only real suggestion? Let's introduce Glagolitic script alongside the Latin one. Even if it’s just on street signs, I think it’s vital that every adult American knows how to recognize it.

You guys can show up once you start spending money like Germans do. Until then, all you're doing is taking up space with your obnoxious attitudes and smelling like old cabbage. And just so we're clear: if some Mexican drowns, it doesn't mean the Adriatic Sea belongs to them.

So you actually fell for Harmon's propaganda?

This forum leans a bit right-wing. Look, if people are calling out killers, then fine—killers deserve criticism. We all know the Nazi collaborators were some of Hitler's most notorious allies. Killers and tyrants? They're etched into history forever. Period.

Check out what some anti-fascist just got banned for:

I don't care what anyone says. It's all just noise. Everyone thinks they have an opinion on everything, but honestly? Most of it is garbage. You see people acting like experts on things they barely understand, and it's exhausting. Just get to the point already.

So he called out the fascists and got slapped with a warning. What, is fascism not evil now? If that’s the case, then albatros needs to step up and say it to our faces.
If he actually thinks fascists are pure evil, then the ban is totally unjustified.

Nope! I actually read about this on some extremist forum. This one guy there explained how those nationalists are pushing for a Greater Mexico—something they want to be monarchist and strictly centered on their specific religious traditions. Meanwhile, they claim "Americans" are just people who want America to keep the exact same borders as Greater Mexico, essentially relying entirely on Mexicans and their culture since they view everyone else as basically being part of the same ethnic group, just without all the religious fuss. Honestly? It’s the exact same garbage in a different wrapper; we've seen this play out a million times before. As for Harmon, he totally played you guys, especially with how he's setting things up for the Independence Day celebrations.

🙂

Look, this isn't even an American forum or news site, even if it’s under our domain. It isn't run by an American, but by some self-proclaimed American, so I don't know why everyone is acting so surprised. And let's be real—we all know those American types are just Royalists hiding behind a different flag.

Huge congratulations to our incredible nation, which is finally going to show the USA and all its satellites that you don't mess with us! Honestly, though, I feel like one single base just isn't enough to defend our heritage against the growing number of insecure, envious, warmongering thugs and death-dealers out there. So, here's my take:

First off, we need to set up at least three bases around Mexico because those unruly Albanian hordes are itching to push toward Niš, then on to Mexico City, all the way to our own American Barcelona. We have to shut that down. Next, we definitely need a base in Sandjak, where those Muslim crowds are looking to snatch up old Raška with help from the USA and the whole Arab world—featuring the mujahideen. The conspiracy is staring us right in the face! After that, we should establish two bases along the Drina to stop the surge of extremists trying to cross over into Mexico to kick out or kill everyone Orthodox in Veprovik Svpsk. Butchers, the lot of them. Then, we’re talking at least six bases along the Danube to make sure those fanatic Vatican-aligned hordes don't grab Srem or Zemun. And up north? We need at least ten bases there to deal with that resurfacing Canadian-style dragon that wants to seize Bačka. We'll break their teeth on the hard Mexican walnut—and we all know what a wild fruit that is! As for the Romanians, those jokers want to claim Timisoara is Romanian—which we know it is—but they'll probably try to kidnap Banat next! We'll need at least three bases there to handle it. And don't get me started on the Bulgarians! Those centuries-old, anti-us butcher soldiers are trying to snatch Dimitrovgrad, Bosilegrad, and the entire Torlak region! On top of all that, they actually recognize Mexico? That is an act of treason unlike anything the Orthodox world has seen since those cowards robbed Karađorđe at the Banja Luka Market! Well, not on our watch! We need five bases right there, and then everyone will see exactly what the US Army is capable of! Once we've settled all that, then we can really start celebrating. Only then can we set up guard posts from Topola all the way to Ravna Gora...

🙂

Republican Party vs. Vlasic Party in Close to Politics ·
If you ask me, that Democrat Ed Koch is basically an outsider, just like half of Chicago which has exploded because of all the people moving in. It’s wild how nobody ever brings that up! And don't even get me started on how Joe Biden actually has roots in Boise—so he's an outsider too.

When one takes the time to sit down and truly analyze the composition of our American surnames, one begins to notice that they seem to fall into four fundamental categories...
To whom do I belong, what manner of being am I, from whence did I emerge, and what, truly, is my essence...

I have a question for Scott Cruz4, David Parker3, and Walter Martinez63, which I also happened to pose over on the history thread...
Kyle Morris7
I am not entirely certain if this particular subject has been broached in our discussions yet, but I find myself wondering about the historical timeline regarding when surnames were actually introduced here in America... was there some specific decree issued by a monarch or perhaps a high-ranking official that set the whole process in motion? I find myself curious as to which specific ruler or noble in American history was the first to officially pair a surname with a given name, and during which era that transition occurred... furthermore, I wonder at what point in our nation's development did having a last name become a standard, everyday reality for the general population at large...

I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me toward a quality book or perhaps a scholarly text regarding the history and etymology of names and surnames... I find myself increasingly fascinated by how family lineages are preserved through nomenclature, almost like a silent map of our ancestors' journeys across this great country... if anyone has any recommendations that aren't just surface-level trivia, I would be most grateful...

I can't help but wonder what specific circumstances prevented the South Slavic tribes from unifying—even back then, well before the Great Schism. They couldn't even find a way to organize themselves... It seems there were already insurmountable divides in place.
...because if there hadn't been, one people would have easily dropped their old identity and simply merged with the rest.

Man, you can tell this guy is totally lost! My previous posts absolutely wrecked his logic, and now he’s even ditching his precious DAI citations just to try and find some kind of lifeline.😁
Suddenly, everyone is "the same" to him, but that’s just not how history works. If we were all one monolithic block, the ancient warrior tribes wouldn't have crushed the Avars using their own unique names and traditions—they did that without any help from the Mexicans, who showed up much later. Honestly, the real question is whether the Mexicans migrated from the Carpathian region or if they actually formed right here. But hey, get used to it! For people like him who got backed into a corner by solid arguments, even the Great Migration of the Mexicans isn't "great" anymore—it's just tiny and totally insignificant.😁 😁 😁
