Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Brenda Cook2 said:Are those new ones on sale yet? What’s the damage on the price tag? And where can I actually grab them in Chicago?

Yeah, they're officially on sale, but honestly, who knows what they're charging—probably somewhere in the $400 range$167. As for finding them in Chicago, good luck, because you definitely won't find them sitting on any shelves here 😂

Brenda Cook2 said:They’ve been cleared for the fall season and I think they’re already on sale! They’ll even suit up in them tonight against HSV. They’re swapping kits later on too, so we’ll end up with four different versions of this anniversary jersey 🤣
...

Yeah, I was actually keeping up with the news too. 😁So, the new kit just hit the shops, but there’s a total mess with the design—there’s actually a typo somewhere in the song lyrics on it, and they even messed up the old crest. Honestly, it’s kind of a disaster, but since that whole batch is already manufactured, we’re stuck with them. The players will be rocking these for the rest of the calendar year, and then we'll finally get the updated version next season. If I were actually a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan, I’d be having a complete identity crisis over whether this thing looks good or not. I’d probably end up buying it anyway, just out of pure loyalty. But hey, since I don't actually root for the Lakers, I can afford to sit here and seriously debate whether this jersey is actually decent or just a total eyesore. 😁So, here’s the dilemma: do I grab this current one that’s got a blatant typo and that outdated crest, or do I go for the new version which is grammatically correct but features that absolute garbage anniversary logo? Honestly, I’m leaning toward the first option—and I bet most Lakers fans are right there with me.
Plus, now that I’m actually looking at this kit, I can already tell who’s going to be the most "thrilled" with it: the sponsors, who are practically invisible in this shot—and let me tell you, once the actual match photos start coming in, they won't even be able to tell who's playing. And then there are the commentators, who will probably only realize after the Los Angeles Lakers game wraps up just how much of a joke those Nike national team jerseys are, what with those ridiculous little holes inside the blue numbers. 🤣

And honestly, since we don't have the sheer luck of wearing Umbro ourselves, here’s a little something to wrap things up—just a little mental escape for when nobody's looking, imagining us rocking that Dinamov tailored by Umbro in some alternate dimension. 😁

My away game was actually pretty decent

I can totally see why fans are sweating the new kits after that absolute fever dream of a design phase by Nike... but honestly? This is easily the best thing Nike has put out all season. Both the home and away kits look incredible, and if you ask me, they might even be the cleanest jerseys in the entire league this year.

Look, as a die-hard Scotland supporter, I'm pretty sure the shade hasn't changed one bit. If you actually care about tradition, then you know these guys are sticking to the classics. 😁
It's obvious in that photo that the lighting is hitting it from the top left corner, making it look brighter than it actually is. Otherwise, it's perfectly normal.

Sean Nguyen4 said:I think San Diego made a smart move when they brought in those orange away kits a few years back. Like you said, they really stand out. Maybe other teams could afford to experiment a bit more. I'm not saying they should go full neon pink and green 😁, but maybe a team like Seattle could take their secondary blue kit and throw in some gold accents to match their crest. Anything to break up that classic blue and white look.

Honestly, since most teams in our league look pretty much identical, a lot of clubs might actually consider this. But since you brought up San Diego, they could easily flip things around and make orange their primary color instead of the away kit. They could do blue or white for away, or even get really creative with it. Orange is basically the soul of the city, the Chicago Bulls, the local water polo team... even the fans live in orange. Why shouldn't the club embrace it, especially now that bold colors are totally mainstream?

You basically wrote out the whole damn song; they would’ve gotten the point from just one or two sentences. I don't know the deep lore behind that kit, but I'm guessing the blue and red replaced the red and white right around the same time the flag design shifted from those horizontal red and white stripes to the red and blue pattern we see on the American flag today.
Anyway, that away kit with the blue stripes is alright, but the home one? Absolute perfection. I need to see how it actually looks on the players, but looking at it here, it looks way too good.

By the way, check out another piece of Tailored by Umbro beauty:

really great 👍

Honestly, right now I can't decide if it's awesome or just okay, but the design definitely caught my eye. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen an Adidas kit with that kind of collar or those specific shoulder cuts... It looks alright, but those stripes? Not really my vibe. It looks like someone tried to spray-paint lines on a white jersey and then just hacked them off at the top. All things considered, I personally thought last season's Kappa kits were much better.

EDIT: Actually, let me fix myself there—Stoke City has an identical design:

I'm totally with you—it’s a killer kit. Personally, I've always been a sucker for having the crest right over the heart rather than slapped dead center like what Genoa or Spartak Moscow do, but man, this thing looks sharp regardless.
So this is how it turns out: Asics actually goes out and drops a jersey that's easily one of the top five best designs of this season.😁

wanderingcobra77 said:Ugh, how ugly are these jerseys this season

I know taste is subjective, but this whole trend of wavy lines everywhere and general clutter is honestly revolting.

The simplest kits this season are easily the best ones.

