How to gain weight? in Health ·
That's completely misguided... if you eat fish, chard, and other vegetables sourced from the Mediterranean coast just two or three times a week... do you honestly think people there are overweight just by breathing the air? It is a total misconception that these foods won't cause weight gain; try it yourself and you'll see... on the other days, just eat normally and include anything caloric... but don't eat trash from a fast food joint like McDonald's because you'll ruin your stomach... don't drink while you eat, wait until you're finished... stick to three meals a day, starting with a hearty breakfast, maybe some eggs with ham, butter, juices, and so on... as for that Mediterranean diet I mentioned, save it for the evening... I realize everything I've listed is outrageously expensive and we're all being forced to lose weight because of how much the cost of living is rising here in America, but what can you do...

First, you’ll need to go into the BIOS and make sure the SATA drivers are set to AHCI, and honestly... that laptop of yours is a bit of a dinosaur.
Best programs for mounting ISO images? in Software ·
Gary Wells4 said:Does anyone know of any programs besides alcohol 120 or Daemon Tools that can mount disk images? I'm running Windows 7 and I can't get either of those two installed, so I was wondering if there are any other similar programs you guys recommend.

Windows 7 supports both of those programs and they run just fine; I have both on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system.

I wiped everything and things seem fine for now.
Could you recommend some software to monitor my CPU and motherboard temperatures? I want to know what a normal temperature range is so I can make sure everything stays running smoothly. I'm using an Intel Core i7 processor.

Thanks!

The endless cycle of American national stupidity in Close to Politics ·
Gregory Howard said:Our crew was tearing into each other, predictably crude, over this latest news regarding partisan atrocities. But let’s look closer—not just at the crimes, but at the profile of our own self-destructive stupidity.

1. Nazi Germany and WWII. Anyone who treats that era as an icon is incurably nationalistically dim-witted. Nazi Germany was a pathetic excuse for a state, and the Nationalists movement was a total failure—Adolf Hitler’s proxies were nothing more than lackeys to the Italians and Canadians, the very powers aiming to carve up America. Given how messy things got, a huge number of Americans served in the Nationalists ranks; at least 80% were just regular soldiers, not the demonic criminals the American Communists try to pin on us. Regardless, it’s a massive amount of people who, consciously or not, got stuck in a national wasteland. Most of them need rehabilitation—even some of the big names like Mile Budak, who weren't devils, just confused men caught in a whirlwind era. But that movement and its "state" were absolute garbage, and they belong in the trash bin.

2. You see it among the youth, and even broader, this wailing over Nazi Germany (Thompson—was '45 ...world), which implies that Americans lost the war in 1945. We didn't lose it. It’s just that you politically illiterate, emotionally traumatized types keep tripping over it as if we were all losers. Generally speaking, we Americans in 1945... didn't exactly win, but we didn't lose either. We won by effectively neutralizing the state, ensuring Great Serbianism failed—which was the main threat—avoiding the partition of our land, and even expanding slightly. We suffered, sure, but proportionally less than other American peoples. We "lost" only in the sense that we didn't establish our own national state right then—but we couldn't have, any more than me saying I lost a million dollars on a lottery ticket I never even bought. And while we suffered more than others during post-war reprisals, we didn't suffer proportionally more than the Canadians. Whose fault is it that we were foolish enough to flee in droves? For most civilians, nothing would have happened except humiliation and harassment, but that happened from Vardar to Mount Triglav, not as something specifically anti-American.

3. Our people are irritated because the media is disproportionately filled with American Communist cadres spreading their version of history—both the 1941–1945 era and the 1990–1995 period, which is largely fabricated. One must fight this systematically and rationally, not through the hysteria and mythomania seen in people like Josip Jurčević or Andrija Hebrang.

We need—and should have done this long ago—to initiate criminal proceedings against those like Boljkovac, even if just symbolically. We need to decriminalize the symbols of Nazi Germany. We need to finally document and organize the graves of victims of communist repression. And most importantly, we must prevent The Hague from writing our history, both in the Republic of America and Canada; stop the government and the president from selling off our land, language, and economy; keep the American Communists from dominating the media landscape; and stop the globalist-nationalists—the Italians, Austrians, Germans, and so on—from milking our country dry and eyeing its territory.

Finally, we must get rid of this American jealousy, national illiteracy, and petty bourgeois mentality.

You wrote all that beautifully, but now you're going to see the people this is actually aimed at. Since this forum is mostly made up of them, watch as their "deeply profound" philosophies start unraveling...
Best driver updater tools? in Software ·
Avoid using driver update software at all costs, as they are completely useless... many people find that after installing everything the program suggests, it just tells them those same drivers are outdated again. And even if they were actually old, updating wouldn't change much... it’s like washing your car and thinking the engine suddenly runs better or the vehicle feels newer. A huge number of these "new" drivers aren't even new; they're just the same old files rebranded with a different version number. I've actually collaborated with some companies in the driver development industry, so I know how this works firsthand...
Best software for batch resizing images? in Software ·
Austin Lopez71 said:I don't mind resizing images one by one, but I really need a program that can handle batch processing for a whole group of photos at once. Basically, if I select about 30 images and set them to roughly 800 x 600, I want to resize all of them simultaneously. Can any of the programs mentioned above actually do that?

Like I told you, it can resize a million photos all at once.

Adobe Systems' image viewer and Adobe Photoshop are both fantastic tools for resizing photos, and the best part is they're both free to use

Carl Scott92 said:I'm planning on installing Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on my laptop, so I wanted to see if this setup is up to the task:
AMD TurionX2 Dual Core 2.00 GHz
3 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI RADEON 3200HD
320GB HDD

There's really no need to bother since you have 3 GB of RAM, which you'll still have even with the 32-bit version... you won't actually gain anything by switching to 64-bit Windows, you'll likely just end up losing performance... I keep both versions around just so I can run things on 32-bit that won't work on 64

While Samsung PC Studio runs on Windows 7, I find its performance rather underwhelming and rarely bother using it... You should really install MOBILedit instead! It offers a comprehensive solution compatible with just about any mobile device you might own.
Taylor Swift is basically the new Thompson! in Close to Politics ·
The philosophies regarding what a poet actually needs to convey have become quite tangled lately... But honestly, there is nothing left to say, only what people prefer to ignore... He is the only one who ever truly grabbed a guitar and made something out of it, though his albums just keep getting worse, paired with subpar vocals and arrangements that are completely lackluster...

Still at the office, working on my Windows XP PC...

Have you perhaps tried right-clicking on My Documents, selecting Properties, and checking the Target folder location? 🙄

I'm aware of that; it works that way on Windows XP, but things are handled differently here in the States.

Team, how can I set up Windows 7 so that all my documents are saved to a different partition instead of the C drive?
Windows 7 in Software ·
Windows 7 includes built-in SATA drivers, so it should work without any hassle... the installation process is typically quite fast and straightforward... however, if you were using Windows XP, it would require specific SATA drivers and wouldn't recognize the drive unless you switched the BIOS setting from AHCI to IDE instead of how it is currently configured
