Singapore Grand Prix - Sep 25, 2011 in Formula 1 ·
Brian Campbell36 said:For two consecutive seasons now, we have heard nothing but talk of Ferrari preparing for a massive breakthrough, with claims that they will finally be ready by next year.
The word is they intend to mimic the Red Bull design philosophy by lowering the front wing closer to the ground, along with several other technical innovations. One can only hope that this third attempt won't result in yet another disaster; surely, it is high time for Ferrari to reclaim its place at the summit.
Yet, the apprehension remains: no matter how much preparation Ferrari puts into the upcoming season, is there not a persistent risk that McLaren and Red Bull will simply push even further ahead, just as they did this year, and leave us in their wake?
It feels fundamentally unjust when Red Bull possesses the most brilliant engineer in the sport today...🙂

They've got the best driver. ☕

He had that same engineer over at McLaren too, so what exactly did they manage to build with him?

Brian Campbell36 said:Is it actually realistic to expect Alonso to stand on the podium in Singapore, or are we all just indulging in the collective wishful thinking of Ferrari fans?
If they run with those overly hard tire compounds again, I fear everything will just fall apart for Alonso; at that point, his only hope might be seeing a McLaren or a Red Bull "crash into a wall." 🙂

Oh yeah, I definitely think so.🙂

Honestly, even a win wouldn't catch me off guard at this point.🙂

Not that I'd actually enjoy seeing that happen.🙂

As for the podium, I'm calling it: Vettel and Alonso, plus either Webber or Button.☕

Something's definitely brewing here🤣

If they mess with Mass, both Alonso and Domenecal are walking straight out of the team🤣

Looks like Deda is gearing up to take this clown down🤣

redviper32 said:Oh, I don't think we're looking at much rain at all, maybe not even a proper downpour, just a tiny bit, you know, just enough to dampen the track a little bit. Just enough for Mr. 🙂
to decide that racing is actually a go!

I’m honestly worried they'll call the race after just three drops of rain. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that there's zero chance they'll allow a night race if it starts pouring, mostly because of the light reflections and all that nonsense.🙄

I've got a bad feeling we're getting absolutely nothing out of that.

redviper32 said:I’m really crossing my fingers that we see some kind of new Pique emerge, though I guess I’m probably hoping for it more than actually expecting it 😬 , and honestly, I think the rain could turn out to be such an incredibly wild card for this night race 😁

If it rains, the race is toast. Nighttime plus rain just doesn't mix well 😢

I mean, come on, the Singapore Grand Prix is always some kind of chaotic mess, just constant nonsense and drama 🤷

I’ve got a gut feeling this year is going to be just as insane 😳

Michael Lee4 said:Unless it pours, I'm expecting a boring race with zero overtakes.☕

If it does rain, expect plenty of SC periods and everyone whining about how they can't see anything through the spray and the floodlights.🙂

btw... where's the DRS zone even going to be? (not like it actually matters on this track anyway)

in the pits 🤷

🤣🤣🤣

I bet Michael Lee4 is counting on rain🤣

Serious business here: I’m basically expecting the race to end early, giving some people another two weeks of hope😳

If I remember correctly, that thing is disabled by default. Looking at my settings, it's definitely off, and I'm pretty damn sure I didn't flip the switch myself 🤷

Which basically means you have to manually enable it if you actually want it to work 🤔
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Anyone got a clue why my account passwords keep disappearing? 😕

So, I’m logged in as admin, creating specific users and assigning them privileges—you know, sharing drives and folders so some people can see certain files, some can see everything, and others can actually edit stuff. I'm doing this because it's the only way to get things working with:

A PC running Windows XP
A Windows Media Player that acts like a VLC Media Player (Popcorn A-110)
A DVB-S Receiver acting as a Windows Media Player (VU+ Solo)

And all that other junk.

Basically, I set up these users for each device, assigned their passwords, did everything by the book, and then suddenly they just can't log in anymore.😕

It’s like the passwords are changing themselves or just vanishing into thin air.🤷

This is the third or fourth time I've had to reset everything (except the admin password, which stays perfectly fine)🤷.🙂

I don't get it. Is there some weird expiration date on passwords created by an Administrator? Or am I supposed to be setting these users up differently?🤷

If anyone has an idea, let me know. For what it's worth, I haven't even tried logging in directly from the computer itself.🤷
Need a name for my new restaurant in Boone! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
shadowpuma32 said:Hey everyone, I've got a pretty dumb question but I seriously need help here. Does anyone happen to know the name of that massive restaurant on the old highway between San Diego and Chicago? It's right behind the Memphis store when you're heading toward Chicago. I think I left my prescription glasses there and now I have no clue how to track them down. If anyone has an idea, I'd be super grateful. Thanks!

Eh, there are plenty of them out there, gotta think... if it was on the right side, there's a pretty new, huge place called "Baker" right in Boone. Based on what you said, that might be the one. 🤔

Or maybe "Mark," but I think he's further down the road and isn't even in Boone anymore.🤷

WTF 😕

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9tF7...embedded#at=78

God, these idiots are literally flying off the track while the Renault is on fire and the marshals are trying to douse the flames. I honestly don't get what Williams and STR were thinking here.😲>

Holy crap, they're driving through debris and coming within inches of a burning car and the firefighters.😲>

Everyone else is actually staying in their lane and keeping distance from the wreck, but apparently, that's too much to ask for these guys.😕>

There are a few more passing by, but they're moving so fast I can barely catch them on camera to see who's who. Pretty sure one was an RB or STR and maybe a Lotus.🤷>

Chris Ortiz said:I actually think I figured out the catch. After his second pit stop, they told him over the radio he had to pull off 25 laps on those tires. He was already falling off the pace by lap 17 or 18. Since they knew he’d have to pit twice more anyway, they just used those faster reds. Assuming they were even faster.

In my opinion, he should've burned through two sets of yellows to make up for that extra pit stop. He was fast, too—who knows how that would've played out...

What do you mean two yellows? He already burned through two sets during Q1 and Q2.😳

Hamilton was the only one who finished both Q1 and Q2 on yellow tires.

Maybe that would've been a brilliant tactic if the race stayed dry and the track was hot, but damn, it wasn't. In the end, it was just a handicap.

redheron12 said:Wait, does the intermediate tire situation even matter? Lewis Hamilton's race was basically handed to him on a silver platter once his pit crew went with the softs instead.

Intermediates would've been a gamble. If the rain picked up, he could have easily made up for the time lost by picking the wrong tires. 🤷

And he didn't really lose anything—I mean, sure, he lost spots to Button, Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso, but he probably would've lost those anyway during a tire change... maybe he wouldn't have caught Alonso, but who knows. 🤷

So, zero risk, nothing to lose, yet he could have potentially snatched the win. 🙂

He should've gone with the softs, assuming he didn't mess up during qualifying. 😉

If I remember right, he was the only one without fresh intermediates, while everyone else had them, but he actually had a set of fresh softs ready to go. 😉
