Jep, that only applies to Alonso.🤣

Everyone else is just a total pushover if they don't win and take, I don't know, "only" second place.😂

Michael Lee4 said:Also, there was some weirdness yesterday involving Hamilton. I wasn't paying full attention, but when they interviewed Whitmarsh about tire strategy, he made it sound like they had a solid plan for the pit stop. Then, right after, Lewis tells some other interviewer—not the ones here, maybe some lady on TV—that the radio comms were glitchy. He claimed he could hear them, but they couldn't hear him. Can someone who watched or downloaded the Reddit thread confirm this?

Jep Lewis was definitely dancing around the idea that they couldn't hear him, but it felt super sour, like he was straight-up lying.🤷

It’s honestly pretty sketchy. Even Whitmarsh seemed to be dodging questions. Something just doesn't add up here.🤷

To me, it looked like Janson said he wanted to go to intermediates and then Hamilton just dove into the pits prematurely.🤣

I’ve got this nagging feeling that Button totally screwed him over.😁

He was totally oblivious; they almost had a massive head-on collision. They could have at least towed him through the grass or something.

Look, you idiot, they absolutely should have penalized him.☕

SC goes out for every little thing, whether it's a tiny winglet in the grass or a bird on the track, but then a car basically explodes right at the pit exit and nothing happens.🤦

If nothing else, they should've at least closed the pit entry until they cleared the wreckage.😳

Total lack of organization.👎

goldenpilot2 said:What else can you expect when someone blows the start, spins out twice in the exact same spot, loses control... could it have gone any worse? He did what he could during that final stint on those super softs, but those tires are garbage. 7-8 laps and they're toast. Lap times just skyrocket.

On the other hand, I get that a constructor might mess up the car one year—miscalculate something, miss a detail, have zero ideas... BUT for the mechanics to screw up 2 or 3 pit stops at EVERY single race? That is absolutely mind-boggling.
Fighting for position—your rival is sitting at 3.2 seconds, while Alonso is stuck at 5.6s. Yeah, that’s how you lose races.

And please, someone enlighten me: who was the steward for this race? That penalty on Hamilton makes zero sense (honestly, it feels like they've lost their minds).

Like I said a while back, the Italians are sloppy, and it’s going to stay that way as long as an Italian is running the show at Ferrari.☕

As for Lewis, well, considering all the other penalties so far, this one actually fits the pattern. Is it stupid? Sure. But ultimately, it's consistent.🙄

but the vibe isn't quite👎

Honestly, I'd call it better than incredible.

Keith Rodriguez27 said:In my book, Fernando Alonso (rightfully) got overshadowed by both McLarens, but you can't deny he drove a hell of a race. Especially considering he finished convincingly ahead of Mark Webber by a full thirty seconds, even though he started on those super-softs while Webber went straight to hards.

Out of all the top contenders, Alonso actually had the worst race execution😳
I'm not even kidding—it was obvious that Ferrari was miles ahead on this track and in these conditions, and Felipe Massa proved that better than anyone.
Then there's the fact that Alonso messed up several things himself, plus his pit crew screwed him over with the tire choice (or maybe he just screwed himself up 🤷), so yeah, it's a decent result overall, but he really could have done way, way better.

nimblesurfer17 said:I was actually surprised nobody’s giving him any credit..😁 The guy did an incredible job..🙏 So, what do you guys think—which car is better, STR or McLaren? 🤷 I have a feeling STR has potential, it’s just that their drivers rarely know how to tap into it..
Lewis Hamilton and the strategists 🤦
neither Nico Rosberg nor Brawn really made a mark..
Gumb 🙏
Sebastian Vettel: I'm not a fan of his driving style or recent tactics.. because of that, I'd love to see anyone in the field overtake him, even if it's Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton..😬

STR is a killer car in the rain 🙏
Always has been, but unfortunately, the same doesn't apply to Red Bull Racing😢

it's interesting how Red Bull Racing is great in the dry, while STR struggles there.

It's weird, but those two cars act completely opposite for some reason, even though they share almost the same base🤷

Chris Ortiz said:That track is pretty cool, but it’s kind of depressing that he hasn't shown anything in two seasons while BB snatched up two world titles.

What do you mean? He actually outpaced AAons on the track today, even while running on those slower yellows compared to his faster reds.😁

My favorite part of the day🤣

Jenson Button 🙏🙏🙏

A sweet little gift for his 200th GP 👍

He actually drove a hell of a race 🙂

Sebastian Vettel 👋 just widens the gap even more 😍

No rain yet, just gray, gloomy skies and a light breeze.

Wonder what we're actually going to see🤷

plus one of these guys was driving a Porsche in his photos and didn't even crash it.

I swear, if Vettel pulls this off and grabs another 25 points, I’m done. I'm officially walking away from the races. ☕ Bernie completely trashed the points system. Last year was fine because the field was actually competitive, but this year? Red Bull Racing is just on another level.

It wouldn't matter anyway, regardless of how they set up the points system.🤣
Besides that, Red Bull Racing was way more dominant last year than they are this season. ☕

Douglas Garcia24 said:Personally, I'm more interested in what happens up front 😁

The perfect scenario: Lewis tries to dive past Vettel at turn one, slams into him, and they both DNF ☕

Oh, and Button can always join the party by smashing into them too 😬

Massa will probably wreck Hamilton before Hamilton even gets near Vettel 😉

When it comes to Vettel, I'm way more worried about Massa and Alonso than Button and Hamilton.

Chris Ortiz said:I’m dying to see how long those super-softs actually last for Lewis🤣 🤣
6 laps max, if I had to guess.🤣 🤣

Honestly, I don't get McLaren's strategy at all.😕
It’s obvious the soft (yellow) tires will be better for the race, so why waste a set now?🤷

So what, Hamilton ends up with one fresh set of yellows and one fresh set of reds, but he has to start on the reds anyway?🤷

I just don't buy that they can stretch out a red-yellow-red stint.🤷

To me, this "different" strategy looks more like a handicap than an advantage.🤷

It’s going to be interesting watching how Alonso, Massa, and Webber handle the start.🤣
2011 Canadian Grand Prix - July 31st in Formula 1 ·
Sebastian Vettel as expected, absolutely nailed it 👍😍
Jenson Button and Felipe Massa 🙏🙏🙏

Mark Webber 🤷
I don't know, I'm not feeling this. Looks like Red Bull Racing might not be the kings of this track after all.
jadetrucker43 said:I don't get it either. They've got KERS, they've got unlimited DRS, yet the lap times are still slower... 🤷

Even the folks over at the BBC are scratching their heads 🤷
We're talking a 2-3 second drop here. That's not nothing—and that's without anyone even having a bad run or anything else going wrong.😕
What even is this 😕
Did they extend the track or something? 😕

Last year we were hitting 1.18.xxx, but this season nobody can break 1.20 😕

And every single race so far has been about the same pace or faster 🤷

Hamilton absolutely crushed that lap in Q2 😲
still moving like molasses 🤣
I don't get why everyone is playing it so safe and hiding their pace like they've got something to lose 😕

expecting a wild run from Sebastian Vettel in Q3, probably sitting right around 1.17 / 1.18 ☕
Looks like everyone finished testing with full fuel loads and ran their race simulations.🙏

Finally, Red Bull is back at the top where they belong.😁
They’ve brought upgrades too, and apparently, Red Bull's top speed in the DRS zones is already outclassing both Ferrari and McLaren.👋

It looks like they're heading toward total dominance.🤣