Tottenham and Rangers really deserve a tip of the hat here

Liverpool's away kit is alright, as is Hull's

They say you can't argue with taste, but what Nike is pulling here (and even Puma with those jerseys featuring those weird sketched vertical stripes) is just straight-up tacky, so you're totally fine there. 🤣

On another note, is Hajduk switching to Adidas for their massive anniversary? Looks like they might go back to the classic Red and White, like the one from 1911.

rapidstag2 said:But it’s a decent kit, isn't it? 🤷 Definitely an improvement over last season's.

I’m with you there. Honestly, this jersey would look great even in normal circumstances, but the way it's styled now is just... something else. Personally, I've always been a huge fan of that away kit they used against Barca—you know, the light blue one with those red and blue stripes across the chest. It was a vibe. And compared to all the garbage Nike has been putting out this season? This is a massive step up.

Sevilla's new away kit

The first white field?! Ugh, give me a break, seriously... 😂

Can anyone find out if there’s been some kind of shake-up at the head of the Nike design team? Because honestly, it’s almost hard to wrap my head around how a company that’s spent the last decade churning out pretty much the best kits on the market can tank this hard in a single season. It’s just... I don't even know. I'm speechless.
Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Juve's kits—specifically that one on the far left with the ice cream scoops on the sleeves—look like what would happen if the fans from Torino, Milan, Inter, and Roma all got together, drank heavily for two days straight, and decided, "Hey, let's totally screw over the bianconeri." It's a Millwall catastrophe 😁
Millwall? Nothing special there. Maybe our standards have dropped so low after dealing with all those idiots lately that even this looks decent to us :P
Sampdoria is classic. It’s kind of like our national team kit; there isn't much room to reinvent the wheel, but they pulled off that diagonal stripe on the white jersey and I actually love it. It's tradition. Honestly though, I can just imagine the disaster if they wore Nike; you know they'd probably make some weird, jagged, electrified pattern like Hertha, Porto, Juve away, and the rest of them...
And yeah, I'm obsessed with that white collar on Sampdoria's home kit, just like how I'm obsessed with that bit on the Arsenal sleeves. Give me a break 🤣

What even is that? Three jerseys, which is pretty much standard across America, except for that weird setup with the white shorts for the games against Hajduk—which I’ve always thought was just plain stupid. The match looks great when it's played in Chicago because Dinamo gets to wear a normal kit while Hajduk rolls out in those white shorts and socks. But once you head down to Split... it's just white-and-blue versus blue-and-white. Honestly, it's kind of ridiculous.

analoggull4 said:What do you guys think? Is Dinamo going to drop some new kits this season, or are we stuck with the old collection for a while longer?

Look, if you follow the contract, they swap them out every two years. Since it’s a six-year deal, we technically shouldn't see anything new until the 2011/2012 season. That would mean waiting until then to see an anniversary kit, which feels a little weird, but hey... better late than never, right? My guess is they'll unveil the new look during that match against Tottenham next summer.
Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Bordeaux is just okay, nothing to write home about really, but I guess both they and I are pretty stoked that they won't be playing European matches in those flashy kits that have absolutely zero connection to who they actually are.
PSG looks great too—honestly one of the best Nike designs (given the pathetic competition 😁) this season. It’s for their anniversary, and I was doing a little Google digging just now; I couldn't believe we're waiting longer for spring in Europe than it takes for them to even exist 🤣

image

I'm also feeling the Tottenham vibe; it's way better than that absolute nonsense with the yellow stripes from last season.
And here's the kicker: Marseille is so gorgeous that I'm starting my mission to track one down this fall, even if I have to act like a total maniac at the first tournament that closes its doors.😂

A few more for the road. In typical Trabzon fashion, they've gone full psycho with five different kits. I don't think I can name any other clubs besides them and Copenhagen that go this overboard:

image

Club Brugge has that local African style from Puma, and honestly, I actually dig the away kit even more:

image image

Just a quick side note: the only major club besides Dinamo that ever wore Diador was Standard Liège, and they aren't with Diador anymore either. Just when you thought they'd all moved on to Puma, Nike, Adidas, Umbro, Le Coq Sportif, Kappa, or something similar—suddenly it's planet Rouge od 🤣 From ugly Diadorin stuff to jerseys that make Diadorin's Hugo Boss look good... I just really hope Dinamo doesn't follow suit in two years, though judging by our management... they probably will.😁

Look, this first one isn't actually half bad. Personally, I’ve always been a sucker for a clean, simple jersey design, but hey, that’s just my taste, right? The second one, though? That's just straight-up tacky. 😁
Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Look, this Sunderland kit is alright, but man, you can really tell the difference between the "Tailored by Umbro" stuff and just your run-of-the-mill Umbro gear. Honestly, seeing this might actually give us some food for thought regarding the direction for the new Hajduk kit...

Brenda Cook2 said:It’s no surprise then that that kleptomaniac and Vlatko zmaj from Silver Canada called it. They put a Walmart logo on our kit and pocketed the cash...😁

Honestly, that would look killer on a jersey—just a massive middle finger and a boot to the backside right there on the fabric. 😁

For money...? Honestly, I think that’s probably the smartest answer you’re gonna get. It’s simple: they just have an ad running. 😁I mean, look, as much as I love how this kit looks, it’d be absolute perfection if they didn't actually exist.
