Go ahead and talk all you want, but don't forget how Lewis Hamilton played it at the end of the 2007 and 2008 seasons...
Then there's Webber in Korea and Abu Dhabi. After that, feel free to push whatever theory you want about how Marko set him up to hit a wall...
And of course, let's not forget how much trouble he caused behind the safety car. Though, to be fair, he absolutely killed it in those final races of the 2007 and 2012 seasons...
I don't even think I need to explain Jenson Button's second half of the 2009 season.

At the end of the day, the only ones who actually stayed cool and grit their teeth when the title fight got real over the last few seasons were Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, and Massa.☕

Whether they're crying at home because the media or some fans hate them, or if they're just laughing the whole thing off—who cares?
What matters is what they show on the track when it actually counts.☕

"I was on the verge of calling the race. I can't say whether one or two more tire failures would have been enough to pull that trigger, but it was certainly weighing on my mind," the Formula 1 race director revealed, adding: "We've never seen a situation like this with the tires before. We've had other reasons for drivers having to retire or pit for repairs, but this level of tire chaos is unprecedented in the history of Formula 1. It’s too early to draw definitive conclusions, but the FIA must investigate Pirelli's tires following these failures."

Everyone sees what's happening, yet it seems nobody is lifting a finger to actually fix it. Honestly, why doesn't the FIA just grant all teams three days of testing? That might actually solve this nightmare of tire blowouts. If Pirelli fails to improve their products, Charlie Whiting has already hinted at the possibility of race cancellations. The circus just keeps rolling on. 👋

The circus only exists because of Ferrari, Lotus, and FI...
If they weren't constantly whining about these damn tire issues, none of this would even be an issue.

Eyes wide open.

That’s just pure envy. It's what happens when miserable, frustrated people who can't accomplish a single thing in their actual lives decide to lash out and spit on those who actually are

Did you forget to account for the crowd's reaction when he went off again? Or maybe you did—but honestly, what does that actually prove? It doesn't point toward any real conclusion.
Just take a good, hard look at how he left Horner and the rest of the crew—just look at his face, honestly. You can see it in his body language alone.

I’m telling you—with the way the crowd treats him, he never stood a chance. He wasn't some saintly figure or a grandfatherly type who cared about the masses; frankly, he couldn't have given less of a damn about those ordinary people out there who absolutely loathe him. 😁

And you think he actually cares about whatever it is you're talking about...
He can talk all he wants, but if anyone has shown true composure and stability under pressure in recent races, it's Sebastian Vettel.☕
Webber, Alonso, Hamilton, and Button all lost their cool in situations like that—every single one of them.

Just when I'm actually looking forward to hearing his take, he vanishes... that's about how much I trust the American telecommunications infrastructure.

Signal is a total train wreck. 🙂
The TV signal is absolute garbage right now. My DirecTV keeps cutting out constantly. At least I can still catch ORF or RTL, even if watching Mexican channels is driving me insane.

What’s there even to say about the race? Honestly, I don't know where to start.😢
Total mess with that breakdown, but honestly, thank God we've got Mark Webber.😁
He just smothered the competition again, which helped minimize the damage.

The maestro absolutely nailed it—he messed up so spectacularly that even he realized it himself.🙏
It feels like Lotus and Ferrari have completely checked out of the title fight. With how much luck everyone else has been having and all those trophies flying around, the gap between them and the leaders isn't even shrinking anymore. It’s basically over.
Exactly what I’ve been dreading since the start of the season is starting to happen.😳
Mercedes is a damn beast of a machine. Both Hamilton and Rosberg are definitely going to be title contenders.
Dammit, if it wasn't for that tire issue and the gearbox failure, I'm not even sure Vettel would have stood a chance. Honestly, Hamilton probably would've had him before he could even blink.
He was fast, sure, but he only made it into the pits twice.

Across the board, Mercedes has become serious competition for both titles.
I’m just waiting for Pirelli to go after Ferrari, Lotus, and Force India for messing with the tire changes... maybe they'll finally get kicked out of F1 altogether.😁
Elizabeth Hughes said:Are these guys seriously running a studio out of someone's basement?! What on earth is this sound quality?! 🙄

Probably just recorded in Seth's basement next to a bunch of old drums.😬
Nancy Scott5 said:Pastor Maldonado got slapped with a penalty for being too slow

Pure nonsense.☕
What does following the rulebook even have to do with this? They could've just slapped him with a testing ban during the young driver tests instead of going this route. This is overkill.☕
steelmaker83 said:Vettel’s complaining about the cold, claiming there's zero grip...

