Richard Vaughn62 said:McLaren absolutely choked today... total disaster. Drivers on completely different strategies just ended up strung out in a line. Sutil, who was dealing with every possible headache, three pit stops, and a drive-through penalty, still finished ahead of them. Unbelievable. 😲

The Race was a total snooze-fest if it wasn't for the chaos; without the mess, there wouldn't have been any overtaking at all. Red Bull is out of the running again—they built a 4-second lead in just the first three laps. 🤦

Damn those McLaren fans. They should honestly get together and stage a ritual protest right outside Witmarsh to give the bosses a piece of their minds.☕
On a track where they’ve practically owned the place the last few years, they can't even scrape together a single point.🤦

Plus, this breaks a 64-race streak of McLaren scoring points... and that's on a track that usually suits them perfectly, with zero issues or crashes involved.

If anyone deserves to be kicked to the curb before Monday morning rolls around, it's those two clowns.

🙏🤣🤣🤣
At least they're the perfect crew for Kimi😁 if nothing else, they know how to have a good laugh at everything. 👍

God knows who's actually going to show up.🙂
But honestly, having races this late in the day just gets on my nerves.🙂

You’re forgetting he’s got Jean-Éric Vergne breathing down his neck and Mark Webber right in front of him... plus, there's only one seat left at Red Bull to fight for.😬😈🤣

🤣🤣🤣
I mean, come on. Who in their right mind would pair Felipe Massa with anyone? Any combination involving him is just a bad call.😂
Maybe this works if Ferrari Lotus drops $300 million to grab Felipe Massa... provided Kimi Räikkönen coughs up another $200 million just to stay at Lotus instead of driving for Ferrari. Then they could just slot Romain Grosjean or Vitantonio Liuzzi into that Ferrari seat instead of Massa.😬🤣

Oh, I'm definitely kidding.🤣
I just can't figure out if the people spreading rumors about Kimi joining Red Bull Racing are also joking, because if they replace him with Pastor Maldonado, 🙏 🤣

God, what a duo, Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado. 🙏
They should probably go ahead and buy another five semi-trucks full of spare parts and hire fifty more mechanics just to handle the constant repairs.😬

Raymond Anderson4 said:It's obvious that Ferrari struggles to get those tires up to temperature... just watch qualifying and you'll see how often Alonso has to sacrifice his flying lap just to warm them up. That means he's hitting his peak in lap three, which is useless since he's already lost at least a tenth by then. And that’s with air temps around 70°F—imagine the nightmare when it actually starts raining...

True, but damn, that's exactly why they manage their tires so much better during the race.😁

I actually spent this morning pulling all the data from every race on F1LT, and it's crystal clear: certain cars just perform differently depending on track temperature...
Take Ferrari and Lotus, for example. They love it when it's around 95°F, give or take a few degrees...
But at 68°F? They're totally screwed because they simply can't get the rubber into the working window.

Interestingly enough, Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-Benz hit their stride right when it hits that 95°F mark.😁
On the flip side, they kill it in low temperatures, and even when it gets scorching over 104°F, because once it gets that hot, the advantage Lotus and Ferrari have disappears... then everyone is equally miserable, so it doesn't really matter.🤣

It’s definitely going to be a race weekend.😁
Ferrari looks like they have the best race pace when things stabilize, though Red Bull was right on their heels from the jump.
As for Mercedes, they looked terrible, so I wouldn't be shocked if they slide down the standings again just like they did in Barcelona...
I’m really pulling for Valtteri Bottas to hang in there until the end and finally snag some points for Williams...

P.S. What do you guys think? Will they actually extend the grid so Romain Grosjean can start 29th😬 or will they just stick him in 24th?🤷
Honestly, it would be pretty hilarious if they just stretched the grid out to 30 spots just to put him in 29th.🤣

If Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Valtteri Bottas, and Nico Rosberg were hitting 24.7-25.0 in S1 and around 27.9-28.2 in S2,
then the crew with Vergne and Adrian Sutil were looking at 25.0-25.5 in S1 and 28.3-28.8 in S2.
Meanwhile, the Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso group was stuck in the 26.x range for S1 and 29.x for S2.

So, I guess it’s safe to assume the faster drivers actually finish ahead...
Or who knows, maybe the maestro was just warming up to crush the final sector by 2 or 3 seconds just to show off.
2013 Canadian GP - Montreal (June 9) in Formula 1 ·
Jason Campbell70 said:Sure, but you could honestly say he got lucky.

And how exactly was Valtteri Bottas lucky?

