You're mostly right about everything, except for one tiny detail: if Massa were actually a better driver for Ford, he’d be sitting right there as their number two, or maybe even closer to it. The thing is, if Massa had scored more points, it would have automatically meant that Hamilton and Button ended up with fewer 😉

That’s all great and all, but what’s the point? Why would a top team want a driver this bad? Besides, that whole scenario only happens maybe once or twice a year. It used to be that they had to explain to Matt Damon that he needs to move over for Lewis Hamilton while he's being lapped, rather than Matt Damon just letting him pass. 🤣

I think it's high time they gave that seat to a better driver. 😳
And as for letting someone pass in a situation like that—there are plenty of subtle ways to tuck him behind Lewis Hamilton. It’s not rocket science. 😬

Matt Damon is bad. Like, really bad. ☕

If you want proof of how much Massa has been struggling lately, just look at the numbers. In the last three races, he scraped together 18 points. Meanwhile, Alonso banked 36 points despite one DNF. It took Massa the entire last seven races combined just to hit that same 36-point mark, and even then, his total is a pathetic 42.🤦.

In those last three races.
Button - 48 (Lewis Hamilton 20)
Mark Webber is at 42. Sebastian Vettel is sitting pretty at 68.
Schumacher leads with 12—Nico Rosberg’s sitting at 6.
Kobayashi - 16 (Perez/de la Rosa - 0)
Vitaly Petrov - 10 (Nick Heidfeld 5)

What’s actually satisfying about driving a Ferrari that can only grab a podium? You’re sitting there next to Lewis Hamilton, who I basically knocked out of the title fight myself over the last three races, just to scrape a few extra points ahead of Vitaly Petrov, Kamui Kobayashi, and Michael Schumacher—even though their cars are absolute trash compared to Matt Damon's.

Matt Damon is hands down the worst Number 2 driver in any top team. Honestly, he needs to get kicked to the curb. I’m genuinely surprised he hasn't been fired yet. 😳

Don't mess with Grandpa 🙂

It’s already hard enough on him at his age, so honestly, just stop trolling Grandpa and his fans 😳

I really don't get the point 🤷

No, those guys weren't exactly out there playing detective to see who did what to whom. Peter cut through some of the nonsense, but Grandpa wasn't exactly eager to let it go either.

I messed up. Honestly, I just blew it. It was my mistake, plain and simple.

Honestly, if you ask me, it looks like Peter is the one entirely to blame here.🤷

If Grandpa says he’s the one to blame, then I guess he’s right.🤷

darkmarlin16 said:I'm saying he has the fastest car😛

Look, I’m not bashing his performance—it’s undeniably fantastic. I just want to see him win when he isn't sitting in the best car on the grid.😉

Real talent shows up when the car is mediocre, like how Fernando handled things back in '08 and '09. Seeing someone squeeze every drop of potential out of a non-winning car is what I value most. To me, those wins are basically mini-titles. (Even Sebastian Vettel did a killer job in the Toro Rosso.)

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to downplay any of Vettel's wins here.☕
Every winning streak eventually hits a wall. Law of large numbers. Michael Schumacher absolutely crushed everyone in 2004, then 2005 was a totally different story.

Hey darkmarlin16, let's be real: Vettel can't win anything unless he's in a PP. He wins them in such a massive streak that I honestly can't even remember the last time he didn't start from pole.🤣

And honestly, it's not just about the car. Look at Mark Webber—he was incredible in qualifying his whole career, yet he always ended up trailing way behind Vettel.☕

Vettel has a great car, sure, but he also drives like a beast.☕

As for Fernando, I'm not entirely sold. Sure, he has those otherworldly races—that one in Miami was easily his best this season in my eyes—but Vettel just looks more consistent than him right now.🙂
Valencia Grand Prix - June 26, 2011 in Formula 1 ·
It’s actually pretty wild—even if Alonso or Hamilton swept every single race left this season while Vettel just finished second in all of them, Vettel would still take the title.😲

Even if Webber or Button won everything from here on out and Vettel was stuck in second place every time, he’d still end up tied with whoever the potential champ was. Honestly, I really expected him to pull off some championships one of these days, but apparently, I was dreaming.😲

mistybison10 said:Both guys had KERS, and their strategies were basically identical—at least among the leaders. Aside from Hamilton struggling slightly for a few laps, Massa was too far back for tires to even matter. Then there’s the DRS, which was set pretty conservatively; it didn't even kick in until about 200 meters after the corner.

Seriously though, why can't Jergovic figure out the difference between detection and activation points?

😕 What kind of luck does Hamilton need to be running with Alguersuari and Sutil, especially when Sutil was somehow four seconds faster than Jamie during the lap Stiegel caught him and pulled up right on his bumper?🤷
Valencia Grand Prix - June 26, 2011 in Formula 1 ·
Honestly, how much this pathetic track perfectly sums up this entire season and today's race🤣

Double DRS zones, KERS, brand new tires... and people still can't pass. It’s ridiculous.🤣
On top of that, you basically need the guy in front to mess up and the guy behind to pull off a miracle just to make a move.

Sutil was faster by—get this—4 seconds. Four whole seconds. That was in one lap right before he caught Alguersuari, and that was with relatively fresh rubber against Alguersuari on ancient tires. And he still finished fourth. 🤦

This track is an absolute disaster.👎

The fact that I breezed through all these posts in about 30 seconds tells you everything you need to know about how much fun that race actually was.🤣

I think we might have just set a record for the least active thread in this forum's history.🤣

Everything is just going too smoothly for Sebastian Vettel. It’s getting ridiculous.🤣

I can't wrap my head around it. It looks like the FIA completely screwed up, specifically targeting McLaren and Mercedes with those engine mapping rules.😲

Ferrari keeps improving, which is great for Vettel, I guess, even if they are still trailing behind.

The officiating was honestly unbelievable.🤦

Vitaly Petrov😲 gets off scot-free. First, he messes up Grandpa, then he ruins Mark Webber's position. And don't get me started on how he chased Kamui Kobayashi for two or three laps behind the blue flags—neither he nor the stewards gave him any grief at all.😂

Kudos to Mark Webber.👍 Honestly, I'm just glad he actually finished the race.👍

The STR performance was impressive, especially those Algiers vibes.🙏 🙏 🙏

True. The women here are rare enough to be considered endangered species.😁

Every now and then we actually spot them at a local brewery, too. 🙂

The only real downside is if they pick a place with rock-hard pizza—but that only happens when the Vespa picks the spot.🤣

Turns out these new rules are doing nothing but screwing over McLaren and Mercedes.

Sure, whatever you say.🧐

Massa might actually surprise you—this time by flying off the track about 19 laps after Alonso does.😬 🤣

I’m expecting Sebastian Vettel to go way too wide under pressure again, but this time he’ll be chasing Fernando Alonso 😍 😁😁

You think Vettel will actually overtake him like he did with Mark Webber last year? 😬

He won't get anything of Alonso in Miami 😉
Felipe Massa would be better than him.

Alonso's time doesn't even start until the British Grand Prix.

The guy is clearly playing it smart around the Red Bull crew; he knows what's up. ☕

Christian Horner mentioned he was basically kicked out the door without any warning, which left him pretty blindsided and confused.🤣

Looks like Lewis is sniffing around RB, but honestly? Doesn't look like Christian Horner gives a damn about him. 🤣