Tomorrow, it’s going to be Mercedes and Red Bull fighting for the win, while Fernando settles for somewhere around 5th or 6th. I’m starting to worry that if we're looking at the championship standings, Fernando is already out of the running. It was obvious that the whole tire circus at the start played right into Lotus and Ferrari's hands, but now the momentum has completely shifted.

I honestly get the feeling more and more drivers are just going to walk away from Formula 1 because of Goodyear, Bernie Ecclestone, and all that nonsense...

Call me crazy, but I feel like that's exactly why Michael Schumacher and Mark Webber left.
At the end of the day, both of them were pretty loud and clear about hating this artificial circus of tires, DRS, KERS, and all these gimmicks that basically kill actual racing...
What we end up with is a bunch of sudden performance swings, piles of overtakes, and "unpredictable" races (which is just code for chaotic), but when you look back at the full season, you might find maybe ten actual, legitimate duels or passes. Everything else feels less like racing and more like what Webber called "American wrestling"🙄
Maybe Lewis Hamilton's cat took a massive dump on Fernando Alonso's Ferrari front wing, which would explain why his qualifying session was such a disaster...
I'm fully expecting some ridiculous excuse like that 😬
Drew Bennett68 said:Daniel Ricciardo absolutely crushed qualifying, making a massive statement for his chances at Red Bull Racing.

Yeah, right. Only if he can keep his chemistry up and stay ahead of Fernando Alonso.😁
Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up trailing Pierre Gasly by the end of it.
rustyorca13 said:Hmm...

Wait, aren't the tires the same for everyone?🙂

🤣
steelmaker83 said:What was the problem? He drove as hard as he could. In fact, he went even further than that.

He was absolutely brilliant.🙏
I don't see why anyone's bothering me about it—just let the guy keep going.👍
Bernie and Pirelli will sort it out😁
If they pulled it off for a birthday, they can handle the 600th race😬
It’s kind of wild that Jenson Button has never actually stood on the podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway...😁

Who knows, maybe this is finally the year.🤣
It would be absolute comedy if he pulled it off in one of those absolute garbage McLarens instead of doing it with Brawn.😁
Hamilton absolutely thrives on this track, it's like he was born for it.☕
That makes Mercedes the No. 1 favorite, regardless of anything else.☕

But hey, considering Red Bull's private😉test, who really knows?😁
Jerry Rogers6, just so you know, Webber was better on day one, while Vettel took the lead for the next two... but the gaps are tiny. We're talking maybe a second or two at most.😬 🤣
William Bennett53 said:This weekend, the F1 circus returns to the very grounds where it all kicked off back in the 1950s: Indianapolis. It is a beautiful, classic circuit originally constructed on a WWII military airfield; instead of hosting heavy bombers, it now plays host to racing machines, often providing us with some truly exhilarating battles. One can only hope Sunday delivers something similar.

After several turbulent years plagued by concerns over financial viability (a struggle shared by most international races, perhaps with the exception of Monaco), Indianapolis seems to have finally found a bit of stability. The track layout itself has been altered on multiple occasions, though since 2010, it has maintained this specific configuration:

For those who might have missed last year's action, or perhaps those who have just recently joined our ranks, it is worth noting that Webber took the victory ahead of Alonso and Vettel. Alonso secured pole position the day before—setting what remains the fastest lap ever recorded on this modern layout—while during the race itself, Kimi clocked the fastest lap (though he holds the record for the quickest qualifying lap set back in 2004 on the old configuration).

As for the weather, we can only hope it remains typically unpredictable for the UK.

If anyone is looking for more granular details, I suggest letting Google be your guide.

I haven't come across any particularly interesting photos of the grid girls, so I shall leave that task to the superior Google users among us. 😁

Is that photo from Indianapolis?
Or just wishful thinking for the race?😬🤣

Roger Wright94 said:Back when Felipe Massa beat out the current team leader—who, let's be honest, gets way more hype—and snatched the title by a hair after grabbing six wins that season.

That’s exactly why we need to talk about them in that context. You can't just look at raw wins or total points and call it a day. It's not that simple.

Did Luca Montezemolo sneak around and soap up Kimi Räikkönen's car on the way in?🤣
Look, I mean, there's no denying Felipe Massa had an absolute beast of a 2008 season, but that whole year just felt weird to me. It was such a strange run.

Besides, he’d never admit that Massa actually beat his teammate—it was just Kimi beating everyone else on his own.😁
Chuck, if my memory serves me right, they practically handed him a win that season too...

What makes you think it was somehow easier for Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello, or Mark Webber to grab wins while being teammates to multi-time world champions? Like, I don't even know, just name anyone else...