The only guys who finished behind him and were even remotely close to his pace during those first two sectors of qualifying were Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber... they weren't faster, just about the same.😳

The remainder of the field was noticeably slower... so yeah, there's your luck.
He got lucky because he probably would've ended up stuck behind both Aston Martins and Adrian Sutil if the rain hadn't absolutely soaked sector three.

Nathan Jones98 said:Sebastian Vettel once again showed us how to get lucky, while Valtteri Bottas actually showed some skill.

And what did the Ferrari drivers manage to show?

This is what happens when you shove mediocre F1 drivers into an incredible car...
The one slightly below average starts hugging the walls the second a drop of rain hits the track, and the guy just above average barely manages to outpace Williams and stays just ahead of Aston Martin by a hair.

Emily Patel64 said:not just him either☕

Sure, you can think that if you want🤣

Anyway, on that first lap on fresh tires, Sebastian Vettel actually clocked the best time through sectors one and two...
Mark Webber killed the first sector, but fell off a bit in the second...
Lewis Hamilton was solid in the first and crushed the second...

Basically, all three were within about 0.200s of each other, with Sebastian Vettel leading, Webber in second, and Lewis Hamilton in third..
And just for context, through the First Qualifying Session, Second Qualifying Session, and Third Qualifying Session Sebastian Vettel, he was basically keeping them all within a 0.5-0.8s margin in the third sector—where Webber was actually their weakest link..

Emily Patel64 said:What?

5 Mark Webber
6 Fernando Alonso
9 Kimi Räikkönen
14 Jenson Button
😁

Emily Patel64 said:Seriously, the idiot could be happy that rain actually started at the perfect moment.image

What are you even talking about?
The two Red Bulls had way better times in the first two sectors before everyone got slowed down in sector three at the end...
And Sebastian Vettel was literally destroying everyone in sector three throughout the whole qualifying session.☕
http://www.formula1.com/results/seas...tor_times.html
Just look at that sector three time compared to the rest—he was about 0.600 faster in that one single sector.😳

If that hadn't happened toward the end of the Third Qualifying Session, we would've seen a 1-2 or 1-3 for Red Bull.☕
Lewis Hamilton was slightly faster than Mark Webber, but I still think Mark Webber would've beaten him in sector three...
And Sebastian Vettel's pole time would have been about half a second better than Hamilton or Mark Webber.

I don't know what to tell you. There isn't enough content here to work with. Give me something actual to rewrite. kaže:
Total disaster in the US. Everything is a complete mess. 🤣

Not exactly everything.🙂

If that thing had broken just a few seconds earlier, Alonso would’ve been out of the Third Qualifying Session.
Too bad he couldn't pull it off.🙂
I honestly think Kamui Kobayashi would’ve been handed a Ferrari seat by the time we hit the British Grand Prix.🤣

Real drivers show what they're made of when it starts pouring ☕

Big congrats to Valtteri Bottas and Williams Racing 👍
Emily Patel64 said:man, Kmeckoimage

Even back then, those times didn't really show much unless you had an empty track all to yourself on the final lap...

Anyway, Kmecko topped FP3 🙏👍
Glad to see Markec finally woke up from his nap.😁
Canada feels weird this season...
If you look at those times from Red Bull Racing FP, they’ve clearly leveled up big time compared to previous years.
For some divine reason, they don't seem to have any real deficit when it comes to straight-line speed this year.😁
In fact, they're only lagging by about 3-2.5 milesmph behind the leaders... which means that DRS advantage Ferrari and McLaren used to have over them shouldn't be nearly as massive as it was in the past.🙂

Man, this sucks. I'm actually depressed...😢
Samuel Ruiz4 said:Sebastian Vettel says they need to swap those tires immediately for safety reasons.

Orders from the top.😁

I’ve got a feeling the Red Bull owner just got some threats from the boss at Pirelli—you know, the Bernie type—telling them to quit riding their ass.
They might as well just hand Mercedes-Benz custom tires during the first half of the season. At this rate, they’ll probably never even get a testing date that actually works for them anyway.😬

Lately, we’ve been getting these weirdly peaceful statements coming out of Red Bull toward Pirelli. It’s almost suspicious. Even that sudden defense of Ferrari is pretty interesting to watch.😁
Something is definitely going down.🤷

Besides that, it looks like McLaren ran their own Pirelli tests too.🤔
Jenson Button sounded incredibly cryptic and weird on that point. He kept dodging the question, acting like he was afraid to say whether what Mercedes-Benz was testing was actually okay or not.
